Tabarome Millesime is another of Creed's finest, and as a Creed purist I can say that it is a lot more traditionally masculine than some of the slightly atypical and fresh-inclined Millesimes (I speak of the recent Himalaya, Original Vetiver, Original Santal, and Virgin Island Water). To be sure, it hearkens back to the older Creeds from the pre-Millesime era. This makes sense, since it as an update on the equally magnificent Vintage Tabarome. However, this Tabarome marks a stark departure from the Vintage, as it adds some citrus notes (Bergamot, Mandarin, Lemon) and a much stronger, darker tobacco note, as well as adding woody notes of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver. In fact, the only notes retained from the Vintage are green tea and tobacco! As I have said, the tobacco is much stronger and not as smooth in this new Tabarome, but this is not the most significant change. There is one note that I have not yet mentioned which has been added to new Tabarome: ginger! And lots of it. Sometimes this annoys me about new Tabarome, as the ginger is so central here that it cancels out some of the other fine ingredients that have been used. But if I can overlook the prominence of the ginger, I find a scent that is so supple and masculine, reminiscent of cognac or a fine DOCG wine, mixed generously with strong tobacco. In closing, I would say that if I want to project an old-world radiance and elitism, I will wear the more historical Vintage Tabarome. But, if I am looking for a modern and slightly more bombastic and heady tobacco-based fragrance, I will look no further than Tabarome Millesime. A class act, and one that I will never be without.

This used to be a great fragrance....but now it just conjures a 'wanky' image. I am almost embarrassed to admit its a Creed I am wearing for fear of the wank factor now associated with it. Great tobacco scent though...

Whoa! Watch out! This scent is just appalling... if you've ever walked into a place by the beach where the door is left open for the salt air to come in and get stale, then you know what this fragrance smells like. I guess it's for some people, but not for me.

Zingy and fresh tobacco leaves but reminds me more of metallic violet leaves as in NR for Him coupled with Sander for Man. There's some tea and ginger in here too.

So close, and yet so far.

On my skin Tabarome began as a haze of elegant cognac and tobacco, and I wondered where the notes that were supposed to be there had gone.

Within five minutes the haze gave way to a lovely accord of ginger, green tea, and tobacco, and I began to smile broadly. Ultra masculine and refined is the only way I can describe this accord.

And then half an hour later the beautiful accord faded away leaving me with nothing but the smell of a well groomed drunk old man.

I have repeated this experiment with the same outcome each time. If the beautiful accord lasted on me I would wear this fragrance forever, but this is not to be.

This is definitely one that you need to try before you buy.

Well this is my second Creed purchase and i have to say that I like this alot more than I did SMW. Initially I smell a citrus/bergamot note. Then once that fades it smells kind of leather-ish on me. I do find this cologne to be more suitable for the Fall or Winter season. I smell no signs of it smelling anything like Bvlgari BLV. Great fragrance and great buy. if you can, sample it first. I first smelled this in Texas and i didn't think he was selling a real bottle, so I ordered it from neiman Marcus, may favorite store!

A nice mix of tabaco, ginger and vetiver, smoky but fresh. I really like this one.

My first Creed sample and and the first few minutes where great, citrus and ginger. Then 15 minutes later I smelled something that I can only describe as a fat mans B.O. (Sour and rancid)

I'll try this again just to make sure that I didn't have a bad sample.

Good? Yes. Great? No. I really can't help but like this take on tobacco and ginger, but the original Tabarome is simply so much better. The folks at Creed oughtn't have tried to tame Tabarome -- they should have just made this new one and called it something else.

It's a good frag, yes, but it pales in comparison to the manly British original.

Tabaróme Millésime reminds me of the first girlfriend I lived with. She drove me crazy and cramped my style, but I knew that without her, I would have considerably less style. Her name was Ginger; my name was Tobacco.

I think this would be very good for those who want a fresh version of something like Terre D'Hermes or Rocabar.

For me though, It doesn't justify near the price.
Well done though, like nearly all the Creed Colognes.

Tobacco and ginger over a sweet base might sound a lot like the formula for Bulgari's Blv pour Homme, but Tabarome Millesime never gets as sickly sweet as the Bulgari. The familiar Creed millesime base is here, and it takes at most 45 minutes for this base to assert itself over the ginger and tobacco. Once it does I'm left with something not too far removed from Green Irish Tweed, Himalaya, Millesime Imperial, or Silver Mountain Water. Tabarome Millesime would have to stay distinctive for much longer on me to keep me at all interested. It's nice enough, but I certainly can't see owning it alongside any of the others mentioned earlier.

