I'm going to sound somewhat curmudgeonly, but I have to admit, I despise this cologne. I have tried to like it and worn it half a dozen times but it simply offends. I would describe the basenotes as an overt and abrasive blend of cinnamon, black pepper, effervescence and amorphous, unidentifiable sweetness. It is piqued, overpowering and unpleasant. Extremely synthetic. Also, incidentally, I hate cinnamon in cologne, which may be odd, because I love cardamom. Cinnamon isn't listed in this one's pyramid but it's all I can think of when I spray it on, cinnamon hard candy dissolved in a black pepper effusion. Overall this was a one-dimensional cologne that I have tried and failed to enjoy, and there are few I don't find the proper mindset or occasion to truly enjoy. It is amongst the part of my collection that I will seek to sell or trade; I wouldn't waste another day or evening on this bottle. 01 September 2008

Just like mix fruit candy.....A bit different stuff but definately not for me. Vanila based dry down....I don't feel any musk. Too sweet for men. Low sillage and longevity......All thumbs down for this one 14 August 2008

If you turn a blind eye to "Dunhill Edition" you can't find any considerable thing in the Dunhill's collection. A garbage of terribly sweet / sour smell..strong accord—I hate lollipop notes in the opening, because makes me sicken. This one has a lot girlish manner which is created for teenager crowd. Nearly identical to Ferrari Black, they are both extremely fruity and strong, sour / sweet blends—it hurts my sinus! It's really.. really bad.. it's horrid! Forget it. 14 November 2006

This is perhaps the most offensively foul cologne I have ever smelled. In showing no disrespect to posters above who seem to enjoy it I must note that we all have our opinions, but there is no denying that this is DEFINITELY a "Love it or hate it" scent. It is extremely pungent and distinct, so be weary if you are going to purchase it without trying it out first. It is not for the faint. 10 November 2006

To me it just smells like candy (skittles to be exact) and soap perhaps. From the moment i put it on until it has totally faded it has a cloying sickeningly sweet smell to it. On me it never develops or warms, it just stays TOO sweet. Some have compared Minotaure to Desire, but personally they seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum (but perhaps the minotaure i smelled was old and had gone bad). It just seems like a sweet mainstream "me too" kind of fragrance that i would not want to be wearing. 27 December 2005

Desire is terrible. When testing it, my biggest Desire was to scrub it off with a brillo pad and comet. This is a synthetic, cloying mess. It smells like some one spilled apple slurpee mix and tried to clean it up with an even sweeter vanilla scented cleaner. The worst gourmand I have ever smelled. 21 September 2005

Smells sickly sweet and synthetic. Very commonplace and totally unconvincing. 04 August 2005

Not a bad fragrance, but not great. It lasted about an hour on me and then disappeared. 16 March 2004
