Quite delicious, actually. Synthetic in a pleasant way. Fruity, sweet and vanillic-musky fragrance in lovely bottle. If you are looking for compliments, then this is a "can`t go wrong". Just don`t overload, 2-4 sprays will be fine. I find the lasting power to be quite flawless. My girlfriend told me it reminded her the way some specific My Little Pony toy use to smell. Ouch. 12 September 2008

I would describe this one as cheap and cheerful. Nothing exceptional, but very wearable. I have gotten compliments on it when wearing it in public. It is sweet and fruity, but it never seems to go over the edge to being unbearable sweet or gourmand on my skin. I'd probably not buy it again, but it seems to be an inoffensive, wearable and pretty versatile little number. 18 August 2008

Sweet and citrusy. Nice all around scent for everything. Maybe a little too pedestrian to impress but it's certainly a good cheapo. 12 June 2008

There's not too much to describe that hasn't been described below. The intense sweet, sweet fruitiness is a little too much to bear. It takes about 4 hours on my skin before vanilla and musk are noticeable, but even then its not enough to balance the sweetness that pervades. Desire is sweeter than Individuel. The sillage and longevity are great - it's just too bad there isn't something to temper the topnotes as it dries. Great if you like sweet - avoid if you do not. 11 June 2008

Love it or hate it? I dunno, Im caught in between. I love love love the bottle, bit iffy about the scent. It seems edgy and synthetic to start, but softens agreeably, but then another pervasivly unsettling note comes out to play (synthetic rather than real, natural rosewood, methinks) and ruins the whole matinee... My assessment? The synthetic fruits need to be toned down and softened, particularly in content. Perhaps a dash of oakmoss to provide a tempering dryness? A little more musk, vanilla and labdanum? Anything to provide more grounding, and temper the synthetic, headache inducing top-notes. Sporty indeed. Just bearable to wear out. Nice for school/uni. Needs to be re-editioned, improved. softened. tempered. 06 December 2007

When I first bought this, I sprayed it onto myself in the car. I got headaches and was nauseated by the scent. Hated it so much I wanted to try and take it back to the store. Obviously they didnt take it back as it was sprayed. (or were they bs'ing me?) anyway, decided to give a second chance. I really dislike the top notes, but the dry down is quite nice. Good for warming up with your girlfriend next to a fire. In my opinion, good for intimate affairs. Just dont spray it in a confined space and you'll be alright. But in hindsight, would not have bought it. I guess I was a novice back when I bought it. 13 February 2007

Got the giftset from my cousin last Christmas. I like Desire because one its a sweet citrus scent. You can instantly smell the lime and apple. Which I think make it a distictive scent. My only complaint is that the dry down makes the scent even sweeter. So sweet it makes me feel a little sick. But otherwise I really like it. 11 November 2006

The notes in the opening accord are heavily synthetic; nevertheless, I rather enjoy the effect. This is one of the rare cases where the unnatural ambiance does not destroy my appreciation of the fragrance. The scent is strong, and it could get cloying if over applied. It’s a bit vulgar and a quite a bit common, but, even so, I rather like it. It has a nice dry down—too sweet, but tolerable. Lasts long, too. 29 October 2006

A light, sweet, fruity, smell. I made the mistake of buying it based upon the smell on the card in the store, and not on my wrist. It dried down nicely on the card into a light warm vanilla-musk base. But on me, like RockyMaivia wrote, it never develops into a warm drydrown. It stays sweet, which some people like, but I wanted some more of the drydown. A very unique scent though, so if you like a sweet fruit smell, go for it. 17 October 2006

I don't like sour colognes and they make me vomit. for example: Burberry London (the worst fragrance i've ever use), Dunhill Desire, Desire Blue & Ferrari Black, of course Desire is better than the others. is strong for me & very fruity. Ferrari, Dunhill & Hugo Boss Products are like cheap colognes. 04 September 2006

This is perhaps an example of how a combination of ingredients can trigger a subconsious association in a persons mind. When I smell this I think of cigarettes. Not the smell of cigarettes but the smell that someone who would smoke cigarettes would wear. I am going to check myself into a psycho-analyst now! 23 August 2006

Confirming what's already been said: Similiar but inferior to Scultpure. Desire is a clearly synthetic smelling creamy musk on me, with thick and sometimes cloying fruity top notes. I don't know if it's my body chemistry but when I spray it on I just detect the apple, vanilla and musk, none of the other notes at all. When I first discovered this fragrance I loved it, but the attraction has waned over time. 07 November 2005

Ah, to desire Desire. I've had this fragrance for a few years now, and although the collection, and my nose, has grown quite fond of the niche offerings, I do reach for Desire every once in a while just to see how far my tastes have progressed. Not a bad scent at all, it's one of those few that have an apple note, though the patchouli takes over well into the dry-down. Somewhat reminscent of Mesmorize by Avon, I believe. I'm sure Desire can be found for a decent price on the internet which would place it in the bargain-bin purchase. Not a must-own by any means, but not the red-headed stepchild either. 07 October 2005

I agree that it's very similar to Sculpture by Nikos , except Sculpture is more well-rounded. Desire has a vary sharp sweetness to it, with some spice. Can't really see it working on anything but younger people. 13 September 2005
