Mesmerize (1992)

I'm a woman, and the older I get, the more often I find the division between a particular man's fragrance and its female counterpart arbitrary to the point of weirdness. Mesmerize is definitely a case in point.

So I've just bought myself some of the aftershave conditioner, which was on sale. I've tried samples, and just really like the scent of the men's version better than the women's, which is nice enough but not that interesting. In the men's, I love the pairing of apple and amber, and the sandalwood drydown.

So <dabbing some on>, gentlemen, stand back, because
I can wear the hell outta this. <evil grin>

Great beautiful scent that just seems to have a lot of depth to it!

I cannot point out any one particular note but to me it is just a tad powdery but also has "Green" and "light woodsy" notes to it.

For what you pay on ebay or from a representative of Avon, I'd say you are getting a great deal!

In no way would I consider this cheap or synthetic. Get it and thank me later.................

This is a good solid sweet, powdery oriental scent that's appropriate for any occasion. I think it smells a lot like Le Male, only much quieter. It's a powdery woody oriental with an overall creamy smell to it. The woody notes do smell quite synthetic, but that fact doesn't hurt the fragrance.

Considering the price of this and the fact that it just smells plain good, Mesmerize is good value, especially if you are looking for a light, inexpensive oriental you can wear any time.

I rather like it, and being from Avon, it is outstanding. The opening is rather blah, but the heart jumps right in and it is warm, spicy and I smell myrrh on it although is not listed in the notes. The best part of this fragrance is the drydown, woody(sandalwood?) with some amber, it has nothing to envy to perfumes a lot more expensive, but then again, is not Creed by any means.
Granted, is not something to write home about it, but for the prize, it ia an excellent purchase.

This review is for the original formula, which is a dead ringer for Samsara. Powdery jasmine, spicy, musky, vanillic sandalwood. A nice run of the mill oriental. Neither impressive, nor offensive, as with Samsara. If you're on a budget and love Samsara, you can find old bottles of the original Mesmerize on Ebay for dirt cheap.

THIS fragrance I not sure, it sprays on at first kinda weird, but the drydown smells very nice, I dont know if its me or its the scent, I do like the notes there useing, maybe I need to try and use this one more often, or maybe its because I tend to like the more darker scents, but I do like it and Im going to keep it in my collection, this realy is different then what im used to .
