Fruity and light, essence of exotic fruits. The fragrance basenotes release different scents according to the designers blurb.
Been a fan of Hugo Energise ever since it was released in 2005.

Actually low in energy, this is a very light fragrance and stays close to the skin. I found that it dries down quickly to a long-lasting sandalwood type note. While not very engaging, you will smell nice. Great for just anything low-key like hanging out or watching a movie or something along those lines.

Not as vile as the ultra-vile Hugo, but nothing spectacular either. And another thing i don't get : why on earth is mr. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers this secnt's official image, as the decadently stylish actor would be hard to imagine wearing such a scent, when he's in fact made for classics of dandyfied British masterpices by Creed or Penhaligon. Mismatched image, completely synthtetic and post-postmodern.

I'm not a big fan of Boss' Fragrances, but this one really surprised me. Truly refreshing, light but not fainting, particularly long lasting on my skin. Great combination of smells that seemed fresh and fruity (slightly sweet). Specially good for casual wearing!

The Hugo Boss fragrance I recently tested, Boss Bottled, was a pretty good one. I was hoping that that one might signify a new direction—a direction away from Boss’s typical mediocre and insipid. No such luck, the insipids are back again in full force. Hugo Energise is the same old synthetic, headache inducing stuff Boss has been making for years. From the first sniff, the message is clear: the opening notes are some sort of conglomerate citrus / herb accord done with no artistry, providing no distinction of individual notes, and having lots of that Hugo Boss “ambiance”—that’s what I call that mouthful of synthetic—metallic leftovers that collect from a Boss sniffing session. There is nothing clever, nothing original, certainly nothing organic, nothing new here—same old same old Hugo Boss.

Boringise!

Very light on my skin. Tried it as a comparison to Hugo and Energise just failed to inspire.

I found the scent pleasant, just not enough notes. Nor did it have the dimension of the original.

In retrospect, I should have sprayed 3x more than once so I could have something to say about the frag. Bad sillage and stength. Pass.

Is reminiscent of many other frag's releasd last year. I am thinking of Black XS and Paul Smith London but I'm sure someone will disabuse of this opinion!
Average longetivity, reasonable sillage. A compact fragrance. Some will love it. Give it a go!

DH (and he really is a dear husband) has begun wearing scent for the first time now at age 57. Today he put on something I didn't recognize--a challenge for me to parse out its elements. First I noticed an attractive sweetness. When I smelled the frag up close, I thought I detected cardamom and sandalwood, plus some spice that produced a warmth. I never would have pegged cocoa as a note. Overall, pleasant enough to use up the sample, but nothing more.

I have to say when you compare this one to the Hugo in the canteen bottle this one is better. Its very unique fruity floral with a deep woody base. I find that women really like this one and it is not a light scent. This one produces a lot of sillage and is very very long lasting.

This stuff gives me a head ache and makes me feel anxious when I wear it, and it smells really generic. Good think I only have a sample bottle.

I don't hate this. I like it better than hugo, the original version, which I really hate. Energize is a little bland and it doesn't last on me. this is not for me.

To be honest, I think the reviews below are relating to BiM Blue edition cause this scent wasnt released until Aug 2005! I LOVE this scent, has quite a few similarities to Hugo but slighty softer and fruitier. Sexy as hell! The dry down is like kumquat with knuckle dusters! YUMSTERS!

It's not terrible. I ordered this online without first smelling it because the notes seemed like something I would like. Turned out to be WAY to citrus-y. Dries down to something slightly more palatable, but certainly nothing spectacular.

actually, this is short review of in motion edition. top notes; cardamon, pineapple leaf, frozen lemon, wild mint. heart notes: jasmine, nutmeg, clary sage. base notes; teakwood, sandalwood, vanilla bourbon. fresh, aqutic, spicy fragrance, very light. start with minty smell (reminds me on biotherm aquafitness) and continuos with floral (jasmin). base notes smells like light version of l`eau d`issey. generally in motion edition is nothing new and nothing special.
