I've worn this only once and I'm teetering between positive and neutral in my opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the opening and middle accords and the projection and longevity are superb. The base is where I have conflicts. Normally, the favorite accord in any frag to me, it develops into a cotton-candy aroma that's borderline cloying. It's almost over the top, but stops just short of that.

I've thought about picking up a bottle, but I would have to layer it with something once it reaches the base in order to subdue it a bit. I guess I'll go with a neutral rating in spite of loving 2 thirds of this composition.

I can certainly understand the objections to the smell of Agarwood from many people in M7. Yet in my experience, once applied the medicinal smell is transformed immediately into a gorgeously sexy woody accord. I'm not sure about actual mandrake root in this fragrance, but it certainly has a magical effect on me when I wear it. A winner on my skin!

Woody, aromatic, sensual, slightly animalic.

I must say I am very impressed with this perfume. I bought it as a gamble, as another attempt to enjoy an YSL perfume. I bought Jazz and Opium EDP in the past, but I thought the first was mediocre and the second was too spicy. I actually felt sick when wearing Opium EDP, and had to sell it at the marketplace. Opium EDP is nauseating, a feverish excess in olfactory sensations.

But M7 is a gorgeous, delicious, sensual, smooth, subtle perfume. I love its resinous agarwood notes. It keeps all the best parts of Opium without adding the nasty spices. This perfume is very sexy and I plan to use it when I go out at night.

Agarwood Agarwood and Agarwood.......This is most prominent note in this fragrance. Dry down is awesome with good longevity and high sillage. Opening notes are difficult to bear....but....once it settles down.....you enjoy it a lot. I can smell it on me even after 12 hours.....which is excellent on my skin. Although i get a hint of spices with base notes but mostly its all agarwood.

It is a very masculine fragrance and I seldom use it....only for special times. Some people don't like it but for me its worth wearing....but....definitely not a daily wear fragrance

Yes, it stands out....this is not a scent that goes unnoticed..I guess for some - reading the 'bad' reviews - it is simply too much, It makes them unsure......Don't be fooled. This is the top of the bill. This is why people pay money for a smell... I havent come across anybody that doesn't like it, Women always stop and smell and ask me what perfume i am wearing.,I admit, in the beginning it can be overpowering. Just dont overspray and give it a little time. The drydown is simply sensational. This perfume works in two ways. Many reviewers say it takes personality and courage to wear M7 and i can see why. But it also works the other way. M7 gives personality. For Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier, the two people who designed this perfume, this must be everything they ever wanted from a perfume.

I give just one chance to the people, and sometimes I think that even that is too much. On the other hand, I am convinced that every scent, with no exception, deserves a second chance.
I bought M7 without smelling it first. When I smelt it for the first time, I did not like it… I did not like it at all. It was somehow… weird. My father wanted to encourage me with a following, very suggestive, compliment: “It smells exactly like lubricating oil.”
After that I didn’t use it for some time. A few months later I tried it again… and I liked it. The time transformed the weirdness into the originality and, after some time, I fell in love with it. Agarwood just took my heart. Cavallier and Morillas proved that they are a great team.
I get the compliments (and I mean – the “real” compliments) every time I wear it, and not just from a female part of the population. Namely, I regularly get the compliments even from men. I said “even” because in my country, which is still living in the 20th century, a man just doesn’t give the compliments to another man.
There are only three situations when you, as a man, can get a compliment from another man on your scent:
1) He absolutely adores your scent and He just can’t hide that, although he thoroughly tries to do that,
2) You put a revolver to His head,
3) You are the big boss and He is your ancillary and a toady.
M7’s longevity and sillage are as enormous as my love toward this brilliant scent.

A great fragrance. Spicy and full of lots of flavours that gel perfectly.
For a newcomer to perfume, this may come across as strong but for me, the middle notes are much lighter than lots of musky and heavy men's scents.
A stand-out amongst mass-market fragrances.
Problem on me is that the middle and base notes come across as stale and almost mouldy. I'd wear this if the top notes stayed around a little longer.

