Beautiful scent. The glowing reviews are on target. This is classy and leans more toward formal. Blending and ingredients are top shelf and it can be smelled immediately. 1989 Amber Oriental that opens with a citric lavender and winds into a very smooth patchouli, rose, sandal and cedar. Amber, tonka and vanilla are classic in the base resulting in an outstanding scent. What's not to like here? Go get yourself some. It's easy. Online purchasing has been around for quite some time and if you can work a mouse, you can be wearing Tiffany for men in no time flat. Big thumbs up from Aromi. 06 August 2009

I thought this was discontinued, but I was happily mistaken and tracked down a bottle. At $1 per ml it's probably one of the better values I've ever come across in terms of fragrances. Tiffany for Men could easily be sold for twice the price - maybe three times the price. As it opens you notice bergamot, a bit of lavender and this really wonderful cedar. I don't get the florals as much in lieu of spice, but the dry-down is one of the nicest sandalwood + vanilla/amber ever. Yes, it is probably best suited for formal, evening wear and not an "everyday" fragrance only because it's very special. It would also appeal more to a mature audience due to its classic tone. One thing it isn't, however, is dated. I'll reiterate that Jacques Polge is a genius and that I hope this one is never reformulated or discontinued. Two thumbs way up for Tiffany for Men. 25 July 2009

I've been reading BN reviews for years, and I've finally been inspired to write one as I sit, enjoying my application of Tiffany for Men. Part chypre, part oriental, TFM is (to me) one of the greatest masculines ever made. Structure, composition, sillage, longevity, etc. all top notch. TFM is as classy as they come but unlike some 'formal' fragrances it can be worn every day or casually. The topnotes are crisp citrus oils... not just 'citrus' in the normal airy manner, but a rich, thick citrus. From citrus a sandalwood emerges, backed by a bit of spice and florals that enhance the sandalwood - but it's the sandalwood that is really the star and my favorite aspect of the fragrance. The sandalwood persists for a few hours, slowly giving way to an mossy/woodsy yet lightly sweetened base. There is a slightly powdery feel throughout the application, giving TFM that slightly formal feel to it, but it's nowhere near as formal or stuffy as something like Platinum Egoiste. As of the time of writing a 50ml bottle of TFM is a mere $50 - it may be the best $50 you ever spend on a bottle! 21 April 2009

Deep and rich, highly aromatic ambery oriental. Smooth but with lots of spicy undertones. Polished woods joined by high quality amber note and vanillic sweetness. Gentle touch of florals brightens this little bit stopping it from becomming too dark or stuffy. Very classical and timelessly traditional composion which could be used by women too. Recommended for those especially who like classic orientals, such as Habit Rouge. 18 November 2008

Wear a fine suit with this juice on. Hang out in refined cocktail environments amongst the wealthy. You will have rich, classy milfs wanting to smell the angle of your dangle. In all seriousness, it is luxury and refinement captured in a bottle - though too heavy for daily wear. 17 October 2008

Ah, the memories! Wyatt and Doc in Tombstone practically reeking of Rosewood before we shot up the Clantons--Well, actually it was rosewater back then until Bat Masterson sent us a sample of 'rosewood'--Naw, I'm putting you on. Really it was Jacques Polge who sported a sixshooter, just in case Jean Guichard or Pierre Bourdon would cross the line. They never did. But there was Fatima O' Toole, my favorite belly dancer at Dar Maghreb's in Hollywood back in the late 80's---What red blooded male could resist her? Especially with her grace, ample curves, natural red hair and- to top ot off--dental braces? I mean, give it up! ( I believe she ended up as a realtor in the valley) And that wonderful smell permeating the tiled walls: Rosewood. Tiffany for men is Rosewood from start to finish. Though the start may be too strong for some. Spritz lightly. This is a superb oriental that I do not, unlike other reviewers, consider parrticularly powdery. It is well blended with, among other spices, nutmeg. How differently does it works here than in Cacharel PH! Both soothe the soul, but while Cacharel says: " Give me a hug for Christmas " This one says-- well never mind. There are gentlemen present . . . All in all I beleive this Polge feller had talent to spare, n'est-ce pas? 04 October 2008

