Greener than I expected, but a little weak. The citrus and greens are nicely done, but are lacking a 'natural majority' Also lacking a cohesive base, and the base is does have is weak and unexceptional for the price. Nice Bottle. 14 December 2008

This has a gorgeous citrus-neroli opening. Verbena is quite evident too, with its distinctive green-citrus character. So far, it is crisp, fresh, very enjoyable… just a beautiful scent. When these beautiful notes burn off, there is a grassy vetiver chord, along with some synthetic notes which are a bit metallic. Also there is an animalic musk note that sometimes is intriguing, sometimes a bit irritating. 08 October 2008

I smell the tangy, bitter grapefruit and mandarin opening with grassy undertones.....the fragrance doesnt develop much sticking to its fresh tangy roots yet becoming sweeter as it progresses.......nicely done summer fragrance but nothing to write home about. 19 August 2008

Nothing out of the ordinary. I found myself spraying it on me a few times throughout the day because it disappeared completely. The moment had already passed before I could get what the fragrance was about. Very fleeting. Oddly sweet and fruity yet smooth like some kind of drink and kind of confuses me. 24 June 2008

Eau de New York is very nice scent — it has quality accords and is excellently structured as are all Bond No. 9 fragrances. The very well done grapefruit / citrus / Petitgrain opening is clean and bright and quite long lasting. The citrus top stretches itself by including in the middle notes some clean and bright neroli and verbena, which are, in turn, supported by a very clear, non-heady white floral accord. The base is an excellent lightwoods / oakmoss creation which is artfully proportioned to the top levels of the fragrance. There’s no doubt that what EdNY offers is quality in an attractive smelling fragrance. But this fragrance is not very much different from many other very good citrus scents – and those others sell at a small percentage of what EdNY costs. This is a fragrance which carries a premium price, but there’s nothing superbly superior here, nothing innovative or incredibly unique. But it’s a very nice scent ... 08 April 2008

Quality, but a bit boring and too typical. It starts off quite floral - the "blossom" in the orange blossom is apparent here. Dries down nicely, the floral-ness of the florals somewhat softens, the scent rounds off a bit more and what you are left with is a crisp, greenish, floral, citrus scent. I'd say unisex, but leaning feminine in my opinion. Decent longevity, but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, it's nice enough but nothing that would part me from my hundred or so dollars. 30 January 2007

I'm starting to realize that vetiver just isn't my note! Especially when it's mixed with a green base. I like the citrus notes in Eau de New York, but the veviter just totally overtakes them on my skin. Not one, I really care for on me. I added one lippie to my rating for unbelievable lasting power & sillage. This would smell better on a man in my opinion. Tho, I don't think it would be sexy on a man. Better suited for my grandpa or dad. 04 April 2006
