Very Irrésistible (2003)

I'm surprised by how many people dislike this scent. In my opinion, it's lovely.

It's rosy without being strong, too mature or predictable. The roses in Very Irresistible are soft, pretty and feminine.

The scent actually opens with the roses and powdery softness of the other florals. Strange, because with most fruity florals, the citrus and fruits are most dominant in the top notes.

This fragrance eventually softens and transcends into the heart of this scent where some fruits, possibly orange, are present.

I like the sublteness of the overall scent. It's comforting and pretty, making it wonderful for wear in Spring and Summer when you don't want anything too strong or too overpowering.

I actually applaud Givenchy for taking a risk with this scent and producing something that appeals to a different age group. Previously Givenchy had created Amarige and Organza, (just to name a few), which are lovely but just not suitable for the younger consumers. Very Irresistible, on the other hand, is perfect for them, and has now since spawned many different versions, including Absolutely Irresistible.

I highly recommend this fragrance as a scent which will appeal to floral lovers as this perfume is more flowery than fruity. It's lasting power is good and it's guaranteed never to offend.

Dreadful. The synthetic anise note is what gives it that "magazine paper" smell. Utterly horrid and cheap-smelling.

That said, I have a passionate hatred for licorice, anise and fennel scents, so it may be a personal bias. I just REALLY dislike this, it makes me feel ill in the same way licorice candies made me want to retch as a child.

lntensely sweet oriental. l agree with Suga that this is "rosy but not smelling like a rose". lt's not bad, but it didn't last long on me, & l much prefer Stella for my rose fix.

Many years ago, when I purchased this, my tastes were quite different than they are now. I think the Liv Tyler marketing really sold me as she seemed the epitome of modern glamour/ sexiness to my much younger self. I was also into rose-based fragrances at the time. I don't think I ever enjoyed wearing this however - on my skin this turns into simply overripe synthetic fruits. Always cloying. I always regretted the times I pulled it out of my rotation. Eventually, my nearly full bottle made it's way to the donation bin. No desire to revisit.

This is quite a heavy scent, in a sharp way. The florals are quite bold, I would consider it more mature than a lot of the releases in this price range. There's a nice faint green-ness in the dry down. Longevity is pretty good, sillage is above average for this kind of scent, you don't have to use much, but by no means overpowering.

For something floral, I would say this is quite accessible for even those that prefer sweeter scents or bold statement perfumes. It's probably right in the middle of the words youthful and mature, the mature young lady should enjoy it.

Very Irresistible is one of the greatest parfumes of Gyvenchy along with Ysatis, Organza and Amarige.

These four beauties share in common a strong, seductive and feminine scent.
Ladies who wear these fragrances never and never won't go unnoticed!

When Very irresistible was released caused a great impact, everyone seemed to love this fragrance, i think liv tyler was one of the causes, but the scent is amazing so /Good marketing + Good scent: One of the Greatest Fragrance
