To me its a fruity spicy sweet scent not bad but not a strong or deep like night totally different version. medium lasting inoffensive but that's the wrong with most CK to me yeah every scent has different signature on the air but most of CK(Emporio too) are nice inoffensive acceptable for the most tastes but nothing more like french and Italian doing.I m a french house fan I can say,the only two CK scents I like and probably own is Obsession night and Euphoria Intense. 29 September 2008

I enjoy this fragrance, but I cannot wear it. The dry-down is just a little too dry and spicy without enough sweetness to counterbalance it. It is also a little too powdery for my tastes. Definitely in a class of its own though, and definitely a classic! Lasts all day and sillage is incredible. 25 August 2008

Pretty good, the sweetness is nice and quite well blended with the other aromas. However, there is something that makes it smell rather dirty and cloying. 11 January 2008

Very warm, but much too sweet for my taste, almost to the point of stinking. My dad likes this and I can't tell if he just drowns himself in it or if the sillage is really that high. Not for me. 29 December 2007

It was too sweet smelling. Last I used it was in 1989, but never bought it again. 24 December 2007

On a card, the drydown was particularly nice, but once I wore it on my skin, this fragrance turned extremely sweet on me - amber and vanilla were the dominating notes, not my favourites in any case. This fragrance appears a little dated to me and while I can appreciate what it must have been like to wear this in the eighties, it is not one I would buy and wear for myself. 14 November 2007

A high quality fragrance and not as commercial and uninspiring as mosr\t CK scents, unfortunately way too heavy and slightly campy and dated. It's apity that the very scent who gets so much credit leaves one - without fulfilling its promise - waiting for more. The night version is much more smooth, complex and wearable. This one however, while not being bad, reeks of a dirty and slightly kinky alpha male. A powerfull and beyond any doubt walthy and successfull man who's refinement did not increase gradually with his rise. It smells of potency, yes, maybe a campy tastye for poweer and luxury, but it has also a backward dad-like element in it, something of an authoritarian family father with a darker and more closeted side. Nevertheless, i resent more the outcome rather tahn the combination as, just like i mentioned before, i can detect not few high quality ingredients, however crushed under a tasteless conglomerate of blunt brutishness. 03 November 2007

I use it when I travel and my bag was full... cos, it is very stable on body. Somebody, especially men, find it heavy. But I think a fragrance is a perfume if it was felt from distance. 11 October 2007

I recently wanted to buy Obsession. I really did. I have fond memories of wearing it in the 80s. But when I sampled it at the fragrance counter I realized that my tastes have changed. Obsession is distinctive and, to me, frozen in a very good time. But it's not for me anymore. It's too sweet, and that's saying something since my primary frag for the last five years has been Givenchy Pi. I *did* purchase Obsession Night. Nice. 26 March 2007

A classic heavy oriental from the 80's. Long lasting and good projection. Nice enough but just too sweet for my tastes. 21 February 2007

I get an "evergreen" or herbal ghost note that I like alot. It's my favorite part, more so than the warm, sweet base. The distinct presence of amber and vanilla allows this to drift into unisex territory. I like this more than Obsession for Women, which smells like too-sweet, flavored coffee. Not sure about either, though. So, until further testing, I give it a hopeful neutral. 01 February 2007

It is ok in limited amounts. I mean, I'm 24, but I think it smells like an old man fragrance, old spice-ish, if you will. I prefer Obsession Night, as it is a strong smell as well, but easier to integrate into an environment 20 October 2006

Try as I may to like this one, it was for so long just so incredibly common in my particular circle, that I simply cannot shake the mental connotations of Obsession. Everyone I encountered had applied way too much ( less is more, folks ) and just seemed so incredibly trendy. Brings back memories of last call desperation down at the local disco, circa 1989, and the dreaded acid wash jean with the pre-ripped knee. If ever a fragrance was stuck in a particular moment, it is CK's Obsession. 14 February 2006

As most of the others have commented, it was overdone by many people, which turned off many more people. It seems that era has passed, and it may once again be safe to use this scent in moderation. Skin chemistry is key though, so test it out first. I find Obsession Night to be more subtle and less cloying that the Original, but both can be used as evening scents in my opinion. 14 January 2006

I find this fragrance to be heavy on the amber and sandalwood with a bit of patchouli by the time it comes off the skin. Before that, however, I find the mix in the mid notes with the clove and nutmeg most pleasant and (along with other notes I cannot detect, though probably the basenotes) giving it a gourmand quality. I mainly associate this with my father(who now also greatly enjoys Claiborne Sport BTW) seeing as this was his signature scent for years. Giving it as unbiased a sniff as possible I can really see enjoying this on my skin. The problem is that it teeters on being too loud ( mainly the musk amber drydown) on my skin. I'll wear this one once a month, maybe. 02 September 2005
