It starts with cool tangerine and morphs into a warm black currant and musk accord. To my nose the drydown has a soapy character. Not very long lasting on my skin. Worth a try, but I nothing I would buy. 11 May 2008

Effervescent describes this one perfectly -- happy, inoffensive, clean citrus frag. Still, there's nothing stellar here -- just good quality ingredients well blended together. The perfect office or classroom frag. 08 January 2008

Comfort me with fruits warmed by the sun. A happy scent. Good enough but hardly great. 20 May 2006

This one smells very nice. Definitely a marine scent, floral, with a hint of Creed Erolfa's "oily" notes. Reminds me a great deal of "Ocean" by Jalaine (Bagutta Life) which is marketed to women and comes in parfum strength, and the recently released Vintage Yachting Club for men. I would recommend Calypso over Vintage Yachting Company if you want something along these floral/fruity/nautical lines. 21 November 2005

This fragrance can easily go unisex - I am among several women I know who enjoy sharing it with the husband! It's quite distinctive and has much more of a tropical feel than the description of notes would lead one to believe; though mango and papaya are not technically included, they seem to be present in at least minor doses. The description of notes I have also includes tarragon, which is definitely in the mix and, in my opinion, gives the scent its distinctiveness. Tarragon's not a shy note and not easily covered up; it's warm and somewhat like anise, and it tends to pervade the blend of notes in which it's included in a subtle but persistent way. You know it when you smell it, and it's definitely here. Its warmth melds well with that of the grapefruit and black currant and also with the light musk base, which holds the whole blend together. A warm and sunny scent that smells delicious for every summer occasion! 12 September 2005

Man, this scent is awesome...better for summer than fall, but a great discovery nonetheless. Here's a description: Calypso's fragrances are made in the old tradition of French perfumery in Grasse, France. Homme, Calypso's latest, is a new men's fragrance that reflects the store's island flavor with notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon tree, black currant, hyacinth, and violet. It's lasting power is not as strong as I would like, but among my citrus-based scents (including Acqua di Parma, Eau d'Hadrian, Guerlain's Imperiale, etc.) it's not too bad. BTW, it really is almost like being whisked away to the islands - fresh, cool, breezy, effervescent, joyous...a walk along the verdant edge of a tropical forest. 15 December 2002
