The legendary Cuiron has failed to amaze me whatsoever. Sampled this twice to make sure....and while it's not a bad fragrance by any means, it simply doesn't move me at all. It is however heads and shoulders above the swill that goes by the name of Knize 10.

There are many leather oriented scents that I enjoy immensely, but Cuiron smells subtle and fake to my nose. I get a sophisticated chemical vibe here and am glad that this isn't a strong fragrance.

Like I said......not bad but not good either. This is truly a neutral scent IMO.

The scent that inspired Odori's Cuoio imho. In fact, CUIRON is probably how Cuoio would feel like after a couple of tranquilizers and I mean this in a good way for Helmut Lang's rendition is undeniably a calmer, more sure-footed performer. The top notes stay fresh without resorting to the customary tartness of citruses or the zing of pepper and the development remains dry with nary a hint of powder. Nothing truly extraordinary. But when the leather finally emerges it serves yet another reminder why it deserves all the accolades it has garnered since its 2002 release. And if you think 'sensual leather' sounds utterly bogus, wait till your woman smell this on you; she may very well start finding reasons to nuzzle up against you.

GROUP.Woody-Chypre.GENDER.Strictly for Men .CREATIVITY. Just open your closet (or your dad’s) and bring to your nose your old tan leather jacket (yes, the one you have from your college days). What do you smell? Definitely Cuiron. So close to its name, describes the smell of leather in a perfect way. Not many fragrances ever did that so successfully. DAY or NIGHT? Although you can wear it day or night it is not a good choice for a sport/casual outfit. Give it a 3-piece suit and it can do miracles for you. LONGEVITY. Just great. COMMENTS. Orange blossom and bergamot top notes soon give their place to the velvety leather accord (pepper, cinnamon , cedar, oak). Mid notes simply fade to unveil a smoother interpretation of the same accord (woods –sandalwood and cedar- and subtle leather). Except the opening, the rest appears a bit linear to me but that’s fine, anyway, It is obvious that the main concern of the creator from the beginning to the end was to stay close to the name of the creation. Just leather. My only reason to review a discontinued fragrance is the hope of a re-launch. Until then, if you like Cuiron you may try Banana Republic’s Cordovan and Dirty English.

it's not Hype. this scent is revered for a reason. the reason being, it was released as a definitive leather based scent and that’s what it is!. it not leather hidden under heaps of accords, No. it's a direct accord.
The opening accord is pretty surprising, Lemon! beautiful note of citrus. i guess the perfumer wanted to play around, tease a bit into having customers say - ohh wtf! where’s the leather and BAM! it hits you with the finest accord of finished, black leather with hints of suede like powderiness. and there, that’s what it offers. a no nonsense, straight ahead, leather based scent. longevity is pretty decent and the experience of wearing this one is simply, elegant.

Like Scentsibility, I have to award Cuiron a neutral rating, although I completely agree with the majority that it’s an amazing modern leather scent. Usually, leather scents and my skin chemistry (or is it my nose?) tend not to get on very well – as a result, newly discovered leather scents fail to ignite my enthusiasm and curiosity. With Cuiron, this has been a very pleasant exception to the rule (thanks to the addition of the dark plum note) – but only just.

While its longevity is excellent (12 hours easily) not much can be said for its sillage. Within 20-30 minutes, the only way to detect it on your skin is to bring your nose extremely close to the applied area (not always physically possible or convenient but…). Personally, I found Cuiron too quiet, too subtle and slightly boring in its performance – I needed more oomph in its projection (which, let’s face it, is almost non-existent).

At the moment, this discontinued gem is becoming increasingly harder to find (even on ebay). When I bought my bottle, I could have easily purchased another half a dozen bottles from the same source (and believe me, I was briefly tempted). Unfortunately, its almost silent nature left me terribly underwhelmed. After testing it out over several months, I eventually gave up and sold my bottle for a very nice profit.

