woody tea accords blended well with spices in a tranparent way...i see Guaic wood listed, but it doesnt feel that way..longevity is average too. overall, not a bad scent, i mean, it;s a Kenzo, they rareyl go wrong. however, if you have a wardrobe of 80+ scents, you'd want a better reason to buy this one. definitely sample. a 1oz bottle shud be good to go... 20 September 2009

Well, I really liked this one at first. I had a pretty favorable review posted, but I had better edit it since my opinion changed somewhat. Turns out that a little goes a long way, and I have grown quite tired of it. Sweet, powdery nutmeg from start to finish. No real reason not to give it a shot, though. Be a good boy and finish your sample before buying a bottle! You might decide you don't need more. 15 August 2009

In its review about GF Ferré Lui/Him SirSlarty wrote that "with a weak sillage I find it to be a scent to wear for yourself". Part of the scents with a strong or predominant note of nutmeg is, for me, more to wear for yourself than to announce your presence to the others, in the sense that is somehow pleasant, but doesn't have "that" sex appeal. Take the "S.T.Dupont Noir" for example ... excluding the top notes, I think is a scent which has a nutmeg character during its drydown, pleasant and a little warm ... close to the skin, like GF Ferré Lui/Him (this is heavier than that Dupont). In Jungle pour Homme we have a long long road until reach what could be a pleasant nutmeg note, and once I enjoy pleasant scents I do not have patience to wait until there. Sex appel? Sorry, I can't imagine it ... and I don't see it as a romantic, serious nor elegant scent. Is, for me, a strong one which should work better during the very cold days. The combination of Lime, Maté with nutmeg and woodys looks unusual but strongly familiar at the same time: it remembers me animal cages in a circus, most of all during its top notes, which take a long time to fade away. During its drydown things start to work better, but still not enough (for me) to enjoy this scent. Unusual, yes; a criative work, maybe ... But it must be one of the most stinkies perfumes I have ever smelled so far. Like, dislike or indifferent? Dislike, so thumbs down! 12 August 2009

Amazingly, this fragrance really lives up to its name. Almost immediately after smelling this fragrance, I was reminded of animals grazing on a dusty savannah. It is true that this scent begins with a touch of citrus (lime) on top of an animalic, cumin/mate, woody note. I was taken aback by it because I'm a younger guy and I'm not really accustomed to smelling animalic notes in a cologne (with the exception of Kouros). Some reviewers have described this scent as "sexy", but I would argue that it actually just smells like sex. It has somewhat of a musty genitalia and body parts smell to it. I know it sounds strange, but that is the affect of the nutmeg, spicey woods, and, I believe, cumin combination. Once the fragrance dries into the heart and base notes, you are left with a dry but aromatic fragrance with a hint of powdery sweetness. That animalic prescence has faded leaving a woody and sweet aroma that's hard to describe. Its not sweet like chocolate or vanilla; think sweet like a marshmellow that has been rolled through the woods picking up dirt, branches and some dry grass. All in all, I am continually impressed by Kenzo's ability to capture a concept in his fragrances (Kenzo Pour Homme, Kenzo Jungle, L'eau Par Kenzo, etc.), but I would never wear this. The cumin/animal note kills it for me, yet it is the crux of this finely constructed fragrance. I could see a more mature gentlemen (35-40 and up) wearing this as a casual cologne. I would not necessarily describe this as strong per se, but I would say it has a prominent scent. I found the sillage to be about average and the longevity to be great. I'll give it a neutral for creativity and execution. If its still in production when I'm 35 yrs. old, maybe I'll give this intriguing elixir a try. 18 June 2009

Jungle pour Homme opens with an appealing candied citrus rind and spice accord that evokes holiday baking without slipping into syrupy excess. What smells to me like an indolic orange blossom adds animalic flair as the scent develops, while the spice resolves firmly toward nutmeg. Tonka and buttery woods, especially guaiac, establish a smooth, plush olfactory texture that strikes me as the chemical equivalent of dark velour. Once the woods and nutmeg fall securely in to place Jungle holds to a linear course for several hours. When it arrives, the drydown is a soft, coumarin-infused woody oriental structure, which while appetizing, is too dry to rate as truly “gourmand.” At no point in its development is Jungle a loud scent, and while I wouldn’t call it weak, it neither projects too far from the skin, nor leaves clouds of sillage hanging in the air. Despite the moniker, it’s a polite and subdued oriental that would not be out of place in the office. If you’re familiar with Armani Code for Men you’ll have a fair idea of Jungle’s overall demeanor. It’s undeniably pleasant, it won’t offend anyone, and nobody will remember it after you leave the room. If you like this genre, you might want to try Habit Rouge or Jaïpur Homme, both of which run along vaguely similar lines while packing much more punch. 12 May 2009

This is a very good designer fragrance. It is somewhat similar to D&G`s By Man both in the way they smell in general character of high quality. In fact come to think of it… I’ve been many times wondering who is that one perfumer behind the By Man, and I seriously now think that if it was not Max Gavary (most likely was), then it has to be O.Cresp. Jungle Pour Homme is a perfectly balanced late nineties oriental-fougere. Wonderful mixture of sweet juicy citrus notes, warm spices such as nutmeg and pepper, plus powdery woods with smooth vanillic feel. Has also a very subtle, animalistic twist to it. Lasting power is excellent. I love the bottle and the box too, but when talking about the scent itself, this is something which actually could have been easily launched by some self respectful niche house. 03 February 2009

Kenzo Jungle is classified as an "oriental" fragrance. It is, for me at least, very rich when you first smell it and put it on. It has a sweet scent, and doesn't really develop all that much. It smells about the same throughout the day. It is a very odd fragrance, but basically it is rich, sweet, and a bit flowery. I thought it was women's cologne for a short time. 02 January 2009