Discretion or delirium resides in one's own hands and is dependent entirely upon one's approach to this superb fragrance. It has the power to overwhelm. Used discretely, it is a warm enveloping fragrance of ethereal proportion, but, though dangerously tempting for those smitten by M7's elegant Oriental charms, over use will cause swooning. M7 is appropriately romantic and sensual. I have to curb my desire to keep re-applying it because it has remarkable longevity; the real issue is a kind of intoxication or addiction. I adore it.

Something is very wrong here. I dont know what is it.....some fluid smell like medicine. Yuck!
That awful smell is M7, so strong, so sweet as well......a big mistake of a big brand. I really dont understand why YSL did an hospital fragance. Reasons? I really dont know, but I never will buy this.
Next please.

A spicy and oddly minty scent. The agarwood really, really repulses me in this one. Really sick tenacious opening. It claws at you. Though has a comforting woody drydown but the overall experience is a little foul. Reminds me of hospitals and I hate hospitals.

Takes a lot of courage everytime i sprayed m7.
its strength scent in every notes...and i feel my body temperature keep raising if i used it overspray...

the top notes is very medicinal for my nose, but the drydown its very cool
there is not sweet aroma in this fragrance..

M7 is love n hate fragrance, better try 1st before you buy, not for newbies, bitter, very manly, n woman you should stay away from this (this is for man only)

1st time i write this review i put thumbs down.. why ? that because im newbies in fragrance but after couple of month i wear lot of edt i found this M7 interesting to wear

put it very light and found someting clean medicinal and little bit soapy...

This scent is not for the faint of heart. Intense/deep and dark, this oozes in-your face masculinity.
Dramatic sillage and stays on your skin for a very long time. This is agarwood that has the wallop of a baseball bat.
If you want it safe/clean (dare I say boring), don't get this. If you want to stand out, be different, be a rebel --
this one's for you.

Really? I was expecting such good things from this fragrance based upon reviews from this site. Just goes to show me that everyone's tastes are different. SAMPLE THIS ONE BEFORE YOU BUY IT...

M7 smells exactly like my Great Grandma used to smell. This might sound cliche but it's true, whatever fragrance she wore bore a striking resemblance to this one. The easiest way that I can describe the smell is that of flat root beer with some powdered sugar thrown on top, along with some sweet-smelling sawdust. Goes on strong, amazing sillage and longevity. I don't get the "super masculine" description that some have given it, to me it smells like it could easily be worn on a woman (see my earlier "grandma" comment), just too sweet (almost sickly sweet) for a "I am man, hear me roar" type fragrance. Might smell better on older men than me, but it doesn't work for this 27-year old. Kudos to those of you who wear this and like this, but it just isn't my thing. Again, try before you buy!!!

What can I possibly add that 120 other people haven't covered? Not much.

Received M7 today in a trade. Everything written here is true. Ferocious, foul opening that I embarrassed to let my fiance smell. My dog ran outside when I sprayed it on my arm to test. The warm, woody drydown that mingles woods with a bit of honey sweetness is lovely and now that it's been on my skin for 4-5 hours I'm enjoying it tremendously.

I can appreciate the quality but this isn't my cup of tea. I even like some of the 80s macho powerhouses like Polo and Chaps, and in some ways I like this. I just can't possibly ever image when I would wear M7, unless I wanted to apply 3 hours before seeing another human.

This will stay in my collection. But in the back.

This is an Oriental - Woody type of perfume
Most of it smells like of agarwood. So if you like agarwood, you should definitely check this one out.
It smells like a modern Middle Eastern perfume, as the people their often wear agarwood.

Ehh I didn't like it at all. Maybe it's because I'm 18 and this is an "older" scent, but it just felt like i walked into a church ceremony whenever I sprayed this. I didn't even really see the whole "super-masculine" rep it has.... but rather just a whole bunch of incense.

