If you wish Fahrenheit would speak up or Joop! would tone it down with all that yelling, In Red might be worth a try. It's a floral and herbal scent with a woody and semi-sweet vanilla/amber backdrop. The style has since been done to death but I enjoy how the base sits back while the heart notes seemingly jump out to poke my nose when I sniff it. Particularly smart use of rose.
In Red seems the most modern of this series and I don't think many would feel out of sorts wearing it today unless they dislike the sharp dryness of sage or the 'greenness' of galbanum. It's a little bit sweet, spicy, and sporty, and samples can be found for cheap. I particularly think fans of Allure or Egoiste should give this a spin.