Talk about a classic! Tiffany for Men was one of the first colognes I bought; and was also one of the first I ever used up and had to replace. It is sophisticated gentlemanly oriental. I know some people claim it to be a chypre and we can all just agree to disagree. The fresh opening is a gorgeous bergamot with further citrus, lavender, cardamom, and a bit of a great leafy note. The middle note centers around cedar, patchouli and carnation which is highly refined by the floral notes of Rose, Orris, and Jasmine, plus some spicy notes of cinnamon and anise, and some sandalwood The dry-down is extended due to the vanilla/tonka/amber accord. There are traces of labdanum, moss and olibanum underpinning the base. Tiffany for Men is the epitome of elegance and sophistication. 10 September 2008

Superb powdery rosewood fragrance. I don't like the top notes, so if you don't either, just wait about 20 minutes, when the magic happens. Warning: I don't think I would have liked this as a "newbie;" it's more for a "refined nose" (my guess is that I didn't appreciate rosewood back then). Also, the younger crowd might not appreciate this, if they want a "lighter" fragrance. A must for the aficionado though. One thing I tend to dislike about these kinds of fragrances is that they are often "heavy" (like some by Cartier, for example) but this one is not. It's also fairly dry and not sweet, giving it a somewhat aromatic quality, which is uncommon in the powdery fragrances I've tried. This is very rich and yet there is nothing in it that is out of place or "rough," but again, I can imagine the rosewood causing problems for some. 08 July 2008

I'm glad I finally tracked this down! A strong oriental opening strong on the spice. This opening lasts quite a long time and the sillage for the first few hours is unbelievable. Once dry, Tiffany is a very pleasant, full woodsy experience balanced with subtle spice and florals. This is very masculine fragrance perfect for a special nice out or formal event. With its elusiveness and cost I can't imagine wearing it more than once in a long while anyway. 26 June 2008

| Luxurious, classy and refined comes to mind when I think of Tiffany for Men. It's supposed to be an oriental, but I've seen other classifications for it. It has excellent lasting power on me. But I do have a problem with it. When I wear the EDT (six squirts under my clothes) I've never had a comment on it, other than from my wife - who didn't like it much, saying it reminded her of some Tweed scent her mother used to wear. But when I've worn the equally luxurious Tiffany for Men After Shave Balm by itself - well, positive comments have abounded from women, including the aforementioned wife, who when I pulled her up on the fact that she'd said she didn't like it, said she may have been too hasty in her initial assessment. | A disgusting, mossy powder that leaves no room for anything else to come about. At least it doesn't smell like floor cleaner. 05 June 2008 |

Perfect, accord's no need for this one to shout. You will know it's there, and others will too.Sweet opening, but not cloying, combined with a hint of citrus.Woods, and spice kick in, and hold through drydown. Rich, but not so that it couldn't worn to the office, or an evening affair. Great sillage, and lasts forever. A well deserved thumbs up. 25 April 2008

I think this is the model perhaps for Amouage Silver Crystal which tarts it up with fruits. Both are wondefful fragrances, Tiffany defnitely more versatile. I look forward to trying the others Naed mentions. Those jostling elbows are divine! 13 April 2008

I'm not normally an Oriental kind of guy, but this one works for me. Got it as a gift, and the first thing that came to mind upon smelling it was its similarity to Pasha de Cartier - so I compared the pyramids and see that they share the oakmoss, sandalwood and patchouli basenotes. My same comments apply to Tiffany as Pasha - chicks dig it more than I do, but I dig it, too. Longevity is off the charts - it's still there a day later. Thumbs up! 21 November 2007

