There's not much I can add by way of describing this classic other than to say this... Of all of my many fragrances, Polo brings more compliments from women than any other. Whether its from my receptionist, the college intern, department store clerks, etc., I always get positive feedback. This is a very masculine scent without being horribly overpowering the way others from its era can be (ie Korous and Azzaro ph).

I suggest going easy on application to enjoy. I usually use the after shave and don't need the EdT. The discontinued Polo Crest is basically a lighter version of the original Polo, and I'd suggest seeking out a bottle if you enjoy Polo but find it too strong.

medicocre scent..
top note is too many aromas mixed to make a strong dull scent
base note is even stronger
This cologne could be a HUGE success if it were lightened up a bit. There are also too many smells joined into one which makes it so strong. If one is going to wear this, one spray from about 12 inches is PLENTY!!!

Even though I don't like it, this is the best of all the Evergreen colognes.
There is a sense of refinement and pleasant undertone that makes the over-powering Juniper and Pine tolerable.

I wouldn't wear it, but it's still the best Evergreen cologne I've smelled.

Lawn-mower. Cut, dry grass. Gasoline. Diesel. Forest-fresh toilet cleaner...

Something piney, but not disineftant like at all...

A lot of middle-class fathers and eldest-sons in my neat, well-kept middle-class suburb wear this on pic-nics, strolls around the lake, and browsing at the Sunday Markets.

7: 30 am, like clockwork, on a Saturday morning, I swear I can smell them all going walking down to the lake for a pic-nic or tending their pretentious Bansai gardens and flower beds in this.

Its nice, but for the first 15 years after its release, over-used as a Saturday outing and yard-work cologne. And now that image is stuck in my head.

Sure, its unique and nice and masculine-smelling...but, alas, not for me...

I don't think I need or want to continue here...

My best friend has always worn this, I used to make fun of him and tell him he smelled like a pine air freshener. This is probably the most recognizable cologne ever now and it takes me back to the 80's. The problem is the 80's are the last place I want to be.

I can't fault the fragrance, it is just dated and notorious. The fragrance is the anti-fruity, and anti-aquatic king. Probably one of the best "alpha male" fragrances ever produced but in my opinion is hampered by predictably from it's fame.

Longevity is quite good, in fact one of the best I have ever used, it is a complex scent but it does not reach complexity from one end of the spectrum to the other, it pretty much stays in the woodsy, leather, tobacco side but does manage to hit them all.

If there is one thing I like about Polo it is it's stableness. After the initial blast passes it settles into scent and does not change over the life of the scent while on you. May be boring for some but I am not looking for something that changes through day.

This was the first upscale cologne I ever purchased circa 1986 when I was in college. Polo is a good scent, though not in the "clean" category, and I would not wear it today because it smells the same no matter who wears it. I prefer something that mixes well with body chemistry.

How did this define an era? I don’t really understand it, but alas, maybe there are a few things I am not meant to understand. I’ve never really like leather fragrances like this one, but this is a little bit more tolerable than Z-14 and Quorum, for example. This one is dense, and a bit dated, to say the least.

Admittedly it does remind me of some pleasant memories of the eighties. Still, when this fragrance gets old, it smells really nasty and sour. Because of the trend towards fresher fragrances, this is becoming (like Aramis) a bit of an granddaddy fragrance. All in all, it really does kind of stink.

it smells like diors Fahrenheit but slightly weaker in smell, but it just reminds me of some type of strong detergent, not my thing
