I’m a big fan of 80’s powerhouses. When I first smelled MPH, took me few seconds to realize, it was not Bel Ami. I will not compare the two whatsoever, but there is an obvious resemblance.
As it dries down, the Moschino delivers the unsweetened version of amber, leather and moss. In my experience this is a plus. The bite of mace is very intriguing at least.
Longevity and silage are both very good on my skin. Definitely a fall, winter frag. The output is very intense for about an hour, but then mellows into a gorgeous, deep, very well made scent. I love wearing it.
MPH deserves more attention than a ton of 80’s pretenders.
Thumbs up.

This is an edit review. My initial review was a positive neutral rating, but not anymore. I have decided to cease posting reviews on sample wearings and wait until I have a bottle. It causes me to be hasty in my reviews and that isn't fair.

This leather chypre is good to go and has a predominant amber accord on my skin. It possesses very acceptable longevity with medium sillage. Slarty is correct in stating that it's basically linear, but in a very good way.

After finally having a chance to wear this fragrance, I liked it so much I went and bought 5 bottles of it. The leather stays subdued with moss and amber and gives the impression of lushness while never straying to the ultra sweet like some amber frags do.

Big thumbs up from the Cologne Mafia Don.

Leathery moss! This is the end-all of "end-alls" of the masculine leather chypre family. It isn't as strong as other predecessors in the family abut it is the most stable. It's there, stays there and never waivers to far from its initial scent of lavender, oakmoss and leather and I find the bergamot really bitter here.. Smokey and herbal at times, the sillage is average. The mace note listed gave me some watery eyes but do not let that discourage you from enjoying a solid men's fragrance. I had the pleasure of sampling quite a few discontinued fragrances from the 80's and 90's and by far this is my favorite.

Pure masculinity here -- not for those who seek airy clouds of neroli and subtle wisps of verbena. Think Bel Ami. Think Antaeus. Think spice and leather and something ever so slightly sweaty and raw.

A definite try-before-you-buy powerhouse.

I was looking for a scent for my husband, and came across this. Changed my mind and bought it for me. It's a fabulous mix of fresh and spicy opening notes, warming down to moss and amber, clean and sexy at the same time. Whenever I've worn in, people ask what the scent is, and it lasts wonderfully well without being intrusive. Since my initial purchase, I relented and bought some for my husband; it seems to smell quite different on him (less floral).

Love this one...was never able to wear it until recently, always found it too sharp and heavy. Now it works for me though. I love the leather and amber base with typical 80's top and middle notes...Somewhere between Antaeus and DK Fuel.

Really nice potion! ;) Reminds me a lot of Hermes Bel Ami, yet it has subtle distinctions that set it apart. Long lasting, changing character from spicy to a warmer quality. I prefer this to Uomo? Moschino, which is too soapy for me.

This stuff rocks. It's very stong, but in a really good way. Definately a night-time/winter scent. It's heady, but not sugary sweet like Chanel Allure. It has terrific staying power. Probably not something to wear on a date, but definately good to find a date. Similar to the power of the original Ungaro, not in smell, but in strength.
