to me Chrome classifies as niche. it's an amazing release which is often mocked upon and laughed at, but to me it's a landmark and an remarkable acheivement in perfumery. the way notes interplay with each other and it does so with such amazing clarity, zing, Effervescence and possesses the capability the shake you up "fresh" and it stays that way. the mere thought of applying it after shower brings on a smile. and about the lasting..wow, it has stuck on me thruout a swelterin afternoon out in the sun, sweating profusely, but this one refuses to die out, instead it mixes with sweat and gives off a fresher feel, sorta like a filter.

and who would notice that this amazing concoction has tea notes with blunt natural lemon spiked with bitter orange rounded off with a musky cloud which gives this gem a powdery, transparent, clear smell...

i by now have got introduced to Serge Lutens, 5 of the Creeds, and other so called Niche brands, and i wish they had released this gem. but they didnt, this was god's gift for common people like (me) to enjoy.

This stuff is awesome.
It's one of the few fresh citrus scents with good longevity and sillage!
Sometimes the drydown is insane...
I remember being in the buss, and I was asking myself "hmm, who is smelling so good here". Untill I realised the smell was following me to my house and in my room... It was me who smelled awesome!!! Damn this stuff is great.

I know it's considered 'played out', but I can't help but like this scent. It starts out a little sharp and synthetic, but dries down to a very pleasant floral accord. It's slightly sweet but far from cloying (unless you bathe in it). Great for the summer and projects amazingly well. While longevity isn't too spectacular on my skin, it lasts very long on my clothes. I've been reaching for this a lot more lately as an increasing number of people inquire about it when I'm at work. It smells a lot like CK One but Chrome is stronger and has a metallic note.

Chrome is citrus fresh. But not detergent fresh (Dunhill Fresh). I like Chrome but strangely, I could not wear it everyday. It seems to be a better version of CK One. Better in terms of composition, longevity and sillage. Great for summer and daytime. Casual and office occasion. Longevity is great on my skin (more than 5 hours).

I agree with most of the positive reviews.

Yes, Chrome is very synthetic (like other Azzaro)
But it is so soft and pleasant, not what is assumed of Synthetics.

Yes, it is also very plain, but this is not necessarily bad.

Fresh laundry clean smell, good (and inoffensive) sillage, lasts and lasts, and is also very linear (another thing I view as positive).

There are better "Generic fresh" type of colognes (dunhill fresh), but this came out 10 years ago.

I think if less wore this it would get more play here.

I can't fault Loris Azzaro's work here.
CHROME is in fact a great scent for its price-point. Its the kid brother to the grown-up 'Platinum Egoiste', as both share not only a similar name, but also qualities that make each of them unique.
Chrome is sharp, crisp and penetrating. Its composition is quite perplexing; one might ask how citruses, green tea, amber, leather and musk accords amount to something so clean and pronounced. Whatever the case, it is an accomplishment. I wore this some years ago and was always complemented on it without fail.
Chrome is inoffensive and suitable for wear during the day or evenings. Two thumbs up for versatility and price.

Crisp, generic citrus for a couple a minutes. Just wait, and then the interesting part begins: green leaves mixed with a soft, fresh note that reminds of newly washed clothes. There is a faint note of extremely clean musk, too. The middle notes give the impression of a nice and mild freshness that is not overpowering; it also has a distinct 'chilly' quality. This cold accord is slowly warmed up by woods. The longevity is decent.

Note 1: There is a metallic note that is similar to the metallic note in Davidoff Echo. It is not particularly strong.

Note 2: The scent stays fresh even in hot, humid conditions.

Note 3: The middle notes are (under certain conditions) suggestive of newly-fallen snow in a forest.

This is incredible. Definetly go for this. Azzaro is so grossly underrated. I wouldn't categorize this as a fresh cologne. It is spicier and a little metallic. I wish it would last longer though. But this stuff is totally worth it. I'd keep buying this again and again.

I got this as a gift
At first I didn't like it at all, sprayed on paper or wrist didn't gave me a good 1st impression, rather synthetic smelling, with a strange sour musky scent.

Another thing is that you have to be really careful not to spray too much, otherwise you smell like you want to cover something up, like you didn't shower for weeks for instance
The sourness in the top and middle notes can be easily associated with body odour, the synthetic note pretty much does the "cover-up"

One spray however and covered by a shirt the smell is really nice: discreet and soft.
Dried down on the skin the synthetic note and the sour musk aren't there.

