Read the pyramid above and then take this in. Fragrantica lists Perry Man's notes as:

Top notes are lime, apple, neroli and bergamot; middle notes are teak wood, patchouli and rose; base notes are labdanum, musk and vanilla.

Pretty confusing, especially considering I can't tell which one's closer. It's decent juice, though. The bright opening is fresh green citrus and a striking fennel note that makes this smell like a copy of Yohji Homme minus the rum. Sadly it also copies YH's meek performance. After the very enjoyable top wears away I get a semi-sweet patchouli and rose combo which makes me think of a watered down Ungaro I on a sunny day. Perry Man, what are you?

Smells a whole lot like Azzaro's Pure Lavender. I mean almost identical. Too synthetic and cheap though for me.

Rather synthetic citrus, with some spiciness, woods and musk. Normally I would give something like this a neutral rating as being an unremarkable modern scent, but the citrus presentation is inferior to most and annoying.

Perry Ellis' line of fragrances has a knack for smelling like other, already well-established fragrances... but making them a little different that they're their own entity. i.e. 360 Red = Acqua di Gio, 360 White = Le Male, Perry m = Allure Homme...

Perry Man, I think, smells a little like Hugo (the greyish juice in the flash style bottle). It's a light, citrus musk that smells clean and stays close to the skin. Inoffensive and perfect for anyone who needs a fragrance (but not for those that don't like musk).

I think the bottle gives it away...this was intended to be stronger. It smells good...frsh citrusy opening that stays fresh albeit spicy (thanks to the nutmeg) and then it flips to a nice powdery woody drydown...if you can smell it.
I think Perry Ellis M that came out 2 years later is what P Ellis had in mind for Perry Man, but along the way something went wrong. The colors on the bottle are also an indication...Perry Man is a lighter brownish orange, Perry M is a darker, stouter color, as is the fragrance compared to Perry Man.
This is not a bad scent although it is a flaw and a flop. It is great for short use...maybe for a walk in the evening after a nice cool shower.

Citrusy, reminds me of D&G pour homme, just better and more sophisticated. Good for summer, but a bit generic.