My second Creed purchase is a keeper. From the nose stinging opening of ginger, then to the wonderfully uplifting, green tobacco heart note, down to its sandalwood base, this one is a winner. A fresh scent that is truly invigorating!

I really liked the citrus/green aspect of the way this smelled when I first put it on. However, it lasted such a short period of time, especially when you consider how expensive it is! What was left to me was just the strong sandalwood/patchouli base, which are not my favorites. It smelled similar to other men's fragrances I've sampled at Sephora.

Tabarome is certainly a scent from Creed in my opinion. I am a 28 year old banker and while TM is not a very "pretty" or young fragrance, it does indeed have it's place. If you're looking for a more modern/unisex scent, try SMW or MI...which are both truly amazing. I have worn both of them and currently wear GIT. I must say, however, that Tabarome is the only Creed that girls have not only complimented me, such as with the latter I just mentioned, but all compliments I recieved from TM have been alot more profound...such as one attractive co-worker saying "Now, I REALLY like that one." I think this is because it exudes more masculinity than some of the others. I like the always classic GIT as my main everyday scent, but choose Tabarome as my more dressed sophisticated frag. Anytime you have a strong tobacco scent such as this, that's what it's aiming for anyway. ...not "pretty" but "class."

Gingery, smokey, distinguished, somewhat studious, quite dry, and long lasting, Tabarome Millesime is probably a bit underrated (if that term can ever justifiably be applied to 'a Creed'!) due to inevitable comparisons with it's illustrious ancestor of a different era: the venerable (and, to my mind, more formal) 'Private' (also referred to as 'vintage') Tabarome. Both fragrances share a richness of character, but the similarity ends there, and on this basis, I think Creed might have been better advised to choose a different name for the newer Tabarome Millesime, because it more than deserves to stand on it's own within the Creed range, and to be allowed to cultivate it's own character. Would it be cynical to suggest that the Tabarome name was 'resued' to make best use of the Churchill / Bogart tie-in without upsetting aficionados of the old-school Tabarome by compromising its exclusivity by making it readily available outside Creed boutiques? For me, it doesn't really matter, because Tabarome Millesime didn't disappoint me on any level, and is a Creed that I could see myself wearing and enjoying on an every day basis.

I'd classify this fragrance as suitable for most occasions, but it might come across as just a little stuffy on hot, summers days (when I'd be more inclined toward the foresty freshness of Original Vetiver from the Millesime range), although light application might work for such scenarios... However, Tabarome is equally pleasing for office or outdoor wear, or even for a day of leisure at home, and despite boasting well above average longevity, the fragrance never becomes overwhelming in it's strength or choking despite it's smokey character. For special evening wear (think 'black tie') Private Tabarome would win the day, but despite it's excellence, would many of us be able to pull-off Private Tabarome on an everyday basis?

It's difficult for the newer Creeds to immediately gain the kudos associated with the more historical elixirs such as Royal English Leather, Cuir de Russie, and (of course) Private Tabarome to name but a few, but people do inevitably rate the newer formulas by comparision with the old.

If you like Tabarome, you'll LOVE Cristobal pour Homme by Balenciaga. It is slightly spicier but still has that strong underlying tobacco note. Actually I LOVE Cristobal and prefer this over Tabarome. Also, why spend $180 for a bottle of Tabarome, when you can purchase Cristobal for as low as $27 on the internet. It is just as strong and, in my opinion, smells just a tad better than Tabarome. Seems to have more character and body than Tabarome. Although Tabarome is nice, it can at times have quite a chemical smell about it. Choose Cristobal--you won't be sorry!

Agreed. Ginger belongs with sushi. The ginger does burn off within 30-45 minutes. and then what is left is a very one dimensional tobacco of the 'unsmoked/unroasted', 'green/leafy' variety. Stick with the Vintage.

I'm surprised a scent with ingredients like vetiver, patchouli and sandalwood can be this faint and weak. It starts out freshly citrusy/gingery/watery, with just a hint of warmness and richness from the tobacco, patchouli and sandalwood. Then it fades extremely fast. Perhaps it would work as a generous splash to refresh yourself with on hot days? I do like the ginger note, and the scent overall is not at all unpleasant, it's just so very unspectacular. I guess you could get pretty much any cheap refreshing cologne as a replacement.

I thought I got lucky to receive a sample of Creed Tabarome from a perfume spree the other day. I tried it yesterday and quoting from an online retailer, Creed Tabarome is an intriguing blend of tobacco, green tea, patchouli and ginger with a touch of vanilla. Dry, very long-lasting and extremely elegant. Frankly speaking, Creed Tabarome appeared to be a robust smell fumes from acetone (a common solvent in nail polish removers) with a mix of ashes to me. I felt headaches and nausea post application. I just have to wash it off and rest. I was advised by another basenoter who felt it could be the ginger which was played a huge part in making this scent fumey. I have decided to give this away. I am sorry to say it doesn't work for me.

