It's powdery, sweet and warm, with a hint of dirt and nail polish remover. Quite attractive, quite sexy, but it smells a little musty - let's see, say you sprayed on a beautiful amber floral, did your nails - and then went out for the evening. When you got back home after the night, your skin, hair and clothes would still be strongly perfumed. You take your clothes off, don't have a shower and collapse into bed. When you wake up the next morning, your clothes and your hair would smell of Dior Addict.

I can totally understand why some people love this. I indeed loved the eventual dry down, after quite a few hours wear, the deep vanilla was mouthwateringly sexy! But the first hour or two were just awful to me - I now understand it when people compare a perfume to bug spray. It was so sharp and strong, I could never wear this myself but can enjoy iy (in moderation) on others - definitely not one to over-spray.

I have had my bottle for three years now. I know they're not technically supposed to last that long, but as far as I can tell, it hasn't turned... I don't use it often. It usually gives me a headache, which I have determined is the effect of the Night Queen Flower. However, on certain days, it seems to sum up all of my sexiness and burst it forth in a subtle way, and those are the days that I love it. I see it as a lipstick-wearing cousin to the eau-naturelle Dune.

First impressions often being... so wrong... I decided to try my gift-bottle of Addict again after disliking it.
After all, conditions vary, and Dior can surprise you.
So I gave it another shot, wore it for a few days and sad to say, it is nothing special. It has something to do with the way it just flattens out, the way it just lounges around on your skin, too lazy to really do anything. Not addictive, despite the name.

If someone gave me a bottle of Dior Addict, I would definitely use it until the bottle was gone. It does have a lovely, although sharp vanilla aroma and I love vanilla. I just couldn't find anything so special about it that I would go out and buy a bottle. So I would say that it is pleasant and I would love to smell it on others, but I just didn't see that it was special enough considering all the lovely vanilla based perfumes out there.

The first time i smelled this one I simply had to ask the girl wearing it, what it was.I thought it smelled really nice and had a slightly caramelish feel to it.However ,once I tried it on myself I didn't care much for it.On me it simply smelled awful.I almost felt sticky after applying Addict. It smelled candy.Nothing ore, nothing less on me.A shame really, cause with the right skin chemistry this scent smells really nice:)

I love love love vanilla, and thought Addict would be right up my alley. Not quite.

Sometimes I like Addict, the blatant vanilla IS right up my alley. But sometimes, I find it nauseating bordering on repugnant. There is a note here that becomes so cloying. They list a couple of florals in the description that I'm not familiar with, one of them must be the culprit.

I almost bought it blind, thank God I didn't. I couldn't even finish my sample. Good one for the vanilla lovers, if you aren't done in by the mystery sicky note.

I think it is a lovely perfume and should make a perfect scent for oriental lovers who are looking for something lighter but do not want to part with a sweet vanillic scent. It will make a perfect scent for summer and for daytime - and can be worn in any occasions. I doubt anybody will find this subtle seducer offensive or unwelcome.

The whisper of a summer wind stirring the luscious treetop of an evergreen tropical tree. The large shiny healthy-green leaves gently murmur a tale of warm delight.

Addict is a fragrance of abundance and is soothing, comforting and refreshing.
It is deep and calming, indulgently rich with the fragrant gum resin of benzoin, which is the dominant note throughout the composition. It is creamy-vanilla like, but not in the gourmand context (though it is mouthwatering in many ways!).
The benzoin is supported by some other woody and balsamic notes to give it its amazingly effective characteristics of a woody vanilla-scented refreshing perfume.

Top notes of budha wood (a slightly smoky and more dry sandalwood-like wood) and subtle green-leafy notes; extremely subtle heart notes of rose and jasmine which later on develop into a luscious and irresistible creamy gardenia petals. The deepest root of this tropical tree is the benzoin accord, supported by vanilla and woody notes.
Addict is rich, creamy, indulgent, and very refreshing.

Whilst expecting Addict to be a dark, vamp fragrance, I found it to be completely harmless, and oddly fresh and vibrant and warm all at once. I do feel that there is something in the name though: the subteley of benzoin (which here is exemplified by synthetics to give it a more diffusive power - the actual benzoin has a very subtle scent that is hardly noticeable when other notes are added) - it just calls you for smelling it more, and more and more - and yet it never feels enough! The scent is deep and subtle,a and never quite overwhelming.

Wasn't sure about this one to start with. its a little stronger than my usual, but i now find when im in a wintery mood or for an evening fragrance it is plesant. it contains an unusal flower that only blooms once then dies, how sad! sorry my review isnt as poetic as the one above.
