to me Karma is a tradition as in "Karma" itself. I don't understand what about hippie scent, but this one could kick and stick for a whole day on the skin. Bold tangerine with slight patchouli (Nilam-in Indonesian) base. It might cheer up your day or burn down your figure in front of your clients. Choose one deliberately.

Karma in adj:
leve 1: tangy
level 2: sour juice
level 3: mumbai tambourine

This would be OK as a candle, but not a skin scent. Very sweet, orange and patchouli, cassie absolut, lavendin, lemongrass ... carry it around to wake up a person who fainted. Very sharp scent that will "stun" you and not in a good way. They say it's very popular, but I just do not get it. Not for me.

Love this one. Perfect for me. Strong enough and lasts long, you donīt need to add it during day.
Mystical, oriental scent. In my sorting it goes with Shalimar, but Karma is sweeter.

Karma reminds me of an Indian shop- with scented candles, colorful teacups, essential oils, canvas bags with beautiful prints, cozy ramie sweaters and other lovely things. I go to that shop sometimes just to absorb the soft scent of sandalwood soap and candles, touch unique fabrics and get lost in all the colours. If that ambiance could be translated into a fragrance, I'm sure it would smell something very similar to Karma.

Spicy orange oil is definitely the heart and soul of this fragrance, with warm, earthy patchouli in the drydown. Lavender gives it a mild herbal boost, and I'm pretty sure the pine oil is responsible for the touch of greenness. Sometimes I smell the sweet acacia and other essential oils, other times I don't. Maybe it depends on the weather or my nose. I love wearing Karma in autumn and winter. It makes me feel extra cozy and warm in my coat. I like catching a whiff of the spicy orangey scent in icy-cold air. It's silly- but I feel embraced by a golden/orange aura when I wear it.

Karma is a potent fragrance but not as strong as say... Youth Dew or Aromatics Elixir. (which I both like, btw) You need a spritz or two, not more than that. There's nothing generic about this scent, it's not watered-down into some middle-of-the-road fragrance that will appeal to everyone. So be prepared to love it... or hate it. It's definitely unique and sticks out. To me it's a keeper and a modern classic.

The bottle is simple- but cute. The price is a bit steep, but considering the amount of natural essential oils I think it's worth it. Will repurchase.

Ingredients: DRF Alcohol, Perfume, Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin), Orange Oil (Citrus dulcis), Lavendin Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Pine Oil (Pinus), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon flexuosus), Elemi Oil (Canarium commune), Cassie Absolute (Acacia farnesiana), *Cinnamal, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool.

Suitable for vegans.

PS I have the solid version of Karma, which is the exact same scent, and very lovely, but I prefer using the original just because I can spray it on my clothes.

Orange, patchouli and vanilla. Another great hippy creation from Lush. I adore Lush's bath and body products, but never really have liked the EDT scents they have produced. Karma smells divine in the body cream but it gets too sweet and cloying in EDT formulation. I give the cream a four star rating: it is all about the orange and patchouli and less about the cotton candy type of vanilla; but the EDT gets a two star rating from me for being much too candy sweet.

I really really wanted to like this because I wanted a solid perfume to take on vacation. It's either my body chemistry or my nose but all I could smell was sweet orange. I kept thinking about those old Orange Julius drinks I used to get at the mall in the '70s (loved them, but don't want to smell like them.) I didn't get any complexity or much patchouli in the end. Just inordinate sweetness. However, others have said they find it unsweet. Weird.

I can't stand the edt - it's throat-manglingly harsh, and you can't get rid of it! It's the reason you can always tell when there is a Lush shop nearby.
But having said that, the solid perfume version is miles better. It seems to skip over the initial harshness a lot more quickly, and it is warmer. I actually wear it, when I could never wear the other one.

Karma is a unique scent, you have to give it that much. Don't even think of using more than one spray at a time, and that first spray will smell a little offensive for about 10 minutes. Almost a Pine-Sol type feel at first. Soon, it settles down rather nicely into a zesty orange scent with a masculine pine kick to it. Once the patchouli kicks in, it becomes this beautifully well-rounded fragrance, with some heavy patchouli/spicy incense undertones. I get multiple compliments every time I wear this, and I've also been told it smells like church incense. All in all, it's a wonderfully unique scent, but not one you can wear every single day without tiring of it.

Please--it seems as if every time "patchouli" is listed in a perfume, the automatic knee-jerk reaction kicks in, and the brain shuts down....Lush Karma does have a patchouli middle note--and by the way patchouli is not a "hippie" note any more than sandalwood is--but its top note is a beautiful orange flower. It's a beautiful perfume but clearly not for the close-minded or faint-hearted!

I first smelled Karma soap when I wandered into a Lush shop in Florence in around 2002. It blew me away, and to this day I think it's the best-smelling soap I've ever experienced. The perfume (and the body cream, and all the other products with the scent except the shampoo bar) is a step down in deliciousness from the soap, but it's still a rich, STRONG hippie scent full of mystery. I wear it when I go to the Fairfax Trading Post or the farmer's market, but not when I teach my class!

No, no, no, no. Wet dog and dust with a week-old bong. Couldn't get it off fast enough.

Comes on strong like hell, and most probably wash it off as fast as they can. But let it warm up for half an hour and you'll have a decent pine/patchouli combo that is very special.

Lush btw makes one of the most true nerolis on the market with their Prince edc, unfortunately lasting power is about 10 minutes...

I went in to test this on a card and the assistant told me there were none "I would just have to use my hand". OH DEAR. This stuff is absolutely, blinking horrific! I cant describe how horrible it is. I had tested it before lunch and I couldn't get the blinking stuff off my hand for the life of me. 4 washes with washing up liquid didn't work, I ended up masking it with a spray of Bazar.
This scent, in my opinion, is what happens when an unskilled hand and nose try to make perfume.
Come back A*Men, all is forgiven!!
