I must say I am very impressed with this perfume. I bought it as a gamble, as another attempt to enjoy an YSL perfume. I bought Jazz and Opium EDP in the past, but I thought the first was mediocre and the second was too spicy. I actually felt sick when wearing Opium EDP, and had to sell it at the marketplace. Opium EDP is nauseating, a feverish excess in olfactory sensations.

But M7 is a gorgeous, delicious, sensual, smooth, subtle perfume. I love its resinous agarwood notes. It keeps all the best parts of Opium without adding the nasty spices. This perfume is very sexy and I plan to use it when I go out at night.

Takes a lot of courage everytime i sprayed m7.
its strength scent in every notes...and i feel my body temperature keep raising if i used it overspray...

the top notes is very medicinal for my nose, but the drydown its very cool
there is not sweet aroma in this fragrance..

M7 is love n hate fragrance, better try 1st before you buy, not for newbies, bitter, very manly, n woman you should stay away from this (this is for man only)

1st time i write this review i put thumbs down.. why ? that because im newbies in fragrance but after couple of month i wear lot of edt i found this M7 interesting to wear

put it very light and found someting clean medicinal and little bit soapy...

This scent is not for the faint of heart. Intense/deep and dark, this oozes in-your face masculinity.
Dramatic sillage and stays on your skin for a very long time. This is agarwood that has the wallop of a baseball bat.
If you want it safe/clean (dare I say boring), don't get this. If you want to stand out, be different, be a rebel --
this one's for you.

A great fragrance. Spicy and full of lots of flavours that gel perfectly.
For a newcomer to perfume, this may come across as strong but for me, the middle notes are much lighter than lots of musky and heavy men's scents.
A stand-out amongst mass-market fragrances.

A dark fragrance that is saturated with Oud/Agarwood. Reminds me of the incense burning in orthodox hindu temples in South India.

This is one fragrance I'll take it to my grave

This one took a few tries before I fell in love with it. Totally unique. Go very light with it and give it about 45 minutes before going out (as is the case with so many other frags) - it's then absolutely perfect. Agreed that it is a scent for the cool late Autumn and holiday/Winter season. Magical.

Good medicine! This makes me feel as if I've rolled in a pile of health-giving funky leaves, then drank something warm by a fire. Or maybe sucked on a pastille from a wooden medicine chest filled with aromas. I'm a woman, and don't care at all if this is too 'masculine' for me to wear. I'm getting a bottle!

I've had my bottle of M7 for a few months now. For my skin, I have to wait 30 minutes after spraying before engaging in any human contact. Personally I dont enjoy the opening notes, but after that it's simply incredible.

It's the only scent i own that got a random female to just come up and sniff my neck and say "you smell really good" to me in a whisper. So basically im always going to keep a bottle in stock.

Unfortunately for me the sprayer on my bottle is broken so i had to remove it. So instead of a mist I get a thick to stream of juice.

I like to spray this on my clothes and in my room as well.

Words cannot describe how much I love this fragrance. I just cannot describe it. Buy a bottle, I don't think a puny sample spritz will give you a fulfilling experience.

A very sensual and modern fragrance, resembling Gucci's Envy. The sweet and spicy notes are blended just right, so it becomes neither cloying nor "in your face". Suitable for romantic occasions.

I love this one but can't get my husband to wear it. So, I wear it myself. It is soft enough for a woman but definitely made for a man (now did that sound like a Secret commercial or what?)

Wow! My first posting here and it transpires i've been wearing a much talked about scent for nearly 6 months!

To be honest M7 is truly has the 'marmite' factor in that you'll either love it or hate it. For that resaon alone its not an option for a 'blind buy' Visits the pharmacy two or three times and spray on skin and then make your decision on the the 3 stages especially the dry down

Its certainly a very masculine smell and does start off with an almost medicinal note. However, its on the middle and base notes that i think it shines with an incredible warmth and 'woodyness'.

A number of warnings though. My view is that its a winter and evening only scent. It kust doess not suit that hot summer afternoon and will too be cloying. In addition goes easy when applying if your skin is anything like mine. This is serioulsy powerful stuff and never forget that you are 'shouting' if people can smell a vapour trail behind you. For longevity this fragrance is 11 out of 10 compared to anything iv'e ever worn before. It even stomps all over original 'pink' Joop which was the most powerful i had experienced. Do check out that your wife/girlfriend likes it because it does linger so long.

