Unlike most fragrances, where the notes dry down using the traditional pyramid structure, Allure is different. According to Chanel it is "Multi Faceted" and "cut like a diamond with 6 facets which overlap, with no single note dominating". The EDP was launched three years after the EDT

I have been using Allure for years. I started with the EDT when my mother gave me a bottle for Christmas about ten years ago. Since then I've been hooked. It is one of my staples. Though I try other perfumes, I always make sure I have a bottle of this on my dresser. I live in a country with very warm and humid climate and I find that this is one of those perfumes that smell better in the afternoon (a number of men said so), after it took some time reacting with the skin and a little perspiration. I sometimes spray it on before going to bed because I especially love the way it smells in the morning after it has ripened during the night.

This is definitely a classy scent. I don't know if having this from Chanel makes me think that way, but I have always thought that this is a very good composition. Everything is so very well balanced.. Not too much flower, not too much vanilla, not too much citron.. It changes a lot from start to dry down and I enjoy smelling every note in it during the day.. I strictly recommend EDP which is leaves a great and not overpowering vanilla smell behind.. I will always keep one bottle of Allure in my collection..

What a difference the level of concentration makes! It's night and day, betwen the EDT and EDP, honest. With the EDT I could only smell generic alcohol and couldn't understand for the life of me why they had called it "Allure". I would've called it "Meh".
But then came the Eau de Parfum. Oh, joy. The richness, the florals, the basenotes, everything fell right into place. Definitely all woman, really rich and classy. It's a classic, and it's an instant go-to scent. I've been coveting it ever since it was released, although at 27 I feel I still have a little maturing to do before I can wear it with 100% comfort. I LOVE IT, though, I really really do.

This is possibly the most sophisticated and stealthily sexy perfume I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. Allure could not be more appropriately named.

The scent is a silky, or maybe chiffon-like veil over your skin until it finally melts in and becomes part of you. Very successful way of creating a modern perfume in the school of "it is something you smell of" (rather than old school "it is something you wear"). And despite being so modern, it smells like an instant classic.

Layering produces very good results with Allure - the rich body cream is to die for.

Simply perfect! Really wearable perfume, not heavy, not light. Balanced.

Gorgeous fragrance: complex, rich, great sillage. Different notes display prominently depending on your body chemistry. Unforgettable.
