Reminds me of 212 Men without the huge green leaf squelching feelings. I wish I didn't look at the note pyramid while smelling this. I don't get any of it at all and the whole thing is just simply overbearing. My first thought (before reading the note pyramid) was it's a soapy spicy scent that just rolls of my nose like a eloquent phrase roll off the tongue. As the fragrance cooled down I found that it got less smooth as the notes played with each other. There's just too much going on. Way too much green stuff going on here like woods and leaves and herbs. Not great to confuse the senses but enough to keep interest.

D & G Masculine is a fresh, clean fragrance. It opens with a very pleasing citrus / green accord—clean, fresh, and lasts quite long for a citrus. The switch to the middle notes is quick, once it starts, and creates a clean, nicely balanced, rather composite herbal accord that doesn’t project very much. The middle herbal nature continues the freshness of the beginning citrus with even a little ozonics stuck in there. I find these heart notes to be quite engaging, but I would like them to have a little more strength; however, this is likely the way the target market—younger wearers—would like it. The base also emphasizes the light and refreshing characteristic with lighter woods, vetiver, and tonka. Though it is not a fragrance for me, I rather like this pleasant fragrance. It is aimed at the younger market and this one of the better ones of that usually mediocre genre.

I'm sorry, but this perfume is very harsh-smelling.

First, it starts off industrial cleaner + Lemon Pledge-smelling.

Then, this is given OOMPH by a harsh-smelling peppermint...

This is only reinforced by the woody base.

Ergh! I wanted to love it, but in so forcing myself to do so, I ended up hating it.

Disregard my previous "neutral" review- this is vile. I *liked* this on first sampling, but a few months later bought a full-size bottle and realised that I'd made a mistake. However, only recently did I realise how truly nasty this stuff is; the mutant offspring of a generic 1990s CK-One clone, Versace Blue Jeans' chinese notes and lemons. Lots and *lots* of lemons. It's somehow bland, dated *and* in-your-face offensive. Yes, it smells like a youth-oriented scent, but due to its cheapness and lack of sophistication or originality rather than any youthful freshness, vitality or optimism.

That harsh lemon stench disgusts me.
I really havent smelt it after the drydown, mostly because i wouldnt be capable of standing the lemon stench until it had dried down.
Dont buy this fragrance!

Bought it online for very cheap price, but had never smelt it.
Opened the package, very excited.. spirtzed a little on my wrist and was disgusted by the harsh lemon leaf smell.
10 minutes later, I sniff my wrist again, and smell the most divine smell. Beautiful.

It's funny, but the first scents I noticed were the "cooking spice" middle notes. It was an interesting smell, but not entirely great. After about a half hour, though, it matured nicely into something I might wear for a night out.

This is an excellent fragrence. I wear it regularly to school and it's been only positive compliments. Very fresh and for young people. I enjoy the citrusy aroma, so it does not displease me. A high-five to D&G for making this.

Lemmon on top of fig and thyme. I like the drydown ok but the lemmon in the mix makes the overall fragrance sickening. I also cannot stand tonka beans.

Have to disagree with my two highly respected colleagues Ipaid and Scenteur. It is indeed a simple citrus, but hardly bland. Quite contrary, it is very recognizeable on it's wearers due to a strong mint and herbal midsection which also makes it much more manly than many others in this genre. A summer staple, especially considering it's low price.

Absolutely repulsive. The lemon and 'masculine' elements repel each other. Ewww.

Disappointing and bland. Citrus bogged down by 15 other unneccesary ingredients that just blend into one indistinct composition.

does what it says on the tin. it is very 'masculine' but is a bit of a young smell. probably not one for anyone over 21.

LEMON LEMON LEMON LEMON ... crossed with lemon. Did I mention lemon? Honestly, it smells like Pledge (a furniture polish for those outside the States), and I may one day get beaten up for wearing it, but I love it! If you are homophobic or allergic to lemons, stay far, far away from this. Otherwise, buy it.

D&G Masculine is a great, modern take on a classic, lemony citrus scent. Very simple and fresh with a strong lemon note, the freshness of peppermint, a slight basil spiciness and a woody base. It heats up as it dries down and the citrus notes fade. It becomes very woody and spicy, in addition to having nice, light notes of grassy vetiver and creamy, sweet tonka bean. Smells like something our UK friends would have made. Masculine is very fresh, uplifting and long lasting. It's a great ally in the battle with summer heat.

A wonderful combination of old-fashion men's cologne with contemporary style! It reminds of very familiar retro masculine scents (as if going to the barber's!), but it dries out sweet and woody. Very-very fresh and making you wanna smile! Not many fragrances evoke so positive feelings and create a state of well-being. Everytime I wear it, I feel the positives vibes all around me, as every one asks me with an expression of satisfaction: "What's smelling so nice???" I adore it for another reason, too: IT LASTS ALL DAY!!! (at last, a fresh perfume that does!)

This is 90% of a great scent. I enjoy the other two D&G's but this one is missing a note that holds it all together. The peppermint note is a bit too much as it comes off as fresh almost to a fault. Not a bad scent, but it's lacking something to hold the whole thing together.

...Anyway, I am really starting to appreciate this fragrance. The more I use it, the more I like it. It's more complex than the ordinary citrus scents, and it doesn't really smell quite like anything else--I think of it as a citrusey scent backed with a nice smokey, woodsey base. It has a hint of woodsey sweetness without loading up on the vanilla (I'm not a big fan of vanilla), which balances out the fragrance quite nicely.