I don't know what to think of Tabarome Millesime (New Tabarome)...

I bought a bottle of it blind. I'd heard some people say it was just like Bulgari Blu. Well, it wasn't--which was nice, because I didn't want to have another Creed deja vu moment--but I think Tabarome Millesime is more than just a little weird.

The ginger blast can be overwhelming. I agree with CoL that it can be almost nauseating. The initial impression is something like a tart, sour gingery, slightly powdery, aldehydic pineapple smell. I think I hate the opening. Kind of a clammy sensation, the warm and cold at the same time. There is perhaps too much bergamot in the top.

However after a mere ten minutes, it gets much better. The ginger/pineapple recedes and I get a kind of butterscotch note that starts to peek out. I really wish the initial topnote weirdness could be avoided totally, because it gives perhaps a false impression of the scent.

I was expecting something more earthy and opaque--it's hard for me to judge because the opening blast colors my impressions of it so heavily--if I could have just started it further into its drydown the first time I smelled it, my opinion would be different. Also, for some reason I keep expecting to get some leather out of this fragrance and never get any. I've smelled Vintage Tabarome and while it's not for me (reminds me of mothballs), I can see its richness and leathery contours. New Tabarome on the other hand feels a bit underpowered and wet behind the ears.

I'm going to keep wearing it and see if it grows on me-- as it is, this is one of the few times where I am pretty neutral on a scent.

This is one of those fragrances that I just don’t get. When I wear it, it seems that I spend the majority of my time fighting it. I get a lot of ginger (not my favorite note) and a lot of tobacco and a little bit of tea and not much else. Come to think of it, I must have noticed the citrus top notes, because about fifteen minutes after first spraying, the scent becomes less chaotic—smoother: This is probably because the citrus notes were conflicting with the ginger note and when the citruses wear off, the scent regularizes. Back to that ginger note—I do have a problem with it; it certainly can become annoying, especially in warmer weather.

With the drydown Tabaróme Millésime becomes the rich and mellow scent I hoped it would be. The drydown—tobacco, tea, sandalwood, musk and vetiver—is absolutely lovely, except that I would prefer it to be stronger with more sillage; it stays very close to the skin. On my skin, this scent has terrible longevity. With using moisturizers and judiciously experimental spraying, I have it lasting about two hours—this is not enough.

Stylish, masculine and elegant. Tabarome Millésime is an absolute winner. The spiced citrus rings throughout and the tobacco is prominent too. Definitely one of the best hyped niche fragrances here in Basenotes... TM is an interesting composition. It is molto macho but not rich pipestyle tobacco. Yep! it's not a bad thing never, cuz this scent reminds me of a particular time... A time when I listened to Patsy Cline's "Three cigarettes in an Ashtray"... especially in GTA San Andreas! It has become one of my top men picks, and one that I suggest often and perhaps one of the discernible scent of the Creed collection. I actually wear this... it NOW sits on my shelf next to Silver Mountain Water, Tea for Two and Terre d'Hermes. Excellent winter evening scent.

Not bad for a wintery scent. I bought one bottle of it and wore it for a season. It's definitely not for spring/summer. Doesn't zing, though.

Awsome fragrance for fall and winter.. Comes on heavy at first but settles to a very light fragrance after drydown.. This is my primary fragrance I wear to work because its not to strong that it overpowers my coworkers but still carries a really great light scent that everyone loves.. The tobacco does stand out but after a while fades away

This is a great composition. Very warm and crisp at the same time. I love the way the ginger and tobacco blend, really soft and round and balanced by the cooler green tea and citrus. The tobacco is of the unsmoked variety, like the inside of a pouch of rolling tobacco.
Later in the day a very good warm wood accord of vetiver and santal emerge from underneath. Works really well as a formal scent for me, and also for evening casual.

I don't smell many similarities between this and Vintage Tabarome (Which I prefer), but perhaps just the guiding hand of the Virginia Tobacco note throughout. Other than that - the new version is much lighter and can even be worn in Summer. But if you are looking for that dark and brooding stuff that men like Churchill and Bogart used to wear in big leather chairs in stuffy study rooms wearing dark pin stripe suits, you'll need to pick up some of the old stuff. I like the new - but for me, it has to do with the mood I am in. I'll wear the newer when I want to be sure not to offend - but when I am brooding or in a strong mindset, I go back to the old stuff. All in all, you cannot go wrong by adding this bright and clean peice to your collection.

