The Hugo Boss fragrance I recently tested, Boss Bottled, was a pretty good one. I was hoping that that one might signify a new direction—a direction away from Boss’s typical mediocre and insipid. No such luck, the insipids are back again in full force. Hugo Energise is the same old synthetic, headache inducing stuff Boss has been making for years. From the first sniff, the message is clear: the opening notes are some sort of conglomerate citrus / herb accord done with no artistry, providing no distinction of individual notes, and having lots of that Hugo Boss “ambiance”—that’s what I call that mouthful of synthetic—metallic leftovers that collect from a Boss sniffing session. There is nothing clever, nothing original, certainly nothing organic, nothing new here—same old same old Hugo Boss.

Boringise!

Very light on my skin. Tried it as a comparison to Hugo and Energise just failed to inspire.

I found the scent pleasant, just not enough notes. Nor did it have the dimension of the original.

In retrospect, I should have sprayed 3x more than once so I could have something to say about the frag. Bad sillage and stength. Pass.

This stuff gives me a head ache and makes me feel anxious when I wear it, and it smells really generic. Good think I only have a sample bottle.

I don't hate this. I like it better than hugo, the original version, which I really hate. Energize is a little bland and it doesn't last on me. this is not for me.

It's not terrible. I ordered this online without first smelling it because the notes seemed like something I would like. Turned out to be WAY to citrus-y. Dries down to something slightly more palatable, but certainly nothing spectacular.

actually, this is short review of in motion edition. top notes; cardamon, pineapple leaf, frozen lemon, wild mint. heart notes: jasmine, nutmeg, clary sage. base notes; teakwood, sandalwood, vanilla bourbon. fresh, aqutic, spicy fragrance, very light. start with minty smell (reminds me on biotherm aquafitness) and continuos with floral (jasmin). base notes smells like light version of l`eau d`issey. generally in motion edition is nothing new and nothing special.