If it’s ever re-released, I would really like it to be available in a much stronger concentration (ideally EDP form) – maybe only then I would consider re-investigating it. But for now, Cuiron’s simplicity is not only its main strength but also its Achilles heel.

This dries down to a subtle, somewhat "playful" fragrance, but I just can't find anything special about it. I wouldn't call myself a big fan of leather scents, so that may be part of it. I dislike the harsh or animalic ones intensely. The only one I like is Everlast Original 1910, probably because the leather note there is part of a real "group effort." This does have a subdued "zing" to it, but there's just not enough going on, at least the kinds of things I enjoy. You really need to know what you're looking for in a leather fragrance before buying this one, and if you like this one, you might like Nicole Miller for men even more, so try that one too.

Who put citrus in my leather? And more to the point, WHY? Ok, it's unusual.
But buttery and smooth? Try R.E.L. by Creed. Straight up leather with a slight twist? Well, there's Acqua di Cuba, Gomma, V.I.P. etc. Want REALLY unusual leather? SMN's Peau D'Espagna. Only a hint of leather with dates and figs? Go with the (dirty word comng up) common John Varvatos. Won't even get into all the Cuir de Rus--oh, never mind. If citrus in one corner vs leather in the other feels good to your nose, this Bud's for you.

I promise if I hit all the lotto numbers to buy a bottle of Cuir d''Oranger by Miller Harris for every one who has posted here.
It's what Cuiron aspires to be.

Cuiron’s brisk, sharp citrus top notes give little indication that what’s to come is a leather scent. As much as fifteen minutes must elapse before a slightly smoky, birch tar-laden leather accord assembles itself beneath the citrus. Even after it establishes itself firmly, Cuiron’s leather accord is remarkably airy and translucent. This is not the sensuous leather of Chanel’s Cuir de Russie, the bad boy biker’s leather of Oud Cuir d’Arabie, nor the stentorian animalic leather of Knize Ten. In tone and volume it comes closest perhaps to Heeley’s recent Cuir Pleine Fleur, though the actual olfactory structure is quite different.

Cuiron is what I’d call a dry leather, relatively streamlined, and leaning toward clean woods rather than amber, oakmoss, or animalic basenotes like civet or castoreum. It’s also very linear on me, and except for a gradually increasing dustiness in the woods I detect very little change in Cuiron’s profile during the first hour or two of wear. Later on the leather recedes to leave a very spare drydown that’s dominated by cedar and labdanum. The approach is almost minimalist in its simplicity, and the scent is as subtle on the skin as it is lean in its construction. Sillage is minimal and Cuiron clings closely to its wearer.

Cuiron has developed something of a cult about it, and is often touted as the pinnacle of the leather scent genre. I wonder how much of Cuiron’s appeal dwells in its focused presentation? I can think of no other leather scent offhand that is as pure and unadulterated in its interpretation of the leather accord. If you like your leather clean, subtle, and uncomplicated, Cuiron is for you. On the other hand, if like me you prefer some animal funk or confrontational attitude in your leather, you may find Cuiron just a tad too polite.

I don't really understand the hype, but Cuiron is a good fragrance. It's not a great fragrance, in my opinion.

Cuiron could be great if that one segment of the fragrance I really loved were more prominent. Perhaps that could have been achieved by getting rid of those "fresh notes" listed - citrus, as I recall, that was annoying and overshadowed the heart of the fragrance. Something that could amp up the spice and dry out the leather would perhaps make this fragrance great instead of good.

I'm not a huge fan of leather fragrances, but I can appreciate something that is pulled off in a way that makes it wearable. I don't really have any time for something that is a brilliant creation but totally unwearable, so I hope others can relate with that statement when I say it.

Cuiron is wearable, and I did enjoy the times I did wear it. I just felt it could have achieved something much more substantial and significant than it did. An easy "Neutral" for me.