An update to my earlier review. I bought this during winter season, and thought it was great. I still think that the composition is well blended, but unfortunately I have noticed that during spring/summer season, on my skin, the ginger dominates big time. I like ginger...just not as a fragrance note. I guess I wont be buying this one again. If only the ginger wasnt so prominent ....

First, a touch of ediuble notes- smelling like caramel, toffee, fudge, dried fruit- especialyy resins ginger and vanilla. Afterwards, these first impressions fade, leaving a pleasant, Orientally lavish, exquisite smoky, dark, ambery-resinous touch. Playfull, appearantly slightly immature at first, luxuroius, sophistcated and robust, almost rugged, charisma towards the end.

A bright, refreshing take on tobacco. The ginger certainly livens things up. It's also a fairly powdery scent, with a substantial floral sweetness to it. I could see this being unisex (but still mostly leaning masculine). If Vintage Tabarome is musty, wet, old-school manliness, smoked cigar tobacco, then New Tabarome seems to be crisp, tart, fresh tobacco leaves and flowers with an almost aldehydic powdery quality. It has lots of sillage and for me great longevity. My only complaint is that sometimes the base gets a little sour on my skin, and that combined with the powdery quality can be annoying. Most of the time I really enjoy wearing this one as it exudes a crisp, fresh, classy scent without the usual aquatic or fruity notes. I like it better in cooler weather, where it has less tendency to turn sour.

Get the vintage and save the ginger for your sushi. This is a good scent, but compared to the original it's like drinking non-alcoholic beer, rather than a fine, aged wine.

Absolutely wonderful...get a blast of tobacco, which I love plus a great freshness...I could wear this to work and like the GIT no one would be offended....the idea that this is strictly a formal scent is unfounded. The dry down is wonderful...a fantastic all around fragrance.

I like this one quite a bit. I bought a decant and wish I had more now. Of the newer Creeds, this is the easiest for me to wear and like. It lasts quite a long time, but not all day. It's got a bracing quality that I like also.

Is it just me or do many of the Creed's smell alike? I've tried several and they all have a similar sweet greenish tone. I sampled Tabarome Millesime thinking that the tobacco basenotes would seperate it from the pack. Nope. Plus it didn't last but an hour or two. People spend big bucks on this?

I was disappointed when I first smelled this one. I was expecting a more modern version of Vintage Tabarome but what I got instead was a dry, bitter, and pungent tobacco note. It's not very versatile and my gf absolutely hates it. I save this when I just don't give a crap about what anyone thinks. It certainly takes some guts to wear it out in public, especially for a 21 yr old like myself who doesn't exude much class or sophistication. I find it suitable for poker night when I'm with the guys. Other than that, I don't find many occassions where I can wear this.

To me, the vaunted Creed quality is most in evidence in new Tabarome. The ginger, tea and Virginia tobacco notes are just so pure and natural. Without a doubt my favorite Creed of the past 15 years. Leans more towards the formal side, something to be worn to a board meeting or a black tie event. Best in cooler weather.

A fabulously rich scent with an energizingly fresh citrus top note and a luxuriously warm and comforting base. Try it on and wear it around the store before purchasing; you'll be amazed at its quality compared to today's other fragrances. I recommend this fragrance for cooler weather, such as the fall or winter. Classy and distinguished, it will bring a smile to your face on those crisp autumn mornings.

Absolutely fantastic. It takes a house like Creed to make a tobacco fragrance this fresh, sparkling and pleasant at all times. The ginger isn't as strong to my nose as some have suggested. I get more bergamotte freshening up the luscious tobacco leaves. Class A as always, one of the best Millesimes. / Mattias K /Sweden

The House of Creed strikes again! A wonderfully warm, rich, elegant fragrance that simply screams "classy" to anyone lucky enough to be downwind of you. No wonder this is the choice of the "power elite!" The combination of fresh, clean, sparkling notes along with deep, woody and spicy notes makes Tabarome a very versatile masterpiece. This one is tied for First Place with Green Irish Tweed in my book: although I'll probably use GIT more in the warmer months, Tabarome will definitely be my heavy-hitter for Fall/Winter.

Very rich and heady. There is no argument that this is one stunning masterpiece, but I don't think I could wear it every day, just as I couldn't eat Lobster Newburg every day. This is a special occasion fragrance, imo. To wear it too often would be vulgar.

The fragrance that started my obesession. Wonderfully rich and powerful. Ginger, tobacco and wood. Some say it is stuffy- I say it is as stuff as you want it to be. I love the tobacco notes on Tabarome...it's not dark nor brooding, it's simply unique. That familiar Creed scent is there, but it stays in the background, giving the tobacco and tea notes center stage. I'd say this is the classiest/richest Creed fragrance I own.
