A stable in the wardrobe of many and the unforgetable smell of the brother of my grandfather, my uncle Gino that for 27 years had lived his life between Italy and Venezuela. I remember as child the times he came back with his grease on hairs, the white clothes and the aromatic English Lavender. I smell  similarities with some traditional  Creed's creation and i see the association with the Royal Scottish Lavender that Naed Nitram underlined. The fragrance starts with a marvellous citrus-lavender accord to die for. The accord retains an herbal feel along the trip because of the addition of clary sage and rosemary. The last is great with its aroma of mountain. The evolution slides towards a mossy woody smell with the smoked touch of tonka. The outcome is light, woodsy and masculine and while being dry tends to soften despite the absence of balsams, vanilla or myrrh. Ethernal fragrance that many will never intend to pull apart.

Atkinsons English Lavender is exactly what is says: a dry, herbal, astringent, spicy English lavender that is far removed from the sweet vanilla/tonka syrup of Caron PUH. The opening is a fresh blast of lavender that is followed by a spicy heart of clary sage and clove backed up the resinous spice of rosewood. The base is a light tonka-moss-musk accord. Worlds drier than Caron and not as dirty as Oxford and Cambridge. English Lavender is very masculine and quite simple is comparison to more complex lavender fougeres like Arome 3 and Patou pour Homme Prive. I'd like to think of Atkinsons as a lavender dominated bay rum almost. The scarcity of Atkinsons products does not help their cause one bit! Try their Gold Medal Eau de Cologne if you can.

When I was pregnant I used to shower with a bar of a lavander soap. I tried to find the same clear relaxing and self aware scent. English Lavander is not only a clean scent but ends up with a woody drydown that makes a classical lavender something more distingushable and original. What I like about it is that can be layered on any other lavander product (soap, talc) adding to the mix an distinctive note. I feel good when I wear lavender but I am always afraid of givin an unsofisticate impression. This fear is minimised wiht English Lavender.

The row materials guarantee e very deep and longlasting perfume, whit a classy touch and fundamentally relaxing. It's such a cup of tea: alertness and relax, and a very positive mood booster!!! higher reccomended, and very affordable furthermore.

A fresh lavender that is pleasing and not harsh and not bolstered by a vanilla note. Sage and rosemary is used instead to give it a more herbal scent and is soothed with a divine bergamot/citrus accord making this a rather lovely and linear lavender cologne. Darned good lavender.

Beautiful, fresh lavender top note that lasts longer than most of its competitors. The rosewood/clary sage middle notes truly extend the lavender and prolong it rather than fighting against it. I particularly enjoy this scent's very extended long-lasting dry down of tonka bean, moss and musk. One of the best lavender scents I've encountered.
