The opening starts off straight away with the nite that gives this scent its name: violet - in medias res! Soon a restrained brightness-infusing heliotrope with a jasmine undertone with hints of iris are added, but the violet remains dominant, only that a green tinge is noteable, as if hiding a bouquet where the flowery violin fragrance mingles with the fragrance of the violet leaves.
Later on a mild musk develops in the base, which is smooth and without any sharpness, the the violet reigns supreme until the end.
I get moderate sillage, very good projection and seven hours of longevity on my skin.
A great spring creation, and one of the most convincing high-quality violet scents I have come across for a while. This house, after over a century still a family business striving for quality, does not cease to impress me. 3.75/5.
