    Blue Box Montana Homme
    =
The Bogart Pour Homme of fresh/citrus/soap scents.
    Is it cheap? You bet.
    Is it great? No.
Citrus and soap in rare form? Absolutely.

    Imagine:
35% EDP of Nicolai's Cologne Cedrat
20% EDP of Nicolai's Cologne Friction
    10% white barsoap
    8% Creed Orange Spice
7% Red "ICEE" Frozen Slush drink
    5% Jacques Bogart Eau Fraiche
    5% Trumper GFT
    5% Lemon Joy dishsoap
3% Italian Ice with the peel and seeds in it
    2% Maitre Ambre Precieuax

Starts with a big lemon note, dries to a clean, soapy, musky scent. citrusy/cool/slushee note remains throughout, as does the Lemon Joy. Ends at a light taste of a semi-sweet, pale amber like the Maitre. A true Bargain for those wanting long lasting citrus, who don't positively hate really soapy scents, and don't mind a tiny taste of Orange Spice/Kouros. (no urinals, just the soapy musky smell)

    Thumbs up.

After an initial blast of raw alcohol, Montana pour Homme settles into a close facsimile of Lemon Pledge furniture polish. Any further development consists of a slow fade toward a nondescript woody drydown. Given that Monsieur Balmain offers an outstanding lemon and sandalwood arrangement at a fraction of the price, I see no reason to waste money on Montana pour Homme.

Note: My experience suggests that it is this scent, and not the 1989 release (in the hideous olive drab bottle and red box), that Luca Turin describes as “a dry, woody lemon of no interest” in “Perfumes: the A to Z Guide.”

    Hmmm
Got no camphor or menthol or citrus on this one as opposed to many other reviewers.
The initial notes are discordant and a little bit sharp. Evolves nicely into the soap you wish your soap smelled like. A gentle but masculine smell that in my office was surprisingly polarizing. Had received samples of this along with Creed's Avantus and sprayed both liberally on each wrist. A third liked Creed, a third liked Montana(mine just says Montana Homme and leaves the pour off) and a third liked them equally for different reasons. Not a bad showing for a far less costly frag.

Soapy, powdery, discrete woody cypre whose i detect above all bitter orange, lemon, cedarwood, resins and musk. The opening is very citrus (and artemisia surely pushes up the sour bitter initial temperament of the scent) but the very fierce opening lasts few minutes . The fragrance soon fades in a musky , powdery, almost opaque (anyway discretly mild) lemony-mossy smell. The addition of amber  enhances the soapy, resinous temperament of the dry down. Very good longevity on my skin.

Excellent fragrance Very citrus - almost lemon sherbit (but not in a gourmand way )perhaps lemon verbena would be a better description . It smells refined and It is totally unique when compared to other citrus fragrances . and most importantly it lasts !!!! Lovely lovely fragrance .A definate favourite in my wardrobe

This is some refreshing stuff that I imagine would be great during any time of the year. I may give this one further testing but despite having a powerful blast the fragrance seemed to fade quickly. Perhaps more sprays will correct this problem but I didn't spray too much since the sprayer is like a fire hose in the amount it expels. The smell itself is fantastic.
