One of the few florals for men that I enjoy. The powdery violet is a great burst at the opening and it really stays with it through the tonka and musk end. Very linear with medium projection but unfortunately not very good longevity. The bottle and wood top are very cool for such a low-cost fragrance. 30 August 2009

Easily the most comforting frag in my collection. I was cautioned by other members on this forum that the Violet in Touch dominates, and it's true. I was worried when I first bought this that the Violet would be too feminine, however it is very warm and surprisingly masculine. There's a certain amount of sweetness alongside the Violet, but it isn't prominent. Unfortunately, Touch doesn't last too long nor does it project... however this isn't a problem if you don't mind reapplicating every few hours. This smell is exactly what I want my sheets and clothes to smell like- it smells warm and inviting. Though not the most acknowledged scent in my collection by my girlfriend or her friends, this is one that I really enjoy on my own, and I recommend it. EDIT: Since my review, I seem to have developed an adverse reaction towards Touch. There is something in it that causes me to gag when I use it... I've actually come quite close to throwing up at one point. I don't know what it is, however I find that I can no longer wear this stuff. 12 August 2009

All I can smell is violet, lot's of violet. There are subtle hints of pepper and mandarin. But mostly the violet takes over right from the start and retains it's grip throughout. It's not a bad fragrance, but to me it's very linear. 27 July 2009

My wife bought me this on a whim as a gift from a department store. It's a very pleasant fragrance, nice opening with a quick blast of pepper. It smells quite sophisticated if anything, very cool and watery to me but not in the typical aquatic fragrance sense. It is very linear and holds no surprises after the initial burst but it is certainly appealing. My only real problem with it is it has absolutely no real longevity nor sillage. I'm *amazed* at the review that claims it lasts 24 hours. This is one of the shortest lasting perfumes I've ever experienced. I wear it around the house, usually on an evening after a shower: it has a lovely refreshing quality to it. But sadly it just doesn't have enough oomph to make it through the day at work. 19 June 2009

Light, woody and slightly powdery. A nice breezy scent easy on the nose. Like a lot of Burberry male scents, this has poor longevity. Unfortunately linear - I don't get much development from this. Pleasant, but a little too light and easily dispensable. 18 June 2009

Smells like all the other Burberry fragrance. Its slightly spicy with a hint of fresh. Nothing special, but I guess if you like other Burberry fragrances, you'll probably like this one. 17 May 2009

The initial blast brings to mind Fahrenheit. That doesn’t last long though, only few seconds, and soon it starts to remind me more some other scent; Herrera 212. And then very soon this separates from that one too, taking its own private path to move forward…. Touch for Men soon becomes very very linear and smooth blend of WHITE MUSK, soft woods, weak violets with distant yet notable dash of warm pepper. Slightly vanillic and powdery tonka bean is that final touch. This is well made scent that is completely non provocative or edgy. It is very easy to wear anytime, anywhere. *yawn* If you like fragrance that is clean, fresh and sensual - if you don’t want to disturb the people around you in slightest and play safe - and most of all, if you like white musk….then this is for you. To me Touch for Men is nice scent and extremely neutral. 03 February 2009

Sweet. Powdery. Violet-ey compliment-magnet. Makes a good and exciting first impression -- but bores quickly. Like a one night stand. Or most blind dates. Or MacOS X. 11 July 2008

Like everyone says, a sweet powdery violet. Nothing great, nothing terrible. 11 July 2008

All I can smell is the harsh violet which overpowers everything else (though, in fairness, this happens to me with other violet scents, like Grey Flannel). There is a coolness to it, much like Vicks Vapo-rub, but it always gives me a headache. This stuff doesn't have longevity and sillage, it has a half-life and a fall-out zone. We're talking 24 hours or more. Go easy on it. Why the neutral review? I received some good compliments on it. If violet doesn't overpower your nose, you will probably like this. 08 July 2008

Nice. Very Nice. But everyone has it. Best seller=no sale for me. 06 November 2007

The only thing that really comes out on me with this scent is the pepper and the white musk, then, after it dries down quite a bit, there is a little fresh smell (violet) to it. It must be my skin because my friend had it and it smelled more refreshing on him. I liked it more on him more. I don't like the musk/pepper smell that seems to be over taken on my skin. Right before it goes away it smells good though...alas. 31 March 2006

I love the opening. The first note that comes to me is a sharp violet leaf note along with a solid citrus presence, which moves to an excellent balance of wood notes. Wonderful. Then, unfortunately, the base changes the established energetic pattern by becoming soft and subtle with a white musk/tonka combination. It loses me here because it loses its potency. As in many other fragrances, white musk just disappears on me. Burberry Touch is a well-made Oriental that is different from the run-of-the-mill fragrances. If it didn’t depend so much on white musk in the dry down, it would certainly be one of my favorites. 10 January 2006

I totally agree with madgradrx... This scent is so variable it drives me nuts sometimes! It's very much a "cold weather" cologne. I live in the tropics, and Touch just reacts badly to heat and humidity. It's not a bad scent, but Brit and Pleasures do much, much better in my climate. 23 November 2005

One of the most maddeningly variable scents in my collection. On some days the scent dries down quite nicely to a refined mix of violet, musk and peppery woods. On others the white musk and tonka dominate. When I first bought it, there were more of the former days than the later. 07 November 2005

To me it smells exactley like Magnetism by Escada. 03 November 2005

A very unmistakeable fragrance. The violet note makes it a little to floral for my tastes though. However the white musk gives the fragrance a nice soft drydown and a very sophisticated elegance. I've never been a fan of white musk, but when combined with the other notes in Touch, it becomes a very sweet and soft scent. 11 October 2005

The only fragrance I know that has violet and I don't hate...I used to wear it a couple of years ago but I must admitt didn't get very good comments when I was wearing it...You could say it's a much lighter version of Fahrenheit...lightly musky 09 January 2004
