Aromafit (2001)

My wife won a 100 ml tester bottle of this fragrance as a prize at a Lancome beauty event. When read all the 4 notes it had, it sounded a bit weird: just orange, tangerine, basil and... carrot.

As an "eau de forme" (supposedly less concentrated than an eau de toilette) for aromatherapy uses or as a sporty water for gym, it felt strong enough on my wife's skin, lasting about all the day. Don't seem to have a classical top-middle-base note structure, it smelled the same way all the time. The orange and tangerine notes gave the standard fresh note, the basil gave the green note, but the carrot... can't feel it, but gave a special surrounding note, something between a sweet note and an earthy note.

It's a fresh, relaxing fragrance, for use at spring and summer seasons (although my wife used it in winter at home and felt nice), as a more-complex-than-a-common-cologne daytime fragrance. The range of age don't seems to be restrictive, from tennagers to (sporty) grannys.

What Gatorade is to real fruit juice, AromaFit is to real orange blossoms. Herein eminates an impression of orange (whose sugar content is not too high) and something mildly vegetal (not too green). Very pleasant and eye-opening without any sharp citrus edges. I don't think of this as a regular wear-all-day fragrance, but more of a scent treat--one of those items to keep in the fridge for a chilling spray to help change gears after a hot, hectic day. It doesn't last long, especially the orange portion, so my interest in it wanes in a short time. I won't seek more once my decant runs out, but I appreciate having known such an original scent.

One of my favorite Lancome scents - ornage juice and carrots - no kiding! Sweet, tangy, yet somehow has that vegetal freshness thanks to the carrot. SLightly green in its finish, a perfect scent for summer and not even a hint floral!