On my skin, M7 starts boldly oud-y and medicinal in a good way. Uniquely woody and definitely a scent that stands out in comparison to any other mainstream men’s fragrances. It is as close to Arabian oud perfume oils as a department store fragrance ever gotten, and that was before niche fragrances have gained the momentum they have reached today. It lasts at this state for a good 2-4 hours at which point it becomes overly sweet as the synthetic musk base takes over. On my skin this is when it turns into raspberry candy. Inbetween the medicinal agarwood and the sugared raspberry there is a short phase where a mineral note of vetiver emerges, dry and almost salty. Although marketed for men (the infamous full-frontal male nude is unlikely to be forgotten, and perhaps was intended for masking the previous expose of YSL himself in an ad dated 1971). Based on my experience I can only assert the presence of agarwood, vetiver, amber and/or labdanum, musk ands raspberry.

I never knew what Agarwood smelled like until I got this. Groundbreaking to use in modern designer scent. Didn't pay off for YSL as it went straight to the bargain bins. Anyway, the opening notes say that Bergamot, Mandarin & Rosemary. I detect none of them. It's as if it goes straight to the heart of Agarwood. Smells a bit like Listerine of days gone by. Bracing and hard to accept at first. Has a burnt quality as well. The Vetiver gives it a very earthy and tuberous-root feel. Somebody mentioned that there's mandrake root in here and I believe it. After about 30 minutes, it starts an ominous brown glow of musk & amber. Captivating, intriguing & smooth. Lasts for ages too. I will add that this scent is suitable only for Autumn & Winter nights.

Try burning a stick of Shoyeido's top quality pure agarwood incense 'Sho Kaku' and then smell M7. They have as much in common as a diamond with a lump of coal. The first thing that comes to mind when I smell M7 is some kind of horrific, chemical cough syrup that has been smothered with synthetic cherry flavor to thinly disguise the bad taste, but actually makes it worse. I have tried to find something redeeming in this but am always forced to wash it off as it brings on a headache. If you sample 'Nu' you will smell the same notes, but very toned down and wearable. Almost like they discovered some toxin (M7) and refined and modified it to make a wearable fragrance. On top of that, another boring variation on a 'masculine' cube bottle (this one the color of slightly used motor oil, I guess hinting at the contents). Why do men's fragrances always have such unimaginative bottles?
Sickly sweet, cloying and just vile. Spray some on your pillow if you want to wake up with a migraine.

A dark fragrance that is saturated with Oud/Agarwood. Reminds me of the incense burning in orthodox hindu temples in South India.

This is one fragrance I'll take it to my grave

This one took a few tries before I fell in love with it. Totally unique. Go very light with it and give it about 45 minutes before going out (as is the case with so many other frags) - it's then absolutely perfect. Agreed that it is a scent for the cool late Autumn and holiday/Winter season. Magical.

Good medicine! This makes me feel as if I've rolled in a pile of health-giving funky leaves, then drank something warm by a fire. Or maybe sucked on a pastille from a wooden medicine chest filled with aromas. I'm a woman, and don't care at all if this is too 'masculine' for me to wear. I'm getting a bottle!

After trying various Montales and pure oud oils, I can confidently say that this is in no way a decent oud fragrance – it’s just too synthetic and rancid beyond belief.

I've had my bottle of M7 for a few months now. For my skin, I have to wait 30 minutes after spraying before engaging in any human contact. Personally I dont enjoy the opening notes, but after that it's simply incredible.

It's the only scent i own that got a random female to just come up and sniff my neck and say "you smell really good" to me in a whisper. So basically im always going to keep a bottle in stock.

Unfortunately for me the sprayer on my bottle is broken so i had to remove it. So instead of a mist I get a thick to stream of juice.

I like to spray this on my clothes and in my room as well.

Words cannot describe how much I love this fragrance. I just cannot describe it. Buy a bottle, I don't think a puny sample spritz will give you a fulfilling experience.

Sillage; 3-5 feet
Longevity; 10 hours plus
Strength; Intense opening, soft dry-down

Wow! It is a STRONG scent - harsh even at first. And the sillage - people will know you put it on three houses down! (Well thats an exaggeration, but it is very very strong).

