Ken_Russel said: "Rather a concept fragrance, an unusual experiment than the classic formal-wear cologne... A revolutionary scent that will render your everyday life(if you decide to wear it regularly) into anything else but daily grind, into a sweet-spicy adventure or joyride." On the other hand, in the perfume guide book, Tania Sanchez calls it a generic masculine fragrance. How can this be? I think there are two possibilities. Either this one is really dependent upon "skin type" or else the way this fragrance is perceived varies widely, from person to person, depending upon slight differences in how we interpret smell. For me, there is a dessert-like quality to U?M, perhaps like lemon meringue, but there is also a woody quality, herbs, etc. It's not especially sweet, but for those who are used to non-sweet fragrances, it might seem sweet. For me, it's not sweet, because I like sweet fragrances and this one does not come across to me as particularly sweet. I do like a fragrance that is a bit "challenging," but in a "swirling" way, meaning that I can't pin it down and it's enjoyable. U?M is more up front in how it challenges you, almost as if it's saying, "I'm going to throw all these different notes at you and you've got to figure out what to do with them." Since it's strong, I suggest one spray on your first sampling, not on your chest though, and don't blind buy a big bottle. My verdict is neutral, because this is interesting and not horrible (if you don't use too much), but it generates an experience that I don't find optimal, and since I have so many fragrances now that do, I don't think I'd use this more than once every couple of months (or more).

All these reviews are interesting. I agree that it does have the italian playboy appeal to it. I could see some over dressed fashionisto wearing this and some lizard boots at a nightclub. On the other hand I think this would be great for a certain type. I tend to be attracted to musk so this works very well for me. I too had a love / hate realationship with it due to the strong kumquat smell but I've gotten over it and have come to appreciate the uniqueness of it.

I wore it for a month as I was traveling and I've had a bottle in my stash ever since . I cannot wear this on a daily basis because I think it smells too "flakey" meaning I don't think I could be taken seriously if I wore it to the office. If I was in my 20's maybe but I don't find this to be a mature scent. It's more for the young well dressed hipster mover/shaker maybe even a bit emasculated type. I wear it if I go out at night to a bar/club or when I dress with a casual "miami" type look ie. loafers maybe white jeans and a short sleeve button down shirt.

It is one of the more unique modern fragrances out there. I've done alot of whiffing lately and this one has really stood out. Enjoy!

Im getting near 40 so I am getting into more sophisticated scents "classics" to be exact. I don't get the new stuff but this one IS unique. If you like musk you will probably like this.

Soap on a rope. This is very plain, simple and safe. Wear it for the office when you need to cover up odors you forgot to wash off that morning. Won't turn heads but is a decent fragrance. I have no idea what is up with the question mark in the name. Notes of soapy florals with citrus that dries down into an ugly woody musk.

I love this fragrance by Moschino as well as Friends. What I thought was fig I now see is Kumquat. They mix their notes well and the drydown is quite musky and is a wonderful drydown. I am hooked and would recommend this most definitely to others. More of an evening scent to me wherein Friends seems like something to wear with jeans and in the spring and in the summer.

One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES. This fragrance, although subtle, has superb staying power. "It's a light fragrance that lasts all day." I love the somewhat powdery drydown Not as sweet at Tamerisk by Mary Kay (remember that beautiful fragrance that Mary Kay selfishly discontinued, same with Mr. M by Mary Kay - what an inconsiderate company run by greedy #*%$&'s that take a fragrance off the market if it's not a best seller!). I would recommend UOMO? for the springtime (perhaps because that's when I bought it), but I believe this would be a very nice fragrance for fall/winter. It is a fragrance that will soothe your soul and bring back memories of times that happened in a previous life. Sorry to sound corny, but this fragrance really put me at ease when I was smelling it at desk at my work place one day. It just gave me a feeling of well-being and warmth. I do, in fact, get compliments on UOMO? because it really is not like anything else out there. It's a little powdery but nice. If I want to smell very powdery, I'll wear my Bulgari BLV, which also by the way I absolutely LOVE. The powder note is so strong that it makes me smell like a BIG and cuddly baby -- BEAR! GRRRR!!! That reminds me how much I really LOVE Bulgari BLV. Thanks, Basenotes, for this site. I really love it, being the fragrance aficionado that I am. Bye! Jon in Dallas, Texas

It's hard to add upon what foetidus and toadkings have said, but I only add and say that this one just doesn't work on me. As a fragrance, I would put it in the same realm as Rykiel Homme, Gaultier le male, or Philosophy Amen, but this one has an odd note (something particularly synthetic) that makes the sweetness have a slight bitterness over time that isn't very pleasant. I think I see what Moschino was trying to do with this one, but also think that it is done better elsewhere (I like any of those mentioned above much better).

