Nutmeg & Ginger (1990)

I just love this fragrance. I would like to try another Jo Malone, but really unsure which one. but my nearest Jo Malone shop is 100 miles away (Leeds), I just don't want to order one online to find out it's not for me.

I love both ginger and nutmeg, but as others have mentioned this fragrance not have enough of the former. The wonderfuly spicy opening, that promises forthcoming delights, quickly disappoints and settles down to a rather tepid nutmeg 'solispice.' I wouldn't mind the nutmeg-only part, because I suspect it would layer beautifully with some of my simpler vanilla scents, but even this part doesn't last more than an hour on my skin, and then the entire fragrance disappears completely. Definitely not worth the price for my particular skin chemistry, but if yours holds on to fragrance and you like nutmeg, it's worth a try.

I bought this and sold it on Ebay after giving it 2 days chance,didn't get on with it at all! A very strong fragrance which smelled predominantly of nutmeg (very Old Spice!). It lasts for ages too (which would've been fine if I'd liked it!)

This is OK, it is a somewhat conventional masculine-styled spicy wood scent. I don’t get nutmeg or ginger as distinct elements, all I get is a somewhat generic spice note. If anything, I think I get pongy cumin notes at times. This reminds me of Roger & Gallet’s Open or some of Geo F. Trumper’s spicy scents – but it is not as good. This is not bad, and if I wasn’t well supplied in this category I might consider it.

This cologne starts beautyfully fresh and juicy with uplifting lemon and spicy ginger notes, but unfortunately the scent dries down to a pale, dusty nutmeg fragrance within minutes. Still not bad, bad not really good neither.

I don't know why but I really love this fragrance. It's one of my favorites, but I only crave wearing it occasionally, and its lovely layered with either floral or fruity scents.