It is intriguing, and it really takes some chances, and pulls them off for the most part, but it is not a general purpose scent - good for night, NEVER for the office. It lasts a long time.

A reviewer said "go easy on the trigger, a little goes a long way" - and is 100% correct. Do a single puff in front of you and go into the cloud. That should be sufficient.

A very sensual and modern fragrance, resembling Gucci's Envy. The sweet and spicy notes are blended just right, so it becomes neither cloying nor "in your face". Suitable for romantic occasions.

Wow! My first posting here and it transpires i've been wearing a much talked about scent for nearly 6 months!

To be honest M7 is truly has the 'marmite' factor in that you'll either love it or hate it. For that resaon alone its not an option for a 'blind buy' Visits the pharmacy two or three times and spray on skin and then make your decision on the the 3 stages especially the dry down

Its certainly a very masculine smell and does start off with an almost medicinal note. However, its on the middle and base notes that i think it shines with an incredible warmth and 'woodyness'.

A number of warnings though. My view is that its a winter and evening only scent. It kust doess not suit that hot summer afternoon and will too be cloying. In addition goes easy when applying if your skin is anything like mine. This is serioulsy powerful stuff and never forget that you are 'shouting' if people can smell a vapour trail behind you. For longevity this fragrance is 11 out of 10 compared to anything iv'e ever worn before. It even stomps all over original 'pink' Joop which was the most powerful i had experienced. Do check out that your wife/girlfriend likes it because it does linger so long.

I have worn YSL's "M7" quite a few times now but I am still not sure what to think. The first time I tried it on I was taken aback by its sillage and longevity. Whatever you do, two sprays of this is more than enough. Especially if you also use the deodorant stick. The opening is heavy and sweet and throughout that heaviness remains. Given the fact that when I am writing this there are 152 reviews of "M7" there must be something about it, it seems. So far I don't think it is a bad scent, but it is somewhat overrated. Still, it's a nice scent to wear for a night out on the town in the winter.

I purchased the aftershave lotion and was surprised that the medicinal note was hardly present and dried down to a really nice warm addictive scent. I thought I was missing something so I bought a gift box with the ET 3.3 and some body wash. Man what a difference in the opening!!,Almost gagged me with a sort of smashed in the head with a blunt instrument dipped in Cough Syrup. Within 10 minutes an even stronger beautiful scent slowly emerged better than the AS lotion. M7 reminds me of taking the old codeine based cough syrup which tasted like hell but left you feeling warm and floaty. If your not to daring I would stick with the after shave lotion..Very different and my favorite.

It's all true... all that you've read and heard, and that's why I love M7 so much. You really will smell Band-Aids. You really will smell red cough syrup. You will smell resinous precious oud and rich amber which starts heavy and dries down to a marshmallow softness. You will smell the hint of a pine forest and tree bark. This smells like NOTHING I've experienced before.

Yes, this is what I've been waiting for. Five years after its launch I'm smelling it for the first time and it wipes nearly EVERYTHING off the 2007 department store counters with its unique, sensual, medicinal, rich, complex, luxurious beauty. I'm simply smitten. Every time I raise my wrist to my nose my pulse quickens just a little. I'd pay three times the amount I paid for this. Based on the attention it has garnered I bought this blind, spotting it dusty, in its wrapper, in a back, back corner of a sale shelf in a fragrance shop in Mexico, with a fluorescent blue sign above it that said Promocion 30% (it deserves to be behind glass at Bergdorf Goodman) and I am so glad I did.

If you love niche oddness and exclusivity, you will have no trouble loving M7. Oh, yeah!...

I can see some of the merits on this one, but it's way too thick, leathery and quite sickly for me. Not a pleasing one to wear, and I have tried wearing it. I felt quite suffocated by it.

Ahh, it brings back such good memories of the summertime.. Mmmm. Being at the pool with my friends, doing cannonball dives off the diving board. The unpleasant smell of chlorine left on your skin...

That is exactly what it smells like, pool water. If you want to smell like this bathe in a bathtub full of chlorine and dry yourself off, not rinse! Dry.. with a beach towel. Then you're sure to seduce a mermaid or something...