Cuiron is an absolutely horrid synthetic mess of a fragrance that was rightly discontinued before it could contaminate the noses of too many people. I've worn this several times now and my hatred of this fragrance grows with each wearing. There is something sharp and acrid about the top notes that doesn't subside as the fragrance "develops" (i.e. loses the "plum") but only becomes slightly less abrasive. There is something discordant about this fragrance that grates on the nose the way a really bad, out of tune, middle school marching band grates on the ears. What makes matters worse is that Cuiron lasts forever on the skin and projects off the skin well. This just prolongs the horror and makes Cuiron present to the nose at all times when one is wearing it.

Cuiron sets the standard of how NOT to do leather, and this may just be its lasting legacy to the perfume world.

Helmut Lang Cuiron

I do have to admire a scent which has a note list like this; top notes, "fluid" leather; middle notes, "sensual" leather; and base notes, "noble" leather. If that doesn't give you a clue about what this scent is all about then I don't know what will. Created in 2002 and now discontinued, but rumored to be making a return, Cuiron is a benchmark leather scent. While the description of the top notes might be a little grandiose they do capture that this scent goes through three distinct transitions of leather. The "fluid leather" stage is paired with a plum note and that is a good pairing as the sweetness of the plum plays counter to the leather in a quite pleasant way. The "sensual" leather of the heart is the intense leather reminiscent of Knize Ten. This level of leather can come off as having a note similar to petroleum products like gasoline or motor oil. It needs to be kept in check by the perfumer to be successful and it probably will be specific from wearer to wearer how prominent this note comes off on them. For me, it is a comforting note which is part of a deep leather scent and never becomes too much and it smells intense. Into the base and the "noble" leather, this is a softer suede-like leather which reminds me of the transition in Serge Lutens Daim Blond after the early apricot has left and all you are left with is a luscious suede leather. The base of this is a little more intense than the suede in Daim Blond but that is the way it should be. Especially as the transition from the more intense leather in the heart requires more chutzpah to not be overwhelmed. Very late in the development I get hints of sandalwood, which is not listed as a note. As Cuiron tends to last, as a close wearing scent, on me for 12-14 hours I get a lot of opportunity to tease it out and it sure seems like sandalwood is there. For those who want to experience all of the highs and lows that leather can bring to a scent Cuiron is a great experience. One I hope can be brought back into production so that more will be able to take the ride.

The "fresh" notes in the top of this one ruin it for me. There is something in common with Burberry Weekend that is just flat unpleasant. I have tried several times, over several years, to get over this, but every time I break this bottle out, it goes back after 1 or two uses. This may be my most unsatisfactory fragrance purchase of my life, and that is saying a lot.

This is becoming hard to find and may be discontinued soon. It's the plum with the leather notes that make this fragrance outstanding and innovative. For a top note the plum seems to hang around a long time imo. Two from Helmut Lang and then nothing -- I wish they would create some more as they were both excellent in their different ways.

I bought this blind simply because I always wanted to try it and there was a big sale going on....little did I know that it would be discontinued right after. I had been searching for a leather scent like Cuiron for a long time, after sampling many scents which claimed to be leather based I grew weary that my quest would never be fulfilled...little did I know.

The balance between the plum and the leather and suede is amazing. The best way to describe it is if you crushed up some plums and put it in a suede lined, leather bag. The leather in this scent is so deep and rich, it reminds me of the smell you get from brand new leather goods (wallets, belts, bags, shoes etc...). This is real leather, this is rich leather, this is awesome.

Prices have skyrocketed online for this since HL left the company that was producing this, even if it's around the $80-120 range that another reviewer quoted, that puts it on par with most niche frags; this one blows Creed's REL out of the water and makes Knize Ten seem like a faint attempt at leather.

If you happen to cross this in a store selling it at the original price, buy their whole stock!!

Cuiron became my reference leather before i could try the vast field - a handicap i do not mind one bit! The interplay of plum, the leathers and (could it be) musk is something else entirely. Will buy it at whatever price.

I first smelt this when it came out and have to say I hated it then! I thought it was far to old for me and just smelt wrong.

