Reviews of Sandalwood| Harvitz81 Show all reviews | First off this is an aftershave and should be reviewed as such. That said, for an aftershave this stuff has EdC like strength (ie several hours). Sandalwood in the name is a misnomer as there really isn’t any in there. What I get is a big spicy, woody concoction. The initial blast of spices is heavy and a bit cloying, but then it dries down into a woody, less spicy base. Although this is an alcohol splash, it contains a lot of moisturizing ingredients and because of that it is one of my favorites. 24th October, 2011. |

![]() Shmitty-the-loverboy Show all reviews | this is very strong for an aftershave and surprisingly moisturizing. Hard to detect the sandalwood, but I guess its in there somewhere. I wished it lasted longer though. As an aftershave, its the best I've ever used. As a cologne though, its only weakness is its longevity. 26th February, 2010. |
![]() fresh aire Show all reviews | This is among the first fragrances (aftershave) I've purchased blindly online. It starts out with a bit too much going on...like boiling cinnamon, nutmeg, and cough medicine in a kettle. A little goes a very long way with this stuff!!! Very strong especially for an aftershave. There is plenty of spice to this in the begining, a bit overwhelming but very masculine. The drydown is where this stuff shines, simmering down to a nice cinnamon-amber scent with everpresent notes of patcholli. Put this on in the morning, and you'll be washing it off in the shower at night...once dried down, this stuff does NOT wear off. Overall a pleasant, old fashonied, gourmet Old Spice, very masculine scent...worth the money though! 7th December, 2009. |
| bokaba United StatesShow all reviews | This is a killer sandalwood and by killer, I do mean that it kills--the wearer that is. I tried this in aftershave concentration and it lasted all day and after a shower even and I only dabbed a little on my hand, too. The opening is peppery and medicinal and then the sweet, incense-like sandalwood kicks in. 15th November, 2009. |
| odysseusm CanadaShow all reviews | D. R. Harris’s Sandalwood has some attractive elements but it is BIG and spicy. It is woody, somewhat dry but also a bit cloying and heavy. It smells like an old wooden chest that has had spices stored in it for a few decades. It evokes the glory days of the original Old Spice sort of scents… definitely old-school. Powdery dry-down, with amber, clovey spice and sweet musk. Not my style but certainly a classic. 2nd July, 2008. |
