Soapy, powdery gardenia. Goes on with a sharp edge, but dries down beautifully for a drugstore type frag.

Lots of bang for the buck here -- a definite must-try for fans of White Shoulders, Jungle Gardenia and White Diamonds alike.

I agree with 1711's assessment on this one. I recently picked this up @ the drugstore (for nostalgic reasons and a cheap pick me up) and once I actually smelled it I noticed the similarity to Michael and instantly realized why I liked them both. This is a great vacation-ey scent.

I consider myself fortunate to be among those who can wear this lovely, reasonably priced scent. Although I had access to all numbers Chanel and many other classics this was a favorite high school fragrance. It is girly, subtle and pretty. I still reach for it in the summer months because it brings back memories of summer vacations, boardwalks, beaches and my favorite lime green bikini!

I loved this when I was younger - such an intensely feminine fragrance. And then, one day, I realized something: it smells like Spic & Span cleaner! Oh, no! Now I can't enjoy it anymore.

I l-o-v-e-d this one when I was younger. Used to wear it all the time, and couldn't quite explain why I liked it so much.

Then Kors came out with Michael, and it all became completely clear to me.

Sand and Sable, to me and on me, is a lot like Michael, albeit stronger and cheaper (I guess one goes with the other).

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with Michael, simply because it's more refined; however, Sand & Sable to me is not a no-no at all (even though I ordinarily avoid "drugstore" brands).

Sand and Sable represents my first real appreciation of tuberose, that kind of "a-ha" moment when you find something that really, really speaks to you on an intrinsic level. Though there are also gardenia and jasmine at work here, as well as a peach note and some green flourishes, what grabbed me the most from the beginning was that buttery, rich, velvety, in the least bit sweet call of the tuberose. I remember trying it on at some drugstore and walking up and down the aisles sniffing my arm and thinking, "what IS this stuff?" I was fascinated with it. A number of years later, when I first encountered Fracas - same thing. Sand and Sable's a very good introduction to the whole tuberose-gardenia subcategory best defined by Fracas, Versace Blonde and several other dryer, almost champagne-like yet rich combinations of these and other notes. I would recommend it to anyone who either already loves this type of scent or wants to learn to love it.