Recently though I was trying another fragrance (can't remember what it was!) and It had a smell of leather to it and i loved that leather not, but not the rest of it!

I was then reminded again of this scent on here and was luckily able to get a decently priced one on ebay (risky but luckily I have a real one)

I think that now that I am beginning to appreciate different fragrances I can see the beauty of this and absolutely love it! I have only wore it twice and have already had loads of complements (Even the 3 year olds that I teach love the smell of it and have commented!)

Some kind of cult classic which does nothing to me, nothing at all. I love the bottle and the notes, but the scent is just utterly boring with no impact whatsoever. Just a soft woody leather with the hint of fruit. Extremely mediocore in everyway. Average lasting power.

But the things are often by the skin of the teeth : Oscar for Men which I find suprisingly similar to Cuiron, is one of my favourites, I`m deeply in love with that. It has same kind of leather note as in Cuiron, but it also has some soft black pepper to make it edgier, as well as the fir balsam and marine like freshness to give it some deeply mysterious charachter. It smells like Cuiron which has been taken to the shore of the lake near by, early in the morning, showing it all the things its hollow soul has been missing.

I am so angry that I missed the boat on this one. I recently got a 1mL sample and it is by far one of the most pleasant fragrances I've ever experienced. Clean and dirty at the same time. The prices for this now are absolutely ridiculous compared to what they were. I guess I'll just have to pay them...because I do like it enough to pay 80 bucks for a bottle. I put it on before going out with a few friends and I've never gotten so many compliments and so much attention from females because of a fragrance. It just oozes confidence. Sure its a bit modern but I think if it hadn't been discontinued it would eventually be a timeless classic. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to try to get this rather comely creature to quit hugging the pillow I slept on last night and get something to eat...

There's not much to add by way of the glowing reviews on which I bought Curion blind. I may be the last lucky person to find this at suggested retail cost, because the site I bought it from is now sold out.

Knowing what I know now, I would definitely pay the $80-$120 asking price to keep an extra bottle on hand. I have a feeling Curion, which is already a cult classic, will be impossible to find for less than hundreds of dollars within a couple years.

An unusual, fresh leather scent, with different takes on leather combined into a smooth progression from fresh, through spicy, to woody-ambery notes with a hint of tobacco. The levels are knit together by a chypré theme with bergamot in the top and an amber-leather labdanum taking the place of oakmoss in the base. The impression is one of seamlessness and overall elegance. It cries out for cool or cold weather. It clings to one like a second skin, but is not a skin scent; i. e., it has a decent projection and sillage. Enveloping, warm, plush, comforting.

Echo the leather comments of other reviewers. Smells like the bottle looks: dark, musky, interesting without being too clever. Not too heavy, however. Similar to Kiehl's Musk, in packaging and fragrance. Used to be cheap on certain websites. Now through-the-roof costly.

Let me first say that this is not your father's leather scent. Nor is it your mother's. And it's not "English" or "Spanish". Cuiron exists without distinction or comparison. It can only be categorized as the best leather ever created, up there with the finest scents ever known to man. Happiness would be a window-less, poorly ventilated room with only a bottle of Cuiron to keep you company.

The scent opens with a dark plum and pepper that is neither fruity or sharp. Gradually, the leather starts to grab hold, like a leather glove on a cold day. Leather here is manly yet never overpowering. More of a new leather jacket smell than a worn one. But in reality, that jacket never smelled this good. Musk slowly creeps into the picture to finish off this potion. When it ends, don't be surprised to find yourself reaching for another spritz. This stuff is addictive. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Cuiron. My favorite leather. I admit that I have rather limited experience with the category, but still. Wow!

Absolutely nothing smells remotely like it, and very few people wear it. In most cases this means that a fragrance is abstract and difficult to relate to. Not so with Cuiron. It's warm and inviting, yet clean and crisp. It's constantly there, but never overbearing. People love it on me. It's wearable in every season. I see this as the very definition of a great signature scent.

