"Chypre?" "Spicy?" This really must be a fragrance highly dependant on chemistry.

On me, the opening of Sicily reminds me of a slightly sweeter Caress Soap. On a GOOD day it dries down sweet and warm like sweet coconut scented skin by the beach. On a bad one, it end ups smelling like banana musk.

I had to give it a thumbs up even though there are times when just the thought of the heavy, thick sweetness gets to me. But when I DO wear it, I always wonder why I don't do so more often. Plus it has great sillage and lasts all day on me where my skin usually eats up fragrances.

By looking at the name I expected Sicily to be something citrus, rosemary, and light something sunny and bright. No! Sicily is of classic proportions: Strong, with a heavy floral, it speaks of maturity and sophistication. Shortly after the bergamot opening, the jasmine and rose from the middle join the bergamot in mixed floral bouquet. The mid notes have a strong soapiness to them, and the accord is held for a very long time. The drydown is sandalwood that is a bit powdery – well, actually, I get more floral iris than “powdery.” I don’t smell any vanilla, but I believe I do get a whiff of the heliotrope that is supposed to be there. I quite enjoy this fragrance even though it didn’t turn out to be anything that I expected. I would agree that It would demand some maturity to be worn successfully. It’s an interesting fragrance a classical anomaly possibly a bit out of place in the twenty-first century ...

Smells wonderful! My little sister wears this, don't ask how she pulls it off, she just does. It smells rich, and very elegant! I must say though, it is for older women.

However, a 16 year old girl came to buy No.5 just the other day for herself, EDP too, so i don't know anything anymore. Leave me alone ^-^

Such a gorgeous, elegant fragrance. Has this been discontinued? I can't find it anywhere anymore!

I find it very odd that so many reviewers thought this scent was clean and soapy. I get a totally different impression when I wear it. It makes me feel as if I am exuding this smell from my sweat, like it is a part of me or my own natural animalistic musky odor. For this reason I feel very sexy when I wear it, almost like I am a little dirty from being out in the hot sun all day but with a remnant of ocean air on my skin mixed with some citrus and soil. It is really dark and sadly romantic but in a natural agricultural way (I'm not sure if anyone can make sense of what that means but it's the only way I can describe it.) Needless to say, I love it and will probably always make sure to have a bottle in my possession.

On white paper - Sicily is all the wonderful things every previous reviewer has written! When I wear it, however, it goes a bit musty on my skin. Maybe I'll spray it on my sheets instead ~ it is truly a well crafted scent!

If this is what Sicily smells like, where's my villa? I'm moving. Just close enough in the aldehyde and base notes to remind me of Femme, yet different enough with the tropical island florals to create something new. Sicilian bergamot, honeysuckle, jasmine, black pearl rose, hibiscus and musk. Yes it leans towards the floral side, but who cares when it smells this good without being too foody!

Smells like soap,(old times LUX), use it when you want to give impression that you have just been on shower.

I think this is perfect homeparfum, spesially for bathrooms.I use it there.

Soft, romantic, a fleeting sexy whisper, an ocean breeze, warm, relaxing & sensually clean all rolled up in one. While I don't usually go for this type of clean scent, I find this one sexy with wonderful bamboo & floral notes upon drydown. My only gripe is that it has a bit of a 'funny' scent upon drydown (so does Light Blue on me.) Sicily doesn't have the staying power of the D&G for Women.

Since wearing this in the warmer weather I've gotten so many compliments. DH loves Sicily, his first compliment was- "That smells nice & expensive!" my mom commented it as well- she said it smells like some expensive German soap she used to buy overseas

Great heavy fragrance reminiscent of the old french classics. The EDP version smells sweet, floral and loaded with apricots and honey. Strong floral elements as well (lily of the valley & gardenia?). 2 spritzes will keep your dame lovely for the whole day. The Monica Bellucci ad is amazing too. 5/5 Matt/Sweden
