The topnotes present bergamot, but light, fresh and soft, spiced by cardamom – piquant, dry and aromatic, this accord is almost salty. Watermelon underscores this with rounded, lightly sweet, melon-freshness with the faintest spice (other than the cardamom) detectable after a couple of minutes, faint notes of black pepper warm the cardamom further. It's not listed, but I get a pear note, perhaps its the citrus/melon/cardamom combo fooling me. Pleasant combination between the soft bergamot, clean, wistful watermelon and warming, cardamom-dominated spice. The effect is gently bracing, if that makes sense – masculine but soothing, delicately invigorating. It gives a somewhat creamy impression and as it softens into the heart there is a very faithful pipe tobacco which announces iself briefly then dissapears into the very light suede of the heart. The base is where I start to dislike this fragrance, it has the sweetened metallic-vanillic-sandalwood, synthetic and soft, that 212 has – but unlike 212, here it doesn't quite 'relax' on my skin for a few hours, until after about 6 hours all that is left is the musk and sandalwood, whereupon I love it. Like-Like-Not sure-Love. Hence the neutral rating. 16 January 2009

A well-done, soulless, faceless calone (melon) aquatic, more suitable for guys aging 20-30. It's a tad sweet, the cinnamon has only a supporting role and the base is a soft vetiver/light wood/musk. Very inoffensive, I'd say casual scent. Unremarkable. 14 December 2008

I was so very excited to try this cologne, at this point good reviews and great notes. I tried it and everything was going great, a wonder scent, with all intentions of leaving the store with it in my hands, all the way until the five minute mark, after it settled down an eerie scent of play doh' emerged from the my arm. I like colognes that take me down memory lane, but I don’t want to go so far back as to my days at the preschool. This was a big letdown, but a great opportunity to save money. Thanks to perfumania, I now have an extra $35 to my name. 13 November 2008

I do agree there are some similarities with Creed's Millesime Imperial, it should also be pointed out that Herrera, just like Creed has a metallic house-note in many of their juices. I also definitely smell the cola-thing that some have metioned. Unfortunately there is also a significant amount of red pepper in the mix, that spoils the overall impression for me, making it somewhat similar to boring stuff like Gant Soho or Tommy Hilfiger Freedom. 15 March 2006

I get amber cola. Rich, longlasting and masculine, Chic is also quite sweet though tempered by woodsy notes in the drydwon. Overall a winner, but just not for me. 14 January 2006

Tried to like this one. It's not all that bad, but it is a bit strong for a citrus scent. It has a mysterious quality to it overall that has one scratching the head trying to figure this one out. Acquired taste, methinx. ;-) 06 October 2005

Ummm... a Chanel's Allure soft clon. A sweet-fruity scent with a cinnamon note, very addictive indeed. But the scent it's flat and doesn't last too much I think. 04 August 2005