I purchased the aftershave lotion and was surprised that the medicinal note was hardly present and dried down to a really nice warm addictive scent. I thought I was missing something so I bought a gift box with the ET 3.3 and some body wash. Man what a difference in the opening!!,Almost gagged me with a sort of smashed in the head with a blunt instrument dipped in Cough Syrup. Within 10 minutes an even stronger beautiful scent slowly emerged better than the AS lotion. M7 reminds me of taking the old codeine based cough syrup which tasted like hell but left you feeling warm and floaty. If your not to daring I would stick with the after shave lotion..Very different and my favorite.

It's all true... all that you've read and heard, and that's why I love M7 so much. You really will smell Band-Aids. You really will smell red cough syrup. You will smell resinous precious oud and rich amber which starts heavy and dries down to a marshmallow softness. You will smell the hint of a pine forest and tree bark. This smells like NOTHING I've experienced before.

Yes, this is what I've been waiting for. Five years after its launch I'm smelling it for the first time and it wipes nearly EVERYTHING off the 2007 department store counters with its unique, sensual, medicinal, rich, complex, luxurious beauty. I'm simply smitten. Every time I raise my wrist to my nose my pulse quickens just a little. I'd pay three times the amount I paid for this. Based on the attention it has garnered I bought this blind, spotting it dusty, in its wrapper, in a back, back corner of a sale shelf in a fragrance shop in Mexico, with a fluorescent blue sign above it that said Promocion 30% (it deserves to be behind glass at Bergdorf Goodman) and I am so glad I did.

If you love niche oddness and exclusivity, you will have no trouble loving M7. Oh, yeah!...

I just received my sample and was completed surprised at the wonderful scent. It is my new favorite.
Good staying power, too. Just ordered a 3.3 oz.

One spray of this love potion oozes power, wealth, and sexual magnetism. An olfactory delight! This is my signature Fall/Winter scent.

It took me a few days of constant wear to really appreciate the beauty of this scent. Upon first application, the oud note was harsh, even jagged, and seemed to disturb the continuity of the composition. After a few applications, perhaps my nose adjusted to the characteristic roughness of the oud, or my brain just learned to process it differently, but it seemed to blend effortlessly into the rest of the scent, creating an aura of masculinity and sex. This is definitely a 'naughty' scent. Just go easy on the trigger; a little goes a long way.

This is, as i think the closest cologne to Gucci Pour Homme, which by the standards is something very good. very oriental, very woody, very YSL.

Top notch scent in my book. It reminds me a lot of GPH, but with less wood and a bit more vetiver and has a nice sweet note to it as well. Lasts a very long time, and we'll see if the ladies like it as well. Good job YSL, much better than Kouros Fraicheur (*barfs*).

It took me a few tries to warm to this scent...

On first wiff, I could tell it was a class, quality scent, but it left me a tad unsure. I soon decided I liked it...

It does have a bit of a medicinal quality. I actually like it, but others may not. What really attracts is the drydown. You're left with a smooth, dusty dusky, creamy pleasing aroma. Sweet, but not too sweet. Luxurious and seductive. Makes me feel wonderful, just classy. I go through it far too quickly...

It really lasts, and unlike many scents, it isn't transformed into something rank or sickly by humid weather (always a plus!). Lovely little maroon bottle too.

Discretion or delirium resides in one's own hands and is dependent entirely upon one's approach to this superb fragrance. It has the power to overwhelm. Used discretely, it is a warm enveloping fragrance of ethereal proportion, but over use, though dangerously tempting for those smitten by M7's elegant Oriental charms, will cause swooning. Spray a little on someone you love but none on yourself. I find this a marvellous way to appreciate a fragrance albeit at the risk of having your loved one think it is a gift but not for yourself. M7 is appropriately romantic and sensual.

This opulent oriental is absolutely gorgeous so pull out all the stops guys & give a good spritz; any man wearing this frag is bound to receive much female attention! M7 oozes of wealth and good taste. Flat out sexy ~ I crave this scent!

I like it i like it alot after an hour or so on my skin it smelled wonderful

Sensual,leathery and dry with a medicinal quality that I'd encountered before in Joop!On me it lasts and lasts.I'm told that agarwood is an aphrodisiac and I certainly got lots of positive comments from the opposite sex when I was wearing this!One of my favourites.