Some people refer to this as dry - I don't get that, for me it's the opposite - sweet, thick and sirupy. Thank god for the incensy note which makes it wearable for me. M7 reminds me of Chypre Rouge (laced with Gucci PH) from Lutens, even the colors (bottle vs juice) are similar. This thick beast is def. a quality frag with very good staying power and sillage. I just wish it smelled less sugary/candy-like to my nose.

It took me a few days of constant wear to really appreciate the beauty of this scent. Upon first application, the oud note was harsh, even jagged, and seemed to disturb the continuity of the composition. After a few applications, perhaps my nose adjusted to the characteristic roughness of the oud, or my brain just learned to process it differently, but it seemed to blend effortlessly into the rest of the scent, creating an aura of masculinity and sex. This is definitely a 'naughty' scent. Just go easy on the trigger; a little goes a long way.

I'm sure I was expecting too much from M7, given all the hoopla. I certainly expected a more forward and aggressive oudh. M7 goes on very dry, with a moderate touch of oudh, but develops a faint sweetness at its heart after the first half hour. It becomes a thick, dark, and woody scent, but the potentially jagged oudh note is cushioned, (even muffled,) by a strong soapy undercurrent. This leaves M7 smelling very tame compared to the Montale oudh fragrances, but certainly broadens its appeal as well.

After a couple of hours' wear the oudh settles deep into the background while spices and vanilla take the helm. The soapy note that was apparent at the onset surfaces again during the woody drydown, which is far more tame than the oudh seasoned opening.

Quality and an eventful development, but it doesn't necessarily excite me all that much.

Top notch scent in my book. It reminds me a lot of GPH, but with less wood and a bit more vetiver and has a nice sweet note to it as well. Lasts a very long time, and we'll see if the ladies like it as well. Good job YSL, much better than Kouros Fraicheur (*barfs*).

It took me a few tries to warm to this scent...

On first wiff, I could tell it was a class, quality scent, but it left me a tad unsure. I soon decided I liked it...

It does have a bit of a medicinal quality. I actually like it, but others may not. What really attracts is the drydown. You're left with a smooth, dusty dusky, creamy pleasing aroma. Sweet, but not too sweet. Luxurious and seductive. Makes me feel wonderful, just classy. I go through it far too quickly...

It really lasts, and unlike many scents, it isn't transformed into something rank or sickly by humid weather (always a plus!). Lovely little maroon bottle too.

I like this at first, warm, woody, spicey, powdery - but after a while, all I notice is this fake candy-like smell...Its like cling film is covering this fragrance...making it smell shallow and stuffy...

I can't get over that after having worn it these last two years...Sorry, if I had reviewed this even 6 months ago, my opinion would be different...but I can't escape it, so thumbs down...Furthermore I think it smells like a decaying Chritmans tree, still covered in plastic covered ginger-bread men and chocolate with nuts in it...

And its not just on me - my dad, both of my brothers, my sister's boyfriend and two close friends of mine wear this, and I can smell what I described above on them, and even my brothers and dad are starting to get it too.

Had to try it because of the buzz, but ech! a spice overload with hints of incense around the edges - but couldn't tolerate it and could not understand the allure at all. Then on second try I used much less, and advise to test sniff only from a distance so you don't burn out the nose, and then . . . ok, I can see the spice + agarwood is an alluring and mysterious presence. Really can't compare to GPH as another review reported - the Gucci PH is on another level of excellence in my view as it is more accessible and the balance of woods, frankincense, warm spice is masterfully done. M7 is another fragance with an instruction manual for proper use - but if used correctly it defitely has drawing power. Good for a night out with lots of people around, but for intimate situatios I prefer GPH, Avignon, or even Coze by PG for this type of effect.