I have developed a love-hate relationship with this smell. It has an interesting contrast between sweet and spicy that makes it pretty unique. I tend to dislike overbearing sweet frags and Uomo? Moschino is just sweet enough to fit the bill. Whenever I put on this frag I can’t help but feel like an Italian gigolo. It’s best described as an Italian man candy scent. Putting this cologne on the top notes hit me and for the first 10 minutes, a weird smell of lemon Lysol is all I can get from this cologne. This is probably due to the notes of kumquat and Coriander. This part of the cologne does not really strike me a pleasant and I am turned off by it every time I put it on. Thankfully, the middle and heart notes come in to save the day. Without them, this scent would be an average scent that brings nothing to the table. The notes of cinnamon and cyclamen give off a sweet spicy and floral smell that is pre-dominantly sweet. The note of lemon is always lurking in the background during the time the scent is on my skin. This is where the progression of the scent stops for me. It might get more spicier with a note of cedar wood but it sweetness sticks to my skin and never lets go. This is not a bad scent but it is nothing special for me either. I would suggest this cologne for someone who does like sweet smelling fragrances or scents that smell very lemony. If you like scents with more spice and woody smells, then Uomo? Moschino will not cut it.

Uomo? Moschino has quite interesting and engaging spicy / floral-with-a-touch-of-citrus openers. The use of cinnamon with clary sage and ‘transparent coriander’ creates a rather edgy accord that straddles the line between intriguing and revolting; the problem is that when I apply it in the morning, I don’t know which of the two directions it’s going to choose that day. It is a moody fragrance, or maybe I’m projecting my own lack of grasp on it (whether it’s citrus, floral, spice, or herbal dominant—not that it matters when it takes the ‘intriguing’ route.) But on those rare occasions when it decides to turn on me, it’s scary. It can get really rude. Well, it does add intrigue and suspense to those days I’m daring enough to apply it. Whenever I use this scent, I feel like I’m being the unwitting dupe of some kind of inside joke.

Strange yet not unpleasant challenge of traditional male gender roles. Rather a concept fragrance, an unusual experiment than the classic formal-wear cologne. How do they manage to render rather sweet, smoky, powdery, creamy tones of chocolate, scented exotic tobacco, caramel and toffe, with a touch of incense and brandy so masculine?
A revolutionary scent that will render your everyday life(if you decide to wear it regularly) into anything else but daily grind, into a sweet-spicy adventure or joyride.

I used to like it, but find this one temperamental on my skin. Quite loud and pungent, and dires down a bit harsh on me. Interesting cinnamon and wood blend over musk and herbs, but what the heck is a "sunshine accord"?

"That's a bit different from your typical Eau d'Cologne, eh Sir? What is it?"
I hadn't stumped my humble assistant with a scent in some time. Indeed, I just received a bottle of this and was wearing it for the first time.

Uomo? Moschino opens with a slightly sweet, moderate herbal/floral/citrus accord with hints of spice and woods. The citrus notes disappear after about 30-60 minutes, the floral/herbal notes extending the scent into the spice and woods. It is very harmonius and should serve well and uniquely amidst the raft of other typical office scents (Bulgari PH, Lanvin L'Homme, any Kenzo, etc.). I guess it is quite typical of Italian scents, like Krizia Uomo and Biagiotti Uomo.

Fresh, clean oriental with spice and florals. I would say it reminds of both Herrera´s 212 and the original Cacharel. Better than both of those though. Very longlasting and nice bottle too.

This was one scent i had considered purchasing when i was looking for a different kind of citrus. Something totally paradoxical to the multitudes of fresh, clean designer citruses in the market today. While Monsieur Givenchy and Eau Sauvage hit me as being particularly earthy citrus, Moschino is much more spicy and herbal in nature. Certainly very different from the modern citrus non-scents of today, with its Kumquat topnotes and Clary Sage midnotes providing the aromatic herbal pungency to the cinnamon leaves spiciness. The selection of Cedarwood at the base is very appropriate IMO as it merges well with the spicy sweet nature of the scent as something like leather or suede would make it over-the-top cloying. For something similar, you can compare it to Trussardi L'Uomo which has a slightly more interesting topnote of Tomato Leaves and Sandalwood + Tobacco leaves basenote. I picked Trussardi L'Uomo in the end. For the leathery version, look to Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. This has a strong leather mid and base for a masculine punch with the lemon+Bergamot+Orange topnotes carrying through to the midnotes very well for a bitter citric punch.

A very masculine, spicy, but also very fresh scent. I like it mainly because I can wear it almost anytime, anywhere. It works fine from hot summer midday to winter night. However, I don't know why lately I'm a little tired of it... I guess it really is somehow sharp, and sometimes I just can't stand it! When that doesn't happen, I feel wonderful with it!!!

Why the question-mark? This is a very manly citrus-oriental fragrance. Citrus dissolves in a sweet and spicy notes. Lasts forever, 1-2 spritzes are quite enough. Very special oriental scent: attractive and intelligent. Good for a cooler temp nightout.

Funny I was always wondering what this cologne reminds me of. Then recently it dawned on me - you know this great old women's parfume by Lancome called Climat? Here in Moschino Uomo you have the male version of the same scent. No wonder many girls adore the smell of Moschino Uomo when the majority of men that I know are pretty indifferent to it.

I loved it when I put it on first, but after a while I got very tired of it. There's an unpleasant sharp note lurking around in there somewhere.
