It smells like the sun. I have never smelt the sun but I now can say I know whay it smells like. Maybe the name is playing tricks on me...but all i see is a big bright sun when I take a sniff. There is a sense of warmth, a feeling of bright, hot outdoors. For what would I wear this? I am not sure...maybe during a horrid winter, as aroma therapy.
Jil Sander's scents are very subtle and understated most of the time. This is no exception. Recommended for people who do not like to wear heavy, heady, in your face frags. Not bad.

This reminds me of hot summer evenings! IMO it has great longevity. For me it's a must have...

as the other posters have stated unfortunately nothing extraordinary however nice and inoffensive.
good frag, good for the wallet too :)
got this one during summer sale and like it, suits almost any occasion althoguh i find it a little to 'warm' for a pure summer scent.
a thumbs up anyway

At first I swore this was spicy suntan lotion but that was my brain playing tricks on me with word associate with the name. Distinguishably a Jil Sander frag because it also reminded me of Jil Sander Man. It has that sweet undertone to it but the topnotes really shine. Mint and rosemary make this a fun cooling yet refreshing scent. A good one.

Sun Men is a vibrant fragrance that is both luminous and warm... Jil Sander have done well in capturing the essence of summer in this creation. It is light, yet projects well, and one cant help but feel a sense of well being and vitality when wearing this. A nice play between citrus, herbaceous and woody accords.
Of the entire men's JS fragrance portfolio, this is the standout scent for me. However I have growing concern that it may be on the way out, as I have seen stock diminish in stores I've visited internationally. Time to stock up! This is a great fragrance to add to the wardrobe for balmy summer occasions or fresh everyday wear.

I just got a sample of this and I must say that it is better than I expected. It sure smells quite "common" and synthetic, no doubt about that, but it has another familiar tone to it that I quite like. It make me think back on a specific summer I went on holiday in Israel when I was about 13-14 years old. I was wearing a mini of Samba Man and this one comes quite close to that one. For the sake of good old memories I will always kind of like the smell of Samba. So here it is, but with a lovely note of rosewood hidden within.

I could see myself purchasing this one, when in need for something ozon like for the few times I don't want to stand out, but enjoy what ever I'm wearing none the less. On the contrary of how MonkeyManMatt feels about it, I find it quite powerful with fair longetivity.

I do want to seek out the female origin however...

Like most Sander fragrances, this one lacks teeth. It's a fair scent, good for spring and summer, but it smells like any fifteen other spring/summery fragrances that you can get elsewhere. Excellent bottle design and packaging, but the scent itself lacks distinction. Why they keep this one and the Jil Sander Man while discontinuing Feeling Man and Background (two Sanders that actually have a backbone) I'll never understand.

Divine. Simply love it. Smells like the sun. In my limited fragrance knowledge, I think it resembles Amouage Dia for men.

The male version regrettably doesn't have anything in common with it's female counterpart. The original Sun (for women) was an extremely innovative scent, designed to smell like concentrated sun-tan lotion. Probably the best coconut based fragrance ever made. And highly wearable for men - no problem. This one is a very weak, generic summer cologne (definitely cologne strength as well...) full of calone, a synthetic widely used in the aquatic/marines of today. So it's anemic, artificial and common compared to the womens one, need I say which one you should choose?

I agree with JASON's Review. I think this is a great new summer scent. It's light, bright, fresh, and then it has a deeper lingering warmth...perfect for summer. It's not in a league with Snader's Feeling Man or Background etc. Those were VERY distintive scents that made a statement and were totally unique. Sun may be more generic, but it's at the top of its class. Try this one...I think you'll like it.

As many other fragrances from Jil Sander, Sun is light and airy scent, a tad floral, a bit ambery, and quite sweet. Not my taste, though. I liked the bottle a whole lot better - stylish, minimalistic and very much Bauhaus.
