I've sampled this fragrance several times and recently purchased it. I was once a fan of Angel but no longer enjoy it on my skip, it's almost as if it sours on me in the Florida heat. So New York reminds me a lot of Angel but without a certain harshness; it's sweet and complicated in a sexy way. 15 March 2009

I like this quite a bit... starts out a coffee gourmand that dries to a rich, velvety floral. I've bought a bottle for my girlfriend and might be sneaking some sprays sometimes. It's super long lasting as well, as are all the Bonds. 06 February 2009

Although I love this fragrance it gives me a terrible headache. I've tried it three times and was all set to order it but alas here comes that dizzy-headachey feeling. Could it be a patchouli thing? I HATE patchouli and it makes me physically ill. So far I've tried Little Italy, my favorite, So New York, and Nuit de Noho. Stay tuned 03 February 2009

smells like H.M. by Mori, Period. hate these kinda candy like gourmands...if someone doesnt like these kinda scent but would like something in similar lines, then pls try Montales - Chypre Vanille (pls note: its not a gourmand typre, but very floral). 13 September 2008

“So New York” is a sweetish citrus fragrance that is stolid and boring. It has touches of amber and musk that are not well blended and seem to be mashed together with the bergamot notes in a clumsy way. In the spirit of broader testing, I gave my sample of “So New York” to a male colleague to try (he loves "Chez Bond", by the way) and he did not like it at all. In fact, he politely went to scrub it off his wrist shortly afterwards. There are much, much better well-crafted citrus fragrances out there than “So New York”, notably: Annick Goutal's "Eau d'Hadrien", Bulgari's "Extreme", Frederic Malle's "Bigarade Concentree" or Chanel's "Eau de Cologne". 23 April 2008

I like Bergamot, and this one certainly starts on such a good note. The woods overtake the sweeter notes, which is a good thing! The espresso is in the background and blends well with the rest of the scent. 25 January 2007