One of Polge's greatest, hands down. Goes on very sweet and citrusy, yes, but dries down to a warm ambery sandalwood that is not to be believed. Probably not the most casual of fragrances, no -- this stuff reeks of tailored suits and boardrooms. (DEFINITE power frag -- right up there with Balenciaga pour Homme, VC&A, Antaeus, Bois de Portugal etc.) Easily one of the best American fragrances ever created. If you've not tried it, you owe yourself the opportunity. 18 November 2007

Sorry but I expected a bit more - yes it smells expensive, refined and supersmooth. My problem with Tiffany for Men is that it's way too smooth and soft/delicate, safe and completely lacks an edge. Also, it smells too powdery to my nose, a touch of woody/spicy counterpoint would make this composition more exciting and interesting imo. For me it's only half-finished, needs another element. A bit on the feminine side as well. 09 November 2007

What a fantastic, gorgeous drydown! The drydown reminds me very much of TABU by Dana parfums. This is a very rich fragrance, best for late afternoons into evening. 15 March 2006

A beautiful fragrance! It has the ability to work in many different settings and situations. It evolves without ever losing it's inital impression while at the same time adding new aspects. It is not as sweet as Allure or as medicinal as Egoiste. As far as reactions from the fairer sex,.... I have never met a woman that didn't like something with the words "Tiffany" on the box. 14 March 2006

I SO wanted to love this scent. I have worn Tiffany (for women) for years, and I also wear Sheer Tiffany and Pure Tiffany. I cannot get enough of Tiffany's perfumes. Needless to say, I was dying to smell Tiffany for Men so I could get it for my boyfriend. Judging from other reviews and community discussion, I am starting to think the sample I received was "bad" or had turned. It smelled like something I could pick up at any drugstore--it just smelled really cheap and generic. I am eager to smell this again to see if my first experience with the scent was a fluke. 18 February 2006

Jostling spicy elbows, all shouting 'I'm Spartacus! I'm Spartacus!', a long line of rich golden gladiators: Lord Molyneux, Marbert Gentleman, Omar Sharif, Weil's Kipling, Otto Kern's Cycle, Krizia Moods Uomo, Lauder for Men and many, many more. At their head, Tiffany for Men, slightly more smooth in his spice, slightly more gold in his guise, slightly less harsh in his shout: 'I'm Spartacus, I'm Spartacus!' ((de Charlus). 02 February 2006

I first found this cologne back in 1992. Haven't smelled it since. But I really remember liking it and will be buying a bottle of this soon. It used to be my favorite cologne. I just remember its sweet and that I loved it..although I've forgotten what it smells like. They sell it at Nordtroms. 25 January 2006

Reminds me of the movie because it has almost as much beauty and class as the movie’s lovely star. The opening comes on with a strongly dominant rosewood, which, to me, overpowers the introductory citrus. This is fine with me because I see it as the foreshadowing of the potently luxurious notes in the mid and base. It promises that what is coming is going to be deep, complex, and masculine and that it will be exposed not only with power and drama, but also with discretion. The woods and spices really deliver on the promise. As incredibly rich as Tiffany is, it always acts with taste and dignity. The perfectly balanced base of amber, sandalwood, tonka and oakmoss lasts the longest of any EDT I’ve ever tried. 10 January 2006

I can not believe no one has yet reviewed this scent! Well let me be the first. Tiffany for men is a very sophisticated fragrance it exuded the richness and refinement of the Tiffany & Company image. A very well crafted scent that is rich with out being overwhelming and very long lasting! The scent open with a crisp citrus note but then warms down to the most unique oriental blend of sandalwood & nutmeg. I also like the idea that this fragrance can ONLY be purchased directly at Tiffany it givs an aura of mystic to the fragrance that many other jeweler scents don't have. In closing Tiffany is the best of American luxe. 24 May 2004

An extremely rich, luxurious, long-lasting scent, very strong and if too much is used, overpowering. Cirrusy and somewhat sweet, but unmistakebly masculine due to musky notes. One of the richest and deepest scents I've smelled, and while a bit too rich for everyday use, it is really something. Very recommended. 29 April 2004
