Found this on the Internet. It's not the same as the "original." I haven't been schooled in fragrances, but I noticed immediately that something was different. My nose knows.

Although it is a quality Fragrance, this Sandalwood is very linear, and more akin to a cinnamon scent than any other Sandalwood I've known.

The staying power is very, very low, and dries to a spicy scent that seems more edible than enjoyable.

It's not an offensive or poor scent, but 'Eau de Cinnamon' would be a better name, in my opinion.

Much like the original Sandalwood, an optimal choice to smell, great, altough a bit formal, without breaking the bank. For all the fans of classic fragrances outthere, i recommend this one, however only for the ones who clearly know that they love sandalwood scents above all and are not repulsed by an almost medical or (why not) culinary quality of spicyness. Some laethery touches towards the drydown, whcih make it more complex, manly and classy. More than just a cheap, reformulated, marketable, commonplace refolmulation of a true classic, as it oozes individuality, discretion and timelessness.

Of these 3 scents for men that are in production, the one i like the least is Sandalwood -there are lots of better sandalwoods for men out there- but that doesn't really mean that it's a bad one at all, this one is a very wearable one, I have to mention though that the older version of it seemed to be a bit better, denser and creamier and the new one it's a bit sharper, even though the sandalwood used seemed to be the same in both. It's certainly masculine (as are all of the men's line of C&E) and it's certainly elegant (ditto) but it's not really breathtaking. It's very faint.

I don’t care for C & E’s Sandalwood. Sandalwood can be lovely, mysterious, and evocative; but this one has an aggressive take on that scent. This has a heavy wood-bark vibe and is very soapy in a pungent, rubbery-sharp, industrial-cleanser type of way. It is good for clearing the sinuses I suppose, or inflicting torture on friends and self! This seems one-dimensional, and I can’t find anything to even faintly praise. The spices (probably coriander) which should be good are poorly done, too heavy, and are not nuanced at all.

Highly delicious edible scent. Composition is one part sandalwood to one part musk, and a sprinkle of spice make this more edible. The EDT is light and does tend to be more musk than sandalwood towards the end, and I would recommend getting the shower gel to layer with the same EDT or another sandalwood EDT on this. A nice comforting scent, but lasting power isn't all that great.

Sadly, my favorite scent of all time. Actually, this is the scent that started my love for fragrance. I was given a shaving cream by them as a gift when I turned twelve, "welcome to manhood" kind of thing. The scent haunted me for years until I found the cologne. Now, it haunts me after I put it on because as everyone says, it has no longevity. Lasts a little if you spray it on clothes. Best five minutes of my life.

Subtle? Try non-existent. No lasting power on me. Caswell-Massey's is much better, far less expensive, far longer lasting, and considerably less linear.

Now I have not often been a friend of C&E fragrances - although I hve often shopped for other very good items at C&E - but this Xmas past I received a bottle of Sandalwood Cologne which I really like. It lasts all day, is subtle and soothing. It gets my thumbs up.