Not a spectacular fragrance, but to me it smells just that bit more sophisticated (if used in small doses) and different than scents like Aqua di Gio and CK one/be.

It won't be a classic (although it exists 10 years already) but I am enjoying it while my botle last - very likely not going to buy a new bottle.

Sharp, clean and crisp ~ like a freshly laundered and pressed white cotton shirt. Appropriate for most any occasion. Comes across as manly. 'Put together' without being overly primped. Inviting and friendly, I do find it quite memorable.

Very fresh, a little too common but far better than Acqua di Gio.I would like to say that this one is very complex for a fresh cologne.

Smells like the 90s because everyone wore it then, even my grandma and her 12 cats. Not so bad if you like the 90s, but don't expect something ground breaking and contemporary.

Very solid scent that some of my co-workers wear on a regular basis. Would especially use at the office because of it's clean floral accord

I like this as much as CK One.Actually, it initially smells better than CK One,but quickly becomes the same scent.Since I already have CK One, it makes no sense to have the same scent in two different bottles. This is for those who like CK One, but who are bothered by CK Ones unisexuality. It kinda amazes me that they dont seem to share the same notes, but you get the same smell.

I bought a bottle of this as an impulse buy at a purfumania in the mall. I am really satisfied. It's a light cologne, aimed at youngin's. I'm only 18, and it's totally appropriate. I like it a lot, and the drydown is nice. It doesn't cost a lot, and people give you a lot of compliments. It's a good one that everyone should have in their wardrobe. A lot of other colognes smell like this though, which is a negative.

I hate comparing scents. In fact, I rarely do because each and every scent has it's own differences. But if you take the lid off of Chrome and take a whiff, it should remind you of CK One. When actually putting it on though, you will probably notice more of a floral scent than CK One. Very strong lasting power, which makes this Citrusy/Floral scent perfect for Spring or Summer days.

It opens with a bright burst of citrus/ aquatic with a metallic undertone sharp, but only sharp enough to add energy and interest. Definitely synthetic, but the synthetic-ness is attractive and fits appropriately with an EDT named ‘Chrome.’ Its floral midnotes are more subtle than its opening. The base notes are light, traditional, and woody with the persistent echo of the signature metallic note. Chrome is young and clean and quite modern. It is generally non-offending. It throws a respectable amount of pleasant sillage and stays without variation or quirks for a good long while. This is why it is so popular: It is well blended, non obnoxious, has excellent longevity, and, for being one of many light fragrances, it is neither a cK one nor a mE too. Chrome is its own person.

Quite a great, fresh scent! It's a lot like a good, smoother version of Pleasures with good longevity!

I don't agree that it smells like a popular perfume. It's not all cliche' and is very tasteful. Wear in winter than summer to make it last longer. Premium class like Chivas Regal.

It is a rather ubiquitious scent for a reason...it rules! Haha...seriously, though, in the 4 or so months since I've really gotten into cologne, I've owned either bottles or samples of roughly 20 different colognes, from Creed to Armani, and out of them all, this is my favorite. And although I wouldn't want to date a female that liked me only for my cologne, I have to say that this is the one scent that has gotten the MOST attention, by far, from the opposite sex. Heck, people in general. I don't wear it as often as I might like just because I've been going out of my way to broaden my scent horizons and I do like variety. This is my "go to" scent for now, though.

Fresh, but tempered with warm mossy notes that dry down to a classic sexy and masculine sandalwood base. The modern gentleman's scent!

Chrome is a good safe scent. Doesn't offend, but doesn't really impress, either. It has that "popular" smell to it. Very similar to CKOne. Otherwise, a good casual scent with great lasting power.

ITS FRESH AND CLEAN and its perfect for those that cant tolerate stronger fragrances...this clean light fragrance is a MARVEL....its common but who cares!!! and by the way i find CHROME much better than CK one...MUCH MUCH better

This one is like CK1 with a more musky, masculine twist. However, even though this fragrance is marketed toward men, I think it is crisp and fresh enough to have a unisex appeal. It also has great staying power, and because of that it's one of my favorite scents for clubbing & going out on the town.