The top is strong and can sting the nostils somewhat, but the plum (which is hard to actually ideantify as plum, but there is definitely a fresh note there) is reassuring and keeps things grounded. After that, you're left with a dry, subdued, manly leather aroma that refreshes, surprises, and lends confidence in equal parts. It's a bit linear after the first hour, but I wouldn't want it to change anyway.

10/10, my favorite fragrance at the moment.

If this were only stronger and lasted longer, it just might be one of the greatest designer scents ever. I absolutely love it from the start; warm, inviting, leathery. It's got distinction, backbone, class, and yet doesn't ever go too far and become outlandish. My only issue with it is that I could easily go through a bottle in a few months, as it just disappears on me in almost no time. My biggest hope is that the new owners of the Helmut Lang brand will release this one again in an EDT or EDP concentration.

A Porsche body on a Pinto chassis. Oh it smells great all right, and longevity is fantastic, but where's the SILLAGE? A liberal application (4-5 spritzes) gets me 2 hours of very good sillage maximum. After 3 hours this one is almost nothing. DW said it smelled "delicious" on me, so I'm keeping my sample for intimate times. I may even buy a decant when it's gone, but I can't justify a full bottle purchase. I'd highly recommend it as a date scent though - light, masculine and inoffensive. If you only need a few hours this is a great one.

If this fragrance were a color it would be a transluscent white; clean, luminous and modern. It is a really nice balance of clear sparkling notes and softer almost floral notes. The leather, I'm not getting - in an obvious way at any rate. The longevity is quite good. This is a nice uplifting, positive fragrance.
This could pair well with more casual clothing for a night out. It could also dress up for formal occaisions, since it is distinct and present but not intrusive. Seems to be a fragrance for all seasons.

If it is leather that you want, Cuiron delivers in a big way. A bit dryer then I would like but not bad and the Plum note helps. I think it is good enough to recommend, especially for someone really into leather but I still prefer Creeds Royal English Leather.

I have been wearing Cuiron quite a bit lately. I have to say, I think some of these reviews would mislead someone trying to understand this fragrance. Smooth?!? Cuiron strikes me as anything but smooth. I can see where Mario and Supermarky are coming from but I love the stuff. I agree - it's sharp, incredibly sharp. But I think it is leather - well the smell of the chemicals that make cow hide into leather anyway - sort of like the smell you get when you walk into a leather goods store, with all that new, unworn, unseasoned leather. I don't know about citrus, maybe it's part of the sharpness, but there is a sweet plum note in here. In some ways, this could be seen as a Cuir Mauresque Light. It's the same sharp leather with sweet fruity notes, only here there are no spices to complicate things, and this is much thinner, not as round. As it dries down it softens a bit, never really getting powdery soft though, and still retaining its crispness and bite. I think it smells youthful and energetic...and a little left-of-center. I find myself wearing this to the office a good bit - the EDC concentration makes it light enough to do so. Surprisingly, it lasts all day on me, especially if I spray under my shirt.

I'm sorry but after wearing it a few times to me this stuff is just vile. So harsh. Not the smell of a leather jacket, but that tanning acid extract or something. I can detect "leather" but only inside an acrid shell that singes my sinuses and smelling it I immediately feel uncomfortable like I'm wearing a rubber suit in the middle of august. Also, as with Demeter leather I distincly get the smell of gasoline. A wonderful smell in the doses you get in brief visits to the gas station or in refueling the lawnmower, but it is not cologne material.

Cuiron makes comme's tar, skai and garage seem cosy by comparison.

Maybe MAYBE it'd make more sense in the winter? but I think it would only really make sense after the texas chainsaw crew is done with you.

I had written in a review for Creed's Royal English Leather that it and Tabac Blond were, to me, the two definitive renderings of leather in perfumery; I'm compelled to add a third: Cuiron.
Minimalist, unfussy, elegant, sober, and solid,
this scent is not about Sillage or development.
It is just leather shorn, with the aid of a dash of musk and the barest hint of "plum", of roughness.
Make no mistake though, it is a long lasting scent of both depth and style.
Again, dab only a small quantity, not more, onto your pulse points. After a while, neither you nor anyone else will overtly notice it, except, and this is Cuiron's charm, for an almost subliminal and everpresent awareness of cleanliness, comfort and warmth.
Superb.

