This starts out almost like a woman's perfume at first, but an immediate drydown I can smell a cream and the green fern and luckily this finally settles down to a very subtle and close scent that i don't mind wearing. But the initial spray will clear some sinuses - smells like an Avon or Estee Lauder perfume at first spray to me at first though sorta kills it for me.

However, fresh out of the shower, spray on, then dry off, relax, take your time THEN put on a t-shirt; this is perfect for warm, dry weather. Humidity will alter it's smell - at least on my skin - and will stay way too perfume-y.

Perhaps this is Lancome's finest modern men's scent. Don't be fooled by the Aqua title into thinking this is a marine/aquatic scent. It is not. It does smell like a fougere though it is not. More on that later. What it is an ode to green peppers, grass, refined wood and touch of spice. A ripe, freshly cut green pepper dominants the opening. Anybody who's sliced open a pepper will know the aroma. There's a touch of grass(vetiver) which combined with the green pepper produces a "fern" like smell to my nose. But this is no fougere. Perhaps the perfumers having a bit of fun with "fern" but wearing this does pep up one's spirits. The base comes fairly quickly which is dominated by gaiacwood & cedar. The gaiacwood here is rich yet never too strong. The woody notes blend wonderfully with the fresh green notes to make this close to a masterpiece. Perfect for summer/spring days in the sun. I tend to overspray on this one as it's a bit weak on my skin, but otherwise, I wholeheartedly recommend this scent to those who want a fresh, summery scent without the usual cliches and baggage of most men's fragrances.

Kinda foody, in a vegetable kinda way. Like after the auto misters at the supermarket had sprayed all the lettuce, turnips celery and various other things. Something with aqua in the name without the color blue being invoked. Color me surprised and a fan of this scent.

L'Aquatonic is aptly named, because after it opens up with a refreshing burst of a citric moss accord, which is by far its most dominating note, it definitely takes a watery turn. When these middle "water" notes take over and I smell nothing after a couple of hours. I do sense a slight vetiver note in the drydown but it is so feint, it could be leftover from my last cologne. Still that opening mossy note is perfect for a sunny summer morning and since it comes only in the 120mL bottle, you can afford to over- or re-apply at your leisure over the course of the day.

I really like this fragrance, and if it wasn't for its subpar longevity, I would wear it more often, especially now in the summer. I have made a conscious attempt to alternate its use with my other favorite fresh/summer fragrance Mugler Cologne, depending on whether I want to be synthetically fresh for a long time via Mugler, or a few hours of naturally fresh by means of Lancome.

I would rate it neutral overall, but a thumbs up as far as summer fragrances go.

Try it, you'll be freshly surprised.
Apply in the morning and your mood will lift immediately, a sense of natural emotion will stay with you for quite some time, an essential summer fragrance with good longevity and versatility.

This in essence beautiful fragrance works a bit strange on my skin.
Athough it is marketed as a fresh summer scent, at first it doesn't appear that way.
It isn't as light and fresh as say a Mugler's Cologne.
On mild spring days, without much sun and on colder days it wears pretty heavy and 'perfumy' on my skin, not exactly masculine.
Very sweet and thick smelling, as if I am wearing a green gourmand.

But when it's hot outside something strange happens, the sweat and warmth of my body seems to neutralize the sweetness and makes room for the vetiver and wood note.
The scent becomes much lighter and fresher instead of becoming thicker - what usually happens to overly sweet and heavy evening edts.

The juice is pretty concentrated, on my skin two spritzs are more than enough to last around 10 hours, I am not kidding.

I recommend this EDT, but I'd strongly advise you to not buy it blind, there's a reasonable chance you may find the scent to sweet and perfumy.
But do me a favour, IF you try this EDT, do it on a warm day, you'll be surprised how good it smells.

I do like it but I'm thrown off a little bit.

At first, it reminds me of Jovan Ginseng NRG which for me, is not a good thing. I notice it every time I put it on and that's unfortunate.

But with the drydown it settles down to smell a bit more green and yes, 'creamy.' Unfortunately, the scent is so subtle that my lasting impression is always Jovan Ginseng NRG, even after the drydown. If you like Jovan Ginseng, I think you would like this.

This scent will get me through spring and summer, but I don't know that I'll buy it again. I was searching for a fresh-cut grass scent and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

Initially thought it had some resemblance to Miracle but after wearing it several times it has earned its stripes as an individual indeed. Initial offering of very green fern notes which relax the body and mind if you want then to. Then a mellowing into almost sweet-but not enough- mids of other greens (coriander, bergamot, rhubarb, cedar) and then a subtle and fairly long lasting ending of guaiacwood, vetiver and rosewood which are a bit sweeter. All this and never assuming, in your face or wanting to make a loud statement. Excellent alternative to aqua types and definitely for daywear. All round excellent scent from Lancome.

Nice green scent: it should be though a little sweeter, but for summer it is excellent. Green fragrances are very nice in general, especially if they depart from the citrus-aquatic notes by containing sweet subtle sensual ingrediens: gaiacwood, rosewood, tonka.

A cottage by a river stream, somewhere in the planes of Punjab..the land of five rivers. Late spring/early summer...leave the window open at night and the first smell of the fertile land awakening to the warmth of the sun will give you a smell somewhat similar to this.
That said, I am not entirely sure a man should smell like this. It does let your imagination run wild though.

This scent bears almost no resemblance to the original miracle homme, in fact it just might be one or two notes on the drydown that may appear similar but in general, this is just in another category altogether. This scent is all about the greens. Green trees, green leaves, green pepper, green everything you can imagine, wich, with the blast of watery notes, gives the top a very fresh opening, that rapidly changes to the middle to become more of a wet grass-like fragrance with some kick in the middle to make it spicier. As I said before there are some very few similarities on the drydown on the original miracle homme and this one and that’s just fine, because the original is a very safe, everyday scent that is very underrated and that makes it a bit more sensual than other “fresh” scents of today. This is no common green-citrus-aqua scent and the logevity is better than a lot of other “green” scents like, say mugler’s cologne or dali’s agua verde or others. When I first saw it I thought it was going to be a re-packing of Ô pour Homme by lancôme, but it’s a different scent and I was dissapointed because Ô PH was my favorite “green” scent of all time. Bring It Back Please!!

I have not come across many seriously fougère, i.e. really intent on capturing fern, scents yet. I think of L'Aquatonic as an updated version of British classics such as Penhaligon's English Fern which has a closely related green note which would probably also apppear too overwhelmingly heavy/sweet to those choking on the "dandelions." Perhaps the limited resonance to this style results from it being neither sufficiently aquatic-ozonic mainstream nor provocatively avantgarde (L'Artisan recreating the smell of Serge Lutens' armpit after wrestling Fréderic Malle or something along that line). I must admit I enjoy this unpretentiously unusual green creaminess, as StevenB put it. Evidently not one to be bought blind, though.

So nice and calming, like playing in a field of dandelions! Then rip out every dandelion in the field and stick it up your nose. That is a lot like the smell of this fragrance.

When I tried L'Aquatonic at the store I initially like it, so I sprayed it all over myself. It started to get to me, enough that I started to feel ill. There is something in it that I find cloying and overwhelming. I imagine though, that most will enjoy it. It is green yet with a creamy stream running through it. It is also rich and long lasting.
