Blu (2000)

I barely smell the ginger in this one – I get a big floral accord that is dominated by wisteria and carries a powdery background. It reminds me of Bulgari Blu for men without the ginger, and in that sense, I much prefer this except that this one is very feminine with its powdery florals. Besides boasting florals, the fragrance’s powder is white musky and vanilla, and it smells to me like a feminine talcum powder. It’s a linear fragrance with little variations except that it gets more powdery as it progresses.

If it weren’t for the fact that I am used to Bulgari Blu for Men, I think I would be impressed by this fragrance and call it a wonderful feminine floral / spice offering. But I do own the men’s version and I am aware of how deceivingly strong that similar scent is to this and how it is so easy to grow to dislike it. I guess my prejudice makes my vote on Bulgari Blu EDP a neutral.

While this is a bit fresher, I still prefer the more sophisticated BLU NOTTE version over this. I also like the men's version of BLU more than the women's..... I suppose the women's is a bit too sweet-floral for my taste. It's not a bad scent, but I don't feel the need to also own this BLU.

Sprayed this on one day at my local Kohls and wandered around with it on my wrist.

It starts out very sweet and fresh smelling - all citrus and aqua notes, but the drydown about two hours later disappointed me. The clean, fruity opening that made me smile died into something plasticity and artificial that I had to scrub off.

I can definitely see how it could "work" on someone who isn't me, but I'll have to give it a neutral.

Opens up with ginger and citrus, quite refreshing. Doesn't take long before ginger quietens and smoldering plastic emerges. Not a terrible scent but certainly not something I would try again.

Blv starts off very peppery (the Ginger I'm guessing)... this could very easily scare someone away! This disappears quickly though, and the scent that remains is beautiful! It's a sublte sexy, clean & powdery scent. Blv is a very good perfume for the occassions that you're not sure what to wear. It can easily be worn on a night out,or every day to the office. Highly recommended!

Not bad. A tad too masculine for my taste.
