This is a very distinct woody/spicy masculine scent. It is very strong, and in fact overpowering, compared to the 90's "refreshing" colognes, so it is a hate-it-or-love-it cologne. It will likely offend as many as it impresses.

There are some scents in this fragrance that I like, but overall it is too powdery, and I would not recommend for any man under 30.

Obsessions is one of my comfort scents.
My sister has worn this for at least 20 years and every time I smell it, I am reminded of her. I live in Korea now - half way across the world from my family - and whenever I'm missing my sister, I spray on this scent and it helps with the homesickness.
The fact that the scent is very sexy and sophisticated is a plus!

The part that i prefer is the dry down for sure, the stage in which the generic and intensely sweety fruity-floral initial wave (jasmine, orange blossom, rose and peach) starts to be combined and enveloped in a less sweety but warm, spicy and sensual base that reminds a bit the after smell of the womanly sweat mixed with floral deodorants. In the course of the final stage the note of amber is starring, the note of sandalwood impresses woody taste and stableness to the general warmth, a touch  of green exudes from blend, the floral notes go merging and receding in order to let a legacy of sophistication and rosey indolence, the spices start working while a human link of musk-civet gives bodily warmth and a touch of "laundry-cosmetic" to the all whole concoction. Faint longevity. Uncompromissingly feminine.

Obsession is one of the sexiest perfumes ever. Warm, spicy, alluring, sensual, romantic and classic. This is beautiful vanilla scent for cold night. It really keeps you warm.
Dark vanilla and musk... this gorgeous scent is for femme fatale.

The color of the bottle is gorgeous, also the bottle. Simple design, yet it contain true love potion and gives you boost of self confidence. No man can resist this masterpiece.

Very long lasting and strong, so you need to spray just one time on your skin and from about 30 cm distance ant than it shines in it's full beauty.

I love it!

Obsession, well what can I say, a true masterpiece is what you are.

This fragrance is everything that you could ever want in an oriental. It's spicy, warm, incensey, sensual, beautiful, rich and utterly breath-taking.

Unfortunately Obsession does tend to turn away a lot of people with its opening, which is indeed very heavy and thick, almost polluting the air. However, I cannot urge others enough to let this fragrance develop, because that's where the real magic lies.

When the initial intensity subsides, Obsession transforms into an alluring and comforting spicy-sweet scent. Vanilla, incense, cedar, amber, jasmine, coriander and a variety of spices all blend together creating a delicious aroma that is almost good enough to eat.

When tastefully applied (that is, sprayed sparingly), Obsession is somewhat mysterious and utterly gorgeous. Unfortunately many have been exposed to this fragrance when its wearer has overloaded themselves in this rather potent juice, therefore resulting in many people disliking this scent.

I think it's a shame that a lot of people dismiss fragrances from the 80's simply because they find them dated or too strong. One thing that's for sure, they don't make scents like this anymore.
