Ireland - Green Moss opens with a breath of fresh lime and lavender, quickly making way for an accord of moss and spices --- bay leaf, clove, cinnamon --- along with a touch of carnation, ylang-ylang, violet leaves and heliotrope. A hint of musk, along with oakmoss and incense, underscores the base, making the overall composition one of understated simplicity. I think of it as a casual "weekend" scent --- more for daytime than evening, and ideal for a walk in the countryside (tweed cap optional) or by the ocean, ending up at a neighborhood pub for a Guinness or to listen to a local band featuring bodhran, pennywhistle and uilleann pipes. Nothing fancy or pretentious here --- straightforward, traditional, low-key and very pleasant.