I almost never comment on another mans aftershave, but while rather drunk at a club I became aware of a very strong, woodish, unusual fragrance. Fantastically different to all the usual stuff you are bombarded with in a club. I had to ask what it is. I was amazed to hear it was YSL M7. Amazed because I had tested it previously on a testing card, & while I found it very good it seemed a bit sweet for me. Needless to say, I changed my mind & made I purchase I've never regretted.
A dark, thick fragrance. Interestingly it has elements of being suave & sophisticated, mixed with being slightly dangerous & alarming. Undoubtledly pure class.

This is a very interesting fragrance, and highly regarded on BN. But I agree this one is definitely a try-before-you-buy frag. The medicinal agarwood note can be hard to get past. But this frag can do wonderful things once the medicinal aspect "tones down".

Clearly the best scent I own - it commands presence, and a helps to uplift you into the powerful mood. It's clearly a manly scent.

Although one might initially find this rather strong and perhaps unpleasant (often referring to it as synthetic), the smell grows on you, and grows on you - and by the time you meet others, it mellows into a long-lasting and compelling fragrance.

Definitely a thumbs up.

I can't believe I have not previously reviewed this. Of course, when you come to Basenotes, one of the very first fragrances you will hear about and be recommended is M7. The reputation is well-deserved. M7 is thick and sweet (not as sweet as many of today's men's scents though), ambery with a medicinal touch. To me the dominant notes are the agarwood and amber. The medicinal tinge of the agarwood, as well as the biting spiciness of what could be ginger, keep this from being a gooey sweet mess. Instead it's warm and sensual, while also being edgy and unique. The only other scent that achieves a somewhat similar effect to my nose is MPG's Soir d'Orient...and try to find that for $15 at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I'm not saying the two are equal; M7 smells like a less expensive and more manufactured version of the obviously artisanal quality of Soir d'Orient. M7 is also more modern smelling, and less overtly "eastern" in flavor. It's a westernized take on some traditionally eastern notes. I had a bottle, sold it, and just now bought another bottle as I decided I missed it too much. Good stuff.

Once again I think this is one of the best men fragrances ever created. If you want to be different and shine with your own light in a very very classy way this is the cologne you should wear. Despite of many unfavorable reviews I give M7 endless thumbs up and I will be the #1 fan forever. It's a shame it's so hard to find now, but treasures use to be hard to find always. Thanks Tom Ford for creating such a precious jewel!!!

This is something quite unusual, and special. This is one of those fragrances where I ended up with the deodorant, aftershave, and shower gel, each of which smells quite different as if emphasizing a different aspect of the cologne.

It's a "broad spectrum" fragrance with a range from sharp high end smokey down to sweet fruity and warm nutty. It's quite overwhelming and smells very different on different days.

It gets awestruck compliments from some and choking disgust from others. It all depends on whether the sweet or sour is coming out of it that day.

It smells it's best on clothes, particularly a turtleneck collar, wool scarf or fur lining, which bring out the sweetness of it.

Smells great on women too.

AMAZING STUFF. I think of M7 as a GPH lite with some sugar on top. It's sweet and spicy. Although it's not as woody or spicy as GPH, another Ford masterpiece, it is fairly potent. It's also sweeter than its Gucci cousin. However, I find M7 more versatile and less formal than GPH. Easy on the trigger though buddy, you'll likely choke someone to death if you spray too much. Awesome fragrance. Not to mention it's my favorite YSL.

I tested this one today. I think it is a fairly descent scent. I could definetely see myself wearing thisone on time or another.The bottle is OK. But as the horrible scentsnob I am I would like to have a better name for it. Ravageur pour Hommes or something like that. Thumbs up anyway.

A fine combination of sweet spice and wood. The musk seems to appear at the beginning of the middle notes which cuts the sweetness of the amber. A nice cedar note sweetened with vanilla in the dry down. Very nice performance.

If you O.D. on this, you'll never forget it. As with MOST frags, use in moderation and enjoy.

Fans of agarwood, come stand by the stage. Hell, get in the mosh pit. Prepare for one hell of a concert.

Foes of agarwood, stay away. (Maybe in the lobby, or on the street, or possibly somewhere in Outer Mongolia.)

Not only is the sweet agarwood predominant (at least to my nose), but M7 is also largely dominated by musk, and lots of it. VERY sexy stuff!

This is one of those love it/hate it scents. (I for one can't imagine any middle ground.) In that regard, it stands in a proud circle of friends: Gucci PH, A*men, L'Anarchiste, Musc Ravageur, Body Kouros, Gentleman and Daim Blond (to name but a few).

