The fresh almost fruity-sweet opening is a welcome reflief from the near-cliched citrus tops. It holds my interest even further with its cool, watery texture rather reminiscent of wet leaves after a rainfall. Unfortunately 10 minutes is about as far as it had me under its thrall as I find the progression lacking in focus and somewhat generic. Sillage is not a strong suit either. Hard to believe that the nose behind this creation was Thierry Wasser, who in 2008 was appointed by Guerlain to be its in-house perfumer. Only time will tell if that was a bad move for Guerlain but judging by ANGEL SCHLESSER HOMME and his other creations which include Armani Diamonds and Diesel Fuel for Life for Her, I'd be worried.

Hmmm. Hmmm! Ah yes! This is good. I can't chide the fragrance for not lasting on me due to my chemistry but this is good! Hints of something like Lolita Au Masculine (very slight hints mind you) and one of those "sporty" fragrances from Polo, Hugo or some such. Sporty meaning youthful. Fresh and clean but with odd herbal feeling to it that calms everything down. Great for a night out where you don't want to project into the next neighborhood with your scent.

This is one of many not so popular but quite good scents.
You can easily detect bergamot, sandalwood, cedar, anis and white musk, but the most interesting note here (at least to me) is rice. It’s funny, but on many sites you won’t even find rice among the Angel’s notes. For me, without rice the picture of Angel is just like an unfinished puzzle.
I worried about the Angel’s sillage and I was apllying 8 sprays on each side of my neck until my mother told me once: ”You smell as strong as some prostitute”. That nice, little compliment “killed” my worries about its sillage.
It’s ideal for the afternoon’s walks during the summer.

A very fresh green scent, this reminds me of a fresh cut lawn or a sun-dappled meadow. It's a real pity that the longevity is so poor, otherwise it would be the perfect summer casual fragrance. It makes a nice around-the-house sort of fragrance because it's so charmingly light and it's usually mostly gone by evening when I want something more substantial to go out in.

A little bit too sweet for me in the opening…I get a combination of bergamot and anise — anise is something I’m usually not fond of, but it is not overbearing here. The opening is quite sweet, and I have a greater difficulty with the sweetness than with anise. The opening moves very quickly to the middle accord and the anise remains prominent with cedar and lavender joining it and eventually taking over. I don’t get any cinnamon or ginger. The dry down is primarily coniferous, and it becomes quite subtle, stays light, and hugs the skin. All the accords in the fragrance are natural feeling and are well put together. Angel Schlesser Homme is sweet, pleasant, and inoffensive: It is an excellent youthful casual fragrance. It certainly deserves a thumb’s up.

A massively underrated fragrance, to my mind.
Angel Schlesser PH is another scent that walks the fine line between the familiar and the unsettling.
I purchased my bottle whilst visiting Copenhagen in the colder months, and was wowed by the packaging... layers of papers and textures that you must strip away to reveal this solid, weighty flacon.
The scent itself has an earthy quality... without the actual fragrance notes available to me, when first sprayed I detect a gentle dill/fennel-like note (reminiscent of the first spritz of Hermés' Rocabar). Moments later a tangy heart is unveiled with hints of musk, which is almost sweat-like to the nose, but not at all unpleasant. It is this play between the organic and the elemental that I most enjoy about wearing this fragrance. The dry down is woody, but punctuated with vetiver and crisp ginger accords.
I'd recommend first time users take some time to get to know this fragrance - some unusual contrasts await.

I tried angel out because it was recommendeed for someone who was looking for clean and soapy.
i did not get that. i got sweet and foodish. My guess is i am smelling a pepper and sweet rice smell.
imo it would be a good scent if you like those angel A por homme smells that are "food" like in scent.

A somewhat overlooked spanish eau de toilette. Angel Schlesser is very fresh & clean but with quite some personality compared to other fragrances in the AdG genre. Sligthly piney, soapy clean and with a sweet rice accord on a warm cedar base. Definitely worth checking out if you're on the hunt for something subtle and inoffensive with decent staying power.

I'd say Angel is a nice fragrance (subtle, refreshing with a hint of sweetness) that doesn't stand out in the crowd. Reminds me of a poor, less woody Emporio City Glam. Good for casual situations, but nothing special. The longevity isn't so good.

My absolute favorite for summer. Smells like beautiful forrest after rain in the sunny summer day. Very clean, very natural, very unique, very refreshing.

This is a nice alternative to fresh marine / water scents like Acqua di Gio and so many other clones. The opening is very reminiscent of AdG, but not quite as melony sweet. The volume is set moderately, so this is good for office and casual weekend wear. There are rice notes hidden in the middle, which are detectable and unique. This is a solid fragrance selection and not widely worn. It would be a good starter cologne for a guy who doesn't usually wear any being also that I've seen the 2.5oz. bottle for as low as under $12.

Thumbs way up. I just bought this in London - I was going to pick one cologne that is not available in the US. After trying almost every new fragrance out there, and realizing that almost everything smells the same, this is the one that stuck out from the crowd. Imagine what you'd get if you combined Acqua di Gio with Ted Baker's Skinwear. Very strong scent of pine first, followed by a classy dry down of violet and maybe cedar. Starts with a sudden fresh burst, and stays with a woody, violet finish. Been smelling myself all day since I started to wear it. Can't stand those vanilla-based scents and this is the antithesis to them - fresh, but not in a tired "cool water" way. A Plus!!

decent, dry woody similar to marc jacobs ,then unfolds into something else and vanishes shortly after that.

I recently got this from a friend visiting Spain. I don't know why but I still haven't warmed to it. It's not that I hate it just that it never calls out to me. Very interesting fresh spicy scent though. Initially reminds me of Aqua Di Gio but with added spice and depth. Russlan is right to compare it to a fresher reworked version to Azzaro. Light enough to be worn at work yet strong enough for nightime use IMO.

VERY European type of scent with some of the notes that resemble many classic Italian fragrances. But it's Spanish, of course, intruduced by the fashion house of Angel Schlesser in 2001, and was composed by Swiss perfumer Thierry Wasser (Dior's Addict).
It opens with the burst of fresh notes not unlike good old Acqua Di Gio - wet grass leaves, rain water and sicilian bergamot. Then it goes woody-spicy with the combination of cedar, vetiver, sandalwood, lavender, anise, cardamon, clove and rice (yes, rice) notes. The base is composed of different woods, white musk and moss.
My footnotes. I didn't care about it at first, but it steadily grows on me. The more I wear it, the more I like it. Rides close to the skin, doesn't project outside much, good choice for the office environment. Lasts for moderately long time - appr. 5 hours on me. Very European in every aspect. Dry, professional, cool.
The cologne that smells the closest to Angel Schlesser Homme is original Azzaro Pour Homme (black bottle). Think of it as a new, (fresher, summer, lighter, reworked) version of Azzaro and you get the idea.