Not a very big fan of leather fragrances to begin with, but on the rare occasions that I might gravitate to one.. Cuiron would definately be my choice. It lacks the harshness of other leather based frags I have tried, ie Bel Ami... a soft and smooth take on this "type" of scent. The sweetness of the plum helps keep the brash nature of the leather under check.. and helps give it a depth and character that is quite unique among these types. Quite sexy and sensual. Good sillage and longevity. A must have for leather fans.

A very sensual leather fragrance, though there's much going on besides the leather. This is like a toned down version of CDG 2 Man without the smoke and harshness. The Cuiron has a sweet character to it, but not in a sense of powdery or candy-like sweet. It is much more like a clean softness. It's too bad this scent is being discontinued as i've heard. It is a must have for leather lovers, and arguably the best leather fragrance ever made.

This is smooth. And I couldn't understand why my wife likes cuiron but its growing on me and its different than all my other frags that I own right now. Though I have to apply more of cuiron to get it to stay on me. Members here opened my eyes to a great scent and thank you. My wife is a very hard test to pass and cuiron is what she likes and that says a lot. As of now cuiron is my flagship or a star on my roster and I'm going to build around this star, dzing, geir, and cherigui are soon to be added to the roster

Great leather fragrance—a sharp citrus combined with a masculine “fluid” leather provides a very strong opening. When joined by plum, wood, “sensual” leather, and suede, the sharpness lessens and the smoothness intensifies. The base of “noble” leather and musk is rich and subtle: This is the best part of the progression—discreet, smooth, and wonderful. All this leather and still Cuiron stays suave and civilized.

A leather scent that isn't a slap in the face like the brutish, animalic likes of Fendi Uomo. It depends on what "animal" you'd like to be for the day. Cuiron is more synthetic aldehydic in the beginning, then develops to a sweet, smooth lickable (oh no, here we go limbic system kicking in), dream of seduction.

I was never keen on leather frags until this scent. It introduced my nose to a different aspect of leather. It's sweet and reminds me of "Jack & Coke" off the top. I wouldn't describe it as being dry at all. In fact I think it is rather wet and it dries down to a soft, comforting leather that isn't overly masculine. It's a staple in my autumn wardrobe.

Excellent and unique. I don't know about the "plum", but I like it better than any of the "old school" leather fragrances that I've tried. Lasts a very long time. Best for cool-to-cold weather. I've still to try it out while wearing a leather jacket... it should go great.

I wanna start with saying that the Cuiron flacon together with the Kiehl's Musk one are the finest ones in the fragrance world according to my humble taste. The no nonsense clean, apothecary style bottles are what juice should be contained in - always - old school greatness. It doesn't hurt that the fragrance itself is excellent also. A modern take on the classic leathers. This time again with the usual orange/neroli opening but also some semi-sweet plum giving it an almost raisinlike dimension clearly setting it apart. The juice doesn't evolve so much, stays pretty linear and is very heavy on the lovely hide-fumes. I don't think this is uni-sex in the same way as Cuir de Russie or Peau d'Espagne, Cuiron is a MANs fragrance, and a great one at that.

I had high hopes for Cuiron. I was disappointed when I finally got it. It’s a very dry, slightly spicy leathery fragrance. As most people can probably tell, dry leather isn’t really my forte. Dry fragrances in general that have a spicy or herbal touch bother me greatly. This was pretty short lived, also. It lasted 3-4 hours on my skin. I just found Cuiron to be a rather unpleasant experience.