I personally love this stuff, and wear it often. Others, however, hate it with a purple passion and will disparage it to their graves.

In short: TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.

This is a major spice attack, in a good way. And I swear there is ginger in this as well as pepper, and basically an entire spice market. It is very strong and lasts well, so it is not for shy folk and possibly not for the office either, but it is very memorable!Perhaps a little wizarding magic, too, must be the mandrake.

Great strong fragrance, still holds its own today, lots of lovely spice that the gucci’s provide, very nice indeed. Was going to go for the ‘fresh’ version after the reviews, but Im going to go for the original instead after smelling this for the first time in duty free. Try it, it’s a classic, and unlike other YSL products it actually lasts more than 5 minutes and has depth. You need this.

Such a nice, warm spicy/woody scent, almost red-hot in the opening, like chilli and curry. Then it quickly becomes more musky, a naughty musk with a hint of vanilla-y sweetness.
It's perhaps a little bit like a masculine version of Dior Addict - wood/vanilla/musk, but more spicy and less sweet. Or a more "common" rendering of naughty musk scents like Muscs Koublai Khan. The spicy/savory musk note reminds me of cumin. Very nice!

One of the best, I wear it in the fall because it has that fall vibe to me, very strong and loud, if the two mix, and very distincitve, i loved it right off

I was turned off by the provocative ad campaign for this fragrance, but the cool bottle and the general excellence of YSL tempted me enough to try the seventh mens fragrance release from YSL.
M7 starts off with a citrus and slightly sweet top notes which subside soon to reveal a sweet slightly medicinal scent. This middle phase is the main focus of M7 - the agarwood note. Agarwood is an expensive wood, which in its true form has a slightly pungent smell. Cultivated (by fungi) agarwood on the other hand smells sweet and medicinal; a whole lot like sandalwood+vetiver, infact. This note is the heart of the fragrance, and is deep, rich and very long lasting. If you dont like rich orientals or sandalwood based fragrances, you may not be partial to M7.
M7 is a very rich and long lasting fragrance extremely suitable for cold weather. It is potent, and so proper application technique is required. It also elicits lots of compliments. Along with Van Cleef pour homme, this is now one of my Fall weather staples. I cant get enough of that agarwood note !

I like how this scent seems to divide everyone's opinion more than others. I'm on the "love it" camp. I never imagined such a masculine, retro scent would smell good on me

This is a fragrance that is very difficult to get a finger on. It definitely falls into the woody/spicy category but with that being said, there isn't much identifiable spice so what is left are the various wood, musk, and amber elements that give the fragrance the bulk of its character. In addition to the lack of spice is the lack of almost any fruit characteristics, there is only the faintest hint of a citrus freshness in the opening, just as it is sprayed, but this does not last long. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a rather dark fragrance, there are no friendly elements to this fragrance, in fact it can be somewhat dangerous and intimidating. Despite its inherent dark character, the powdery aspects of this scent prevent it from being cloying. At the price (easily found between $20-$30), this is a fragrance that every man should add to his wardrobe.

Dont't buy this expecting Aqua di Gio or Allure Homme. This is one of those retro 70s raunchy ultra musculine scents but a good one at that, with a modern twist. The vetiver and agarwood balance out the smokeiness and gives it a bit of medicinal quality. Quite unique in that I can't think of any other musculine scents similar to this. Dark, heady and smokey but not too much like the real old school scents.

One of my all-time favorites. The scent is very dynamic, and wears well in most all weather (though I prefer it on cooler days, along with rainy days in the summer). At times, it can be a very rich and liquidy, and other times dry and woody. Definately a try-before-you-buy type scent, but even if you don't like it, you have to respect it for it's unique aroma.

I have never been a fan of M7. But things took a dramatic turn recently. I decided to test this one again, and what do you know, it was like match made in heaven, i was somehow smitten. This one took me the longest time to figure out, but it was worth the wait, the result is that now i cannot live without it. It is just so magical! And also since agarwood is so rare and expensive these days, i might as well stock up on this one. M7 starts out fresh, it awakens you right away. Then it settles into a gorgeous sweet medicinal agarwood note combined with the vetiver to give it a masculine edge. And this medicinal character really gives it a uniqueness, this is also where the burning smell is coming from, thus it might be hard to take it in right away, but with time you'll realize just how special it is. The fragrance gets softer and sweeter, but does not lose its power and masculine edge. The overall effect is luxurious, hypnotic and seductive, taking blissfulness to a new level. It is the best thing i have ever smelled in the earth's entire existence.