Seems like a love it or hate it fragrance. Reminds me more of pine and cedar trees and Christmas time. GF Ferre Lui is remarkably similar to this funky smelling spicy oriental. 11 October 2008

I expected rich, dark and deep from something called Jungle pour Homme, rain forest immediately came to mind. Nothing came out of this bottle but disattisfaction. I just washed it off. It seems to be something teenagers would enjoy wearing imo than adults. I went to another website and the women said that if you wanted something exotic and spicy try Kenzo's Jungle for Women which I plan to for they said it could easily be unisex. and although I'm not a hugh licorice or anise fan I'll at least purchase a 1.7 or mini. I can't imagine being more diappointed than after having laid out my hard earned jacks for this bottle. 03 July 2008

I didn’t know that someone could have, at the same time, a headache, nausea and dizziness… then I smelled Kenzo Jungle. Fortunately, I felt that way just the first time I smelled it. Kenzo Jungle is one of the most aromatic scent I know. It’s very “colorful” and “joyous”. Maybe, a good choice for Oktoberfest or some rock concert. It’s quite original (in the long run, all Kenzo’s scents before Tokyo are original). I wear Jungle mostly with some conspicuous clothes. It goes along very well with my gaudy orange sweater. 08 April 2008

This is a fine fragrance. A little heavy on the cumin at first, but then dries down to an appealing scent that does, indeed, last a long time. This fragrance is very similar to Unforgivable by Sean Jean, although I prefer Kenzo Jungle. It is not a casual fragrance in my opinion, but more suited for the office or an evening out on the town (a winter fragrance due to its heaviness). I personally love it! 18 December 2007

The top notes are outstanding: a citrus / green with the sweet lime contributing a wonderfully clean Hesperian counterpoint to the warm, grassy mate. The green of the maté dominates the opening, and there’s a definite aromatic element present from the beginning. It’s such an unusual opening accord—the conflict of the aromatics, the cold citrus, and the warm maté / nutmeg forms a challenging and, I think, beautiful accord. I can readily see why some reviewers dislike the scent—the combination of aromatics and nutmeg builds an accord that is probably an acquired taste—I have certainly acquired that taste. The nutmeg comes on full force—I love nutmeg and this nutmeg note here is beautifully done—it is clear, rich, and extremely assertive. It dominates for a long time with the woods from the base contributing to the depth of the accord. I really have to be in the mood for nutmeg when I apply this fragrance. The base cedar and Gaïac are so dry, aromatic, and dynamic that they give off the impression of being incense. At its end, Jungle is primarily an aromatic cedar fragrance with a supportive nutmeg partner. This is a strong fragrance but it projects only an average amount of sillage—at least on my skin it doesn’t respond with a lot of sillage. It has excellent longevity. Jungle is unique and intriguing, and I love it more each time I wear it—those times when I’m in the mood for nutmeg. 24 May 2007

I found this scent supremely repugnant, a combination of bug spray and urinal cake. One spray will last and last, but in this case that's not a good thing. 14 March 2007

An extraordinary ultra-longlasting fragrance. It is a bit strong, but still subtle, spicy and now a classic.Be careful: one click will last u all day long, probably two if you go to a party, but do not exaggerate with this one:you will kill everyone(including the bugs). 25 October 2006

I have to say it: It´s kind of camp, but i just love it. I wear it sometimes in cold winter and it´s just perfect. It´s trendy, wears you and last long ages!. I quite enjoy the lime mixed with the maté and mallow seeds and the cedar. Kenzo has created with this fragante a new concept: The first ever Citric/Oriental perfume 30 August 2006

You will stand out wearing this in the states; oriental scents are not as common here as they are in Europe. I'm on my third bottle. I would avoid the aftershave though, it has a somewhat 'stale/rotten' smell to it which clashes with the eau de toilette. 31 March 2006

Love this frag on my husband. There is real depth to the intoxicating blend of lime, nutmeg (coconut?) and spices. This one is totally masculine and very 'nuzzly'! 11 March 2006

Sweet, so called exotic scent that lives up to its name. Loads of sugar, some notes of tea with lots of honey, but above all an intoxicating smell of coconut. Like coconut-flavoured chocolate bars melted down into a cologne. 28 January 2006

Very strong, but it has an unknown bitter/acid note that I unlike (maybe the lime or mate, a smoky herbal tea). It's the kind of fragrance that leaves a trail behind one. 15 November 2005

This is a nice incensy fragrance with sandalwood base that puts Santal Noble to shame IMHO. Lasts long time and has great sillage. 05 November 2005

Great spicy cologne in the vein of Gucci Envy, ST Dupont Signature etc. Masculine, incredible staying power and nice looking bottle. Buy the frag, DO IT! (ben stiller voice ;) ) MMM 16 March 2005

Love the bottle! The fragrance is definitely sexy and attracts a few sniffs from others! It is highly reminiscent of Eau D'Hermes, which seems to have more depth, IMO. I find that Jungle should be worn in moderation, for it can get a tad cloying if overapplied. Lasting power is okay, could be better. 29 January 2005

It's a HOME jungle with fawning tigers and smiling boa constrictors kindly showing you the way through to a long deserted ancient city. Light herbal top leads to oriental spicy and a bit chypric heart with woody base. I'd say it's lightened and herbalized Moschino's "Uomo?". Has some original character to it. For all seasons and all times but those extremely high temps. 18 July 2003

An absolute favourite. Always gets positively commented on and the fragrance lasts all day, mellowing out nicely. Sometimes hard to find in Duty Free shops though - anybody know why? 17 June 2003
