Reviews of Imperial Leather| Pleski AustraliaShow all reviews | After many years I still find this perfume fresh, natural, masculine and sensuous. It is still sold in Australia, mostly as after-shave in men's shaving packs, and it doesn't seem to age. The sensuality and sweetness of the lavender and vanilla is somehow rendered less floral, more primal by the woody, earthy textures. It doesn't seem to have any of the synthetic and bitter qualities I detect in even good modern perfumes, and its transition from top to bottom notes is almost seamless. The perfume seems to be appreciated by both men and women equally, old and young, but seems to me better suited to men over 35. 8th February, 2010. |

Bayleys was eventually bought out by Cussons in 1921 but Imperial Russe was nor ressurrected until 1938 when the original perfume was used to create soap and other toiletries by Chairman Alex Cussons - it was originally Russian Leather then eventually ....Imperial Leather. 28th January, 2009. |

I am sad to say it is very cloying and get up your nose stuff, which I dont like at all. I'll stick to the soap and have a squirt of Mugler's cologne or Dunhill Original instead. 5th July, 2008.