I almost never comment on another mans aftershave, but while rather drunk at a club I became aware of a very strong, woodish, unusual fragrance. Fantastically different to all the usual stuff you are bombarded with in a club. I had to ask what it is. I was amazed to hear it was YSL M7. Amazed because I had tested it previously on a testing card, & while I found it very good it seemed a bit sweet for me. Needless to say, I changed my mind & made I purchase I've never regretted.
A dark, thick fragrance. Interestingly it has elements of being suave & sophisticated, mixed with being slightly dangerous & alarming. Undoubtledly pure class.

It's probably me, and it concerns both YSL and Chanel fragrance. At first they smells quite unique, makes you want to dig in to them, but when you do, well, there's nothing there. And where that horrible synthetic feeling comes from?
To be exact, I wouldn't find them terrible, if only I could get rid of that (sorry for being obscure) "sense of lack". Otherwise they would be really nice perfumes, but then again, nothing special.

Trendy, but leaves me expecting and hoping for more. It's very discreet and i wonder if this is just discretion or poor lasting power- anyway, the separation between these two is dangerously blured. For me, it starts in a very creamy, almost sweet way, slightly floral, almost with no clue of the citrus- herbal ingredients as listed above. The drydown reminds of scented candles- even with a slight honey and beeswax association, berries, winter fruits and spices, and a certain smoky quality without the usual animalic-leathery-macho touch often associated with smoky male scents, it's more a dim and highly spritualised hint of gentle, subtly fragrant, incense smoke. Tough a discreet, elaborate and youthfully appealing scent, compared to Opium, it lacks the latters lasting power, intensity and high-end timeless stylishness( this one belonging to and triggering a more younger, more flexible, less formal age group). Speaking of Opium it bears resemblance both to Opium- a much lighter and more modern Opium, but also to Kouros, yet without that vile, repulsive unclean stuffiness- as if the few nice notes of Kouros were isolated from the ill-smelling conglomerate and mingled into a more sophisticated and less recognizable broader variety of notes.
Maybe is have to try this scent during a warmer season- in winter, it seems to be dulled and smell neutral, to wear off soon, but i guess the effect is far more noticeable in summer- i guess, mingled with the right amount of body temperature( just enough to highlight a scent without smelling sweaty or sleazy) and hot air, it might show off its true potential.

I have something of a love/hate relationship with M7. I love it most of the day when I wear it but usually by the end of the day it starts to really get on my nerves with its sweetness. I just don't find myself wearing it that much.

This is a very interesting fragrance, and highly regarded on BN. But I agree this one is definitely a try-before-you-buy frag. The medicinal agarwood note can be hard to get past. But this frag can do wonderful things once the medicinal aspect "tones down".

Clearly the best scent I own - it commands presence, and a helps to uplift you into the powerful mood. It's clearly a manly scent.

Although one might initially find this rather strong and perhaps unpleasant (often referring to it as synthetic), the smell grows on you, and grows on you - and by the time you meet others, it mellows into a long-lasting and compelling fragrance.

Definitely a thumbs up.

*The red bottle is absolutely lovely!

I can't believe I have not previously reviewed this. Of course, when you come to Basenotes, one of the very first fragrances you will hear about and be recommended is M7. The reputation is well-deserved. M7 is thick and sweet (not as sweet as many of today's men's scents though), ambery with a medicinal touch. To me the dominant notes are the agarwood and amber. The medicinal tinge of the agarwood, as well as the biting spiciness of what could be ginger, keep this from being a gooey sweet mess. Instead it's warm and sensual, while also being edgy and unique. The only other scent that achieves a somewhat similar effect to my nose is MPG's Soir d'Orient...and try to find that for $15 at Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I'm not saying the two are equal; M7 smells like a less expensive and more manufactured version of the obviously artisanal quality of Soir d'Orient. M7 is also more modern smelling, and less overtly "eastern" in flavor. It's a westernized take on some traditionally eastern notes. I had a bottle, sold it, and just now bought another bottle as I decided I missed it too much. Good stuff.

Once again I think this is one of the best men fragrances ever created. If you want to be different and shine with your own light in a very very classy way this is the cologne you should wear. Despite of many unfavorable reviews I give M7 endless thumbs up and I will be the #1 fan forever. It's a shame it's so hard to find now, but treasures use to be hard to find always. Thanks Tom Ford for creating such a precious jewel!!!

