The thing with this perfume is that I was given a .5 oz bottle of edp as a wedding shower gift four years ago by an older family friend of my husbamd's and had absolutely no interest in it until I saw it in a discount cataloga year or so ago. I recognized the name and wondered if it was the same as the small bottle I had stashed in the back of a drawer, which it was. I looked it up on here and, upon finding tis review page, decided that maybe I'd give it a try, which is exactly what I did, today.

Anyway, down to business. The opening blast was really alcohol-y , and I remembered why I never wanted to actully wear it. But that burns off soon enough and it becomes really flowery. I don't know if it's some sort of lily that dominates it or what, but if this scent were an actual bouquet, it would be fine. But it is not something I care to wear on my skin again.

I wondered if this was a fragrance the lady who gifted it wears, or wore at one time and wanted to share. At any rate, I respect whatever intention she had in giving it, but, sorry, it is just not for me.

What happened to the wonderful, wistful white floral that had great sillage and staying power while remaining transparent and soft? Diane Von Furstenberg thought enough of this one to name it after her daughter! I can only guess that it suffered when it was sold for mass marketing. I do know that she tried to buy back the fragrance line because of what had been done to it! For those who never had an opportunity to try this back in the 70's, I am truly sorry. It was a triumph. I give the old one five stars. I would not give two cents for the new one.

I had used this back in the 90's when it was very strong and sharp that it made my eyes water and my nose run. It was that strong. Thank god it softened down! And it was quite nice, still a bit strong for my tastes, but not awful. It is at the beginning. Then, I got a sample bottle at the .99 cents store and it's sooo weak and flowery, not at all like it was back then. Hell, it's a completely different perfume! Anyway, I'll pass.

This always smells cheap and synthetic to me. Available in Australia as an eau de toilette only, it has no staying power, and that's the best thing about it. Please there are better florals available at good prices.

Those great little DVF wrap dresses came back, so why can't Tatiana come back also? It is a great little scent. Is there any NON-discontinued perfume that smells a lot like it? I have been searching, but have not found it yet. I find it depressing to order discontinued scents...I feel like a fragrance junkie when I get them.

The notes in this scent are orange blossom, bergamot, jasmine, narcissus, tuberose and musk. Nothing very unusual or unknown to my senses here, however, when I wear it my nose gets a sharp sort of 'stinky' note with no idea where it is coming from! It may be an unlisted or indiscernable green note. In any case, Tatiana is O.K. after it settles down. Definitely not one of my faves, but it IS a unique blend.