Chrome is a clean floral scent. Granted it’s not a particularly ‘out there’ scent but in some cases a simple scent is a good scent. Chrome is a fairly conservative scent yet it still has adequate silage. I doubt you could find many people under 30 years of age who dislike Chrome. I think the Chrome has a slight masculine essence to it however females could wear Chrome quite easily. It could be classified as a unisex scent I guess, but we all know that’s not a bad thing.

Chrome makes a fantastic summer scent however it is great in winter too :D
Chrome has a good duration on my skin. It should last at least 6 hours. Females love Chrome, I have received plenty of compliments on it at uni. One girl kept asking if she could hug me so that she could get a closer smell.

Overall Chrome is a great and versatile scent for all occasions which everyone will love, except for maybe the older fragrance connoisseurs :P

A fantastically refreshing scent with citrusy topnotes which combine marvelously with green freshness and rosewood. I find the rosewood to be prominent in the drydown and the freshness is accentuated with maté long after application. One of my favourite summer scents!

if you're looking for a sharp, clean scent for summer, you really can't beat chrome. it's not very complex -- in fact, it's about as straightforward as you can get -- but it does what it does better than anything else in its class, period.

Well, I bought this fragrance after reading all the reviews here. At the shop I have tried it and at the beginning it was really like CK One. I was very hesitant in whether I should buy it, since there are so many clones of this fragrance. There are 1 euro equivalents, of course. However I decided to take the risk and I bought it - it's not that bad in the long run. For me it is just an average fresh scent. Well, the magic began later. I sprayed it twice on my hand and on my shirt and immediately after going at the office I received a compliment from a cute girl :) At the launch another girl asked me what I was wearing. And my sister also asked me about it. So, I had three compliments the very first day. I will see what will be tomorrow... :) By the way, it is lasting for the whole day and although it is almost identical to all these CK One-ish fragrances out there, it has very subtle yet pleasant afterscent that dominates after an hour, and thus makes it possibly the best variation of that smell - others are either too sharp or too sweet; this is just the right one!

Simple test. I was thinking of purchasing this fragrance, but was a little held back by it's presentation. So I ventured out a few days in my local mall. Each day I went to Macy's and had two fragrances sprayed on my arms (one on each arm). I had Chrome on one arm each day. I ventured out an only approached women for their opinion. EVERY time they chose Chrome. Even after their whining, I did not reveal any of the scents that I was wearing. Because I wanted to drill this scent, I put it up against, Dolce & Gabbana (which I LOVE but a friend wears... gotta be different), Curve Crush (only because it's selling like crazy, I don't see why), Angel for Men, Gucci Envy, and Visit (not sure, but someone claimed this was better... the women didn't think so). So I've made my choice and bought it and am very happy with that decision. Women love this one on me, as I can care less what guys think. So, take this post for what it is, it won't smell the same on everyone. Ask the woman first, they have a better sense of smell anyway.

I just started using this one and I must say, I always did like it, but never considered buying it. I've been using it for three days now, and have received on average five compliments on it each day. This is definitely a keeper!

When this came to market I thought cool Azzaro is coming out with something new. Well it not so new. I love the scent but it does resemble CK One but having more classy notes and scent retention.

This scent lives up to it's reputation. I don't see it as being outdated by the newer refreshing / citrus products. It's simply clean, fresh, long lasting. When just plain smelling wondeful is enough, this fragrance is perfect.

One of my initial acquisitions when I first began this hobby/obsession. Although I eventually parted with the partially used bottle I did think that it was a well-made and VERY versatile scent, but that, given subsequent launches of other similar items, its type has been better done. Still a great scent though.

Brilliant in every way. It has a sharp, citron top note that bursts into a musky, spicy drydown. It is extremely versatile, and one could wear it in either tux and tails or in jeans and tee-shirt. The ladies love it, and you just feel good wearing it. Also, you don't have to suffer the indignity of sounding like some foppish dandy when people ask (and they will ask!)what you're wearing: instead of doing linguistic somersaults trying to pronounce some French nom du parfum, you can give 'em a look as cool as this fragrance and simply say Chrome.

Absolutely positively intoxicatingly fresh and bursting with citrus. I've found another favorite. It looks exactly like it smells. I acquired a mini bottle of this and it will not last long. I've heard the babes go nuts for this too. Big surprise. I don't believe any guy can go wrong with it.
