Deep Night (2001)

Deep Night is gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. The peach and apricot combine with something else, perhaps vanilla, to make an almost grape-like accord. The musk and woods create a smoky, sensual feeling. This reminds me a bit of Antonio by Antonio Banderas, only more fruit-forward and many times superior. This is certainly among the best feminine scents out there. This is aside from having the coolest bottle around.
The witch on the broomstick crossing a crescent moon on the back of the box is also excellent.

I love this unique scent! Deep but cool & smooth woody vanilla w/ touch of apricot & peach, the flowers in the background add a little creaminess.. really nice on summer nights.

The shower gel is a little masculine, the woods are more prominent.

To me I associate Deep Night with cold winter nights and clean crisp winter days. Maybe its because I was given this as a xmas gift. On me it's rich and sweet but not cloying or heavy and it stays until its washed off.

I'm a newbie so I can't define everything in it but all I need to know is it will remain one of my all time favs.

Ghost Deep Night is a deep, rich, rounded fragrance, that makes me think of a long note held on the cello. It reminds me of that moment just as night falls, when the transition from light to dark temporarily stills the wind, and all the scents of the earth are intensified. The visual I get with this is of a full moon rising over the ripples of a dark lake, with breezes whispering through the surrounding pines.

I don't mean to imply that there is either a water/marine note, or a pine note--there isn't. It's just a feeling.... There is a deep peach-plum note in this fragrance, very much like the peach-plum I detect in Femme and Alchimie. There is, however, no clove or moss as in Femme, and no sparkling note as in Alchimie. What I do get is a floral of some kind--something not common or readily identifiable. Maybe cyclamen? There is also a touch of amber, and sometimes I think I detect a fleeting hint of vanilla.

I would probably not attempt Deep Night for office wear. For me it's just too evocative of darkness and mystery. This would be a perfect fragrance for lying in the grass on a summer night, staring at the stars. Or a midnight ride in a canoe, on that moonlit lake.