No I wouldn't say it smells like bug spray. It is a fairly inaccessable fragrance in some ways ( like a few YSL frag's I can think of). It certainly has some very individual qualities. I would recommend it be worn in humid weather (based on my own experience). If this is too 'hard-core' a frag' then certainly give M7 fresh a go. It captures the individuality of M7 but in a more accessable manner.

Just bought it today in Beijing, and the condition is M7 is very rare in China now, I bought it after 2 years since my first trial of it. As a perfume junkie, I got too many to use, that's why I am a little conservative to buy something that I am not quite sure about.
I used to consider the smell quite unacceptable, but last time when I found it at the vendor I just put a little on my left arm, the temperature was 29 celsiums then. And I kept sniffing my arm for the whole afternoon.
Later I bought my first bottle of Alexander Mcqueen instead of M7. But I just could forget about M7 and I was there at the vendor again this morning and finally I made up my mind there.
Couldn't wait to open the bottle, had I sprayed just once on my t-shirt, then it rains and I walk all through the rain without an umbrella.
I didn't regret of buying it at the price of USD34 for 1.7oz, but havenot known the scent good enough now.
All I can say is that it is really dark and smokey, I have to spend quite some time see whether it grows.

I bought my first bottle in year 2003. The advertisment provoked me to get this fragrance. I was also thinking that this fragrance will be my favourite...True enough! I bought this again in 2006. Can't get hold of it and misses it so much when i uses other similar fragrance to replace it. The bottle is definitely masculine, elegant, stunning and truly bold. It starts off quite fresh, not citrus but like the rosemary with bergamot. Then as time goes by, smells musky and elegant. This fragrance is definitely to tell the women out there that the male presence is here when one uses this fragrance. You will either HATE or LOVE this fragrance. I truly LOVE it. Sensual...
My female friends give thumbs up for this. My mom even crave for this. More suitable for 30 plus men, but I'm 23 now. Have been using it since 20. MY FAVOURITE!!!! Mamamia!

the top notes remind me of a trip to the dentist's. after that, hell is let loose. i love it, tho it's very difficult to wear. it's next on my list.

Masculine. Woody with tobacco and slightly medicinal overtones. A very nice scent. To someone pondering M7, I would recommend trying Gucci Pour Homme first. I wear these two in winter, and find myself turning to GPH much more frequently.

Lovely scent for an evening out at a formal restaurant... It just oozes class. :)

It reminds me of Dr. Pepper right when its sprayed, and for about the first hour, it smells really "thick" and medicinal. It put me off at first, but its so unique you almost have to like it. The drydown is just great. Warm and unique and intense. Pretty much has to be worn at night...no way around that. I always feel really suave when i wear it.

This one is without a doubt, my all-time favorite scent. It's a tad dangerous, a little in your face and delicious on the senses. A smoky, hazey, woody but vulnerable fragrance that makes the think of saturday night campfires on a dreary rainy sunday morning. Girls I've worn it around have described it as a very "manly" scent, and I have not received any negative feedback on it. I wish the scent lasted a bit longer. For such a strong fragrance, it's longevity on me is suspect. overall, wonderful and very distinct gift to the world of smells.

Warm, wet and... wonderful! Thought the bottle's not as hot as the scent, M7's really maverlous! All the girls that I'm into love it :)

This is one of the only scents I've ever immediately tried on my skin and thought "wow, what a great scent!" I don't find that it evolves very much, but that is a good thing in my opinion since I like it from the topnotes down. As with others in this category, though, I recommend moderation.

A wonderfully rich woody Oriental. On my skin, the citrus and spices seem to disappear almost immediately leaving primarily the masculine agarwood scent supported by a subtle, slightly green vetiver with maybe a touch of rosemary-maybe. To me, the other notes don’t seem to matter—only the agarwood / vetiver. I have no control, this almost narcotic combination forces me to keep smelling my wrist. After about forty minutes, the fragrance moves to a lightly sweet amber and musk base—somewhat dark and very rich—and it keeps traces of the agarwood throughout. M7 is a raw, warm, and sensual fragrance that is a refreshing contrast to the mostly anemic offerings of recent years. Thumbs way way up on this one!