I bought M7 years ago, when it was launched. At first sniff I was amazed, I was looking for amber notes and unusual male perfume. It worked wenough well, even if it wasn't the perfect fragrance. But something changed after sometimes, perhaps my skin, perhaps my nose or the perfume itself... M7 on my skin turned into a disgusting medical smell :( I have a semi filled bottle on my shelf and I use it to give a good fragrance to the air around me. It works better than on my skin!

This scent attacks your nose and numbs it. Targeted towards the older man. To me it smells like someones "trying too hard".

This is something quite unusual, and special. This is one of those fragrances where I ended up with the deodorant, aftershave, and shower gel, each of which smells quite different as if emphasizing a different aspect of the cologne.

It's a "broad spectrum" fragrance with a range from sharp high end smokey down to sweet fruity and warm nutty. It's quite overwhelming and smells very different on different days.

It gets awestruck compliments from some and choking disgust from others. It all depends on whether the sweet or sour is coming out of it that day.

It smells it's best on clothes, particularly a turtleneck collar, wool scarf or fur lining, which bring out the sweetness of it.

Smells great on women too.

Way too aged to me.. I really like the woody notes but this is as invassive as Dior´s Eau Sauvage.. Definitevely not for young boys unless you need to demonstrate that your father is an YSL fan. Mention apart, the design is sober and brilliant.. a lot of class!

AMAZING STUFF. I think of M7 as a GPH lite with some sugar on top. It's sweet and spicy. Although it's not as woody or spicy as GPH, another Ford masterpiece, it is fairly potent. It's also sweeter than its Gucci cousin. However, I find M7 more versatile and less formal than GPH. Easy on the trigger though buddy, you'll likely choke someone to death if you spray too much. Awesome fragrance. Not to mention it's my favorite YSL.

I tested this one today. I think it is a fairly descent scent. I could definetely see myself wearing thisone on time or another. The bottle is OK. But as the horrible scentsnob I am I would like to have a better name for it. Ravageur pour Hommes or something like that. Thumbs up anyway.

A fine combination of sweet spice and wood. The musk seems to appear at the beginning of the middle notes which cuts the sweetness of the amber. A nice cedar note sweetened with vanilla in the dry down. Very nice performance.

If you O.D. on this, you'll never forget it. As with MOST frags, use in moderation and enjoy.

I tried this today without knowing it's aimed at men, and I thought it was for women. "Ultra masculine" (as the others said)? IMO, it suits very confident "bossy" woman. (On the other hand, I generally think that all the "feminine - masculine" thing is artificial)...

Fans of agarwood, come stand by the stage. Hell, get in the mosh pit. Prepare for one hell of a concert.

Foes of agarwood, stay away. (Maybe in the lobby, or on the street, or possibly somewhere in Outer Mongolia.)

Not only is the sweet agarwood predominant (at least to my nose), but M7 is also largely dominated by musk, and lots of it. VERY sexy stuff!

This is one of those love it/hate it scents. (I for one can't imagine any middle ground.) In that regard, it stands in a proud circle of friends: Gucci PH, A*men, L'Anarchiste, Musc Ravageur, Body Kouros, Gentleman and Daim Blond (to name but a few).

I personally love this stuff, and wear it often. Others, however, hate it with a purple passion and will disparage it to their graves.

In short: TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.

This is a major spice attack, in a good way. And I swear there is ginger in this as well as pepper, and basically an entire spice market. It is very strong and lasts well, so it is not for shy folk and possibly not for the office either, but it is very memorable!Perhaps a little wizarding magic, too, must be the mandrake.

Great strong fragrance, still holds its own today, lots of lovely spice that the gucci’s provide, very nice indeed. Was going to go for the ‘fresh’ version after the reviews, but Im going to go for the original instead after smelling this for the first time in duty free. Try it, it’s a classic, and unlike other YSL products it actually lasts more than 5 minutes and has depth. You need this.