Cuiron by Helmut Lang is so wonderful. I adore it-- especially this time of year as fall is rolling around. I can't for the life of me, recall what a plum smells like, so is certainly is possible that it's in there. However, I do get an initial freshness to the fragrance. It's at first a bit sweet and sythetic flowery to me. I really love suede in my closet, in my car, in my boat (bad idea, by the way),-- in general, and in Cuiron. Love it! It smells sexy, manly, modern, and is always refined and subtle. I think fans of the original DKMen or Micheal Kors for men should try Helmut Lang Cuiron.

Like his clothing, this fragrance uses a minimalist approach. There is not a lot of development from beginning to end. It is a three act play that never gets far from the opening. I imagine starting off with a vat of clean musk oil. Placed inside this vessel is the softest piece of suede imaginable. Add dashes of plum and white pepper, then let it marinate for about a month. When you remove the suede and squeeze the oil from it, Cuiron is what emerges. The supple leathery notes don't change much and as the wearer, this is a good thing. Like your best decades old bomber jacket, this one does nothing but offer comfort and consistently enduring charm.

My overall impression of it might be expressed as ìdualityî. In my opinion the scent is simultaneously soft and sharp, formal and casual, cold and warm. Unfortunately, in this case I wouldnít say about ìmultipurpose scentî but rather describe it as ìunder-weighed oneî. It seems to me the scentís father had a vague notion on what should it be, or some irrelevant influence occurred while creating.
Iím not so familiar with notes but I see a little way for detecting leather in it. Be that as it may, the scent touched me and Iíll surely wear it more than once.

when I first bought this, I felt it was rather sharp and had an unpleasant sourness to it, so I put it away and planned to sell it. A few months later, I got it out on a whim and put some on and was intrigued, and after repeated applications came to really enjoy it. So it was certainly an acquired taste - t it is a very rich and complex scent, very masculine, at once sharp and smooth. It complements the other Helmut Lang scents very well, which are both much smoother. As with the other Lang scents, it has a very 'natural' sense to it, in that it really works well with the body's natural odor, rather than covering it up.

This is a complicated fragrance . . . much more refined than I expected it to be. I smell a mandarin topnote, but mixed with spices, pepper and tobacco. I agree that that the leather may not be too forward, but overall this fragrance is unusual and surrounding. Wonderful in cool weather . . . I'd choose another scent, for when it's hot.

I have to agree with G. Stephen. Where's the leather? My first impression was baby powder. Mush sweeter that I was expecting. Now after about 2.5 hrs, I can convince myself of some leather notes, but it is still too sweet. Not one for my shelf.

Cuiron has all the makings of a contemporary classic. Great, unfussy packaging. A fragrance that is masculine but not so much that it makes you want to go and live in the woods. An artful, enigmatic structure that will draw you back again and again to try to figure out its secrets. The wife likes it as well. What more could you ask for?

Love at first sniff, and all other subsequent sniffs too! Leather and clean musk, clean musk and leather. Sometimes the simpler things in life are better. Always present, but never intrusive, it stays close to the skin but endures.
The bottle could use a different color, medicine bottle orange/brown doesn't do it for me at all, though the shape of the 3.3 oz. bottle is compact and stable. I hope the color protects the juice from light, as that color is used for medicines and beer for that purpose. Mine lives in it's box, which I do like the basic black.
Quite a versatile utility scent, doing equally well for formal or casual. My fragrance of the year for sure!

I couldn't resist the leather notes - it's the kind of scent that one treats one's self to...like a personal space enhancer. Surprises me how much I like the multiple leather notes of this scent; I normally don't go for these types of scents but Helmut Lang sold me. What a sensual scent! Awesome...

Cuiron is an attempt to reinvent leather with a modern twist, without losing its classic masculinity. The amber flask is modeled after an antique Viennese apothecary bottle!

First off, I have only found one bottle of the stuff, it is hard to find here, and the one bottle i did find was $122.00, this is way too much to pay, I am hoping that as it becomes more available here, the price wil go down. From what I have read, it seems to be a great product.

I do like it a lot...its not a strong harsh leather scent nor is it a muted leather scent.
I does have a clean musk note lurking back there against the leather.