Reminds me a bit of YSL Rive Gauche por homme, but toned down a bit...A sexy woodsy mystery...like a summer's night ride through the countryside on a twisty road, in a vintage convertable with the top down, each turn reveals something new, and yet strangely familiar. This is a mature scent, yet it doesnt take it's self too seriously...it's a sporty scent, yet not athletic...deffinately something to fall in love with...

There's a purity as in spiritualism when I smell this. I seem to envision a Japanese Buddhist temple on a bright and calm spring day with citrus fruit left before the alter with clean incense burning, and tatami mats visible in the adjoining rooms. Their "Fresh" version is just as wonderful, lighter but more contrasting because of the higher concentration of citrus used, it seems to bring out more the camphorous qualities as well as the subtle spices fixed at the base of the scent. Use this when you want to feel at one with yourself.

This is damn potent stuff - I can get buy with one spray and can therefore see my bottle lasting the rest of my life. It is medicinal for me, at least a little, but then I like medicinal. The drydown is what sells this however - its delicious.

I bought it for my man last winter. I bought it after smelling it at Sephora and loving the aromatic woodsy notes.

It is a new classic style, meaning it was made not to be trendy but to be a classic. In my opinion, it fits a guy who, as another reviewer said, is serious and sexy; for someone who doesn't talk much but isn't shy. It's great to wear in cool weather or for someone who doesn't sweat a lot.

I finally got M7 after hearing the clamor and I will say this...you have to test it. The paper does no justice.

M7 starts out as a very spicy blend as the oriental top notes and the Agarwood and Musk form a powerful punch that oozes masculinity. As the top notes die down a very pleasent yet powerful scent emerges as the Amber and Mandrake start to come out. It is a beautiful fragrance that will please young (I'm 21) and old. A classic. It was also very reasonably priced as my bottle only cost me $25.

Mixes a lot of different ideas. Spicy, dry, sweet, and woody all at once. Kind of smells like a mix of Bois du Portugal and Gucci Envy to me. Very long lasting, incredibly versatile, and a must own in my opinion.

Really hard to find, but one of the few fragrances I have ever put on that made any girl horny just by sniffing it.

this scent really needs the right type of man to go with it..it truly is serious yet sexual. kind of an incense-y musk smell. i was quite grateful to YSL for bringing this out as they discontinued a previous fragrance that i consdered 'the one' for me(opium pour homme in the e.d.p..i love it!) it is not necessarily a similar fragrance but there is something about both that appeals to me in an intensely sexy way.

Before I purchased M7, I was looking for fragrances that would fill in my gap of spicy and woody fragrances. Many basenoters recommended M7, which I bought blind. When I first smelt it, I knew this was exactly what I needed. Not only did it fill the gap in my collection, it brought in a construction team and built a whole new level on top. A truly magnificent scent that starts off with a mellow bergamot and quickly develops into a smoky, woody and ambery scent that is pure nose candy.

Musk. Nothing but musk. But I love it! It was my signature scent for a while when it first came out. From my experience, it started out with a perfect harmony of saccrine sweentness and darkish spiciness...and then the sweetness leaves, slowly transforming into a very woody scent. A few hours later, Musk and wood dominates...a perfect round-down for a well crafted scent.

M7 was my third fragrance, and it holds a very special place in my heart. As I progressed with my fragrance hobby, M7 smelled different to me; it became much better with each wearing. It’s a rich, sweet, and powdery fragrance with dark and velvety accords that are accented by earthy accords. It’s a must own for everyone. It’s amazing to think a designer actually put this fragrance out with the current market the way it is.

Don't really need another review here, but I always like to give my biased, subjective, and opinionated two cents. I like M7, but not as much as other fragrances I have. I only wear it occassionally when the mood is right. M7 is very woody and dark. The agarwood is biting and a bit medicinal, but it dries slightly sweet. Overall, M7 smells exotic, manly, rich, but too agressive to be sexy. I get more compliments on it from men than women. Oddly, I only wear M7 on hot summer nights- just a spritz on my neck, and never for a formal evening. It just feels right that way-- raw, natural, and powerful.

Raw, sexual and daring. Like the website says..."A raw physicality"...the scent of danger, seduction. M7 gets my vote for one of the best ever made.

Well, the name sounds like a high-performance BMW, but what do you expect when it was commissioned by a guy whose last name was Ford? That said, this is one of my favorite fragrances, especially for winter wear. It's a very deep, woody scent with amazing sillage. The only problem: it's increasingly hard to find here in the US. Ugh.
