An awesome frag which I'd like to keep in rotation. I won't try to describe the scent besides that it's smoky/spicy/sweet. Beautifully balanced, easy to wear, with excellent sillage and longevity. Truly a masterpiece. Am 100% sure to buy again as soon as possible and will be very sad if they stop making it.

Effervescent (sparkling, vibrant, exhilarating, and fleeting) citrus. Somehow it captures the richness of the oil from citrus zest along with the clarity and acidic freshness of the first fruit squeeze. It's almost like extra virgin orange oil with limes and an herbal dry down. Not terribly long lasting, but long enough. It's extremely bright and hypernatural.

It would be so wonderful if the orange lasted longer. Just a minute longer and you are in a perfume heaven! Purgatory is good too...

The top note is kind of a fusion of lime+orange or very tangy orange(synthetic but quality stuff) and it's incredible as it mingles with the middle notes. Thanks to that the first ten minutes are the best of what this hermes has to offer. Remainder is very pleasant and clean smelling papaya note with a very tiny hint of orange. The middle notes are not as enjoyable as the first 10 minutes but dominate the fragrance at all times. More than 2 sprays of this stuff can turn heads but not in a good way. 2 sprays last for 6-7hrs.

Beautiful scent -- end of. I love this proportionately to the dislike I have for the really horribly synthetic Jardin fragrances by Hermes. A more wonderful rendition of a citrus chypre is just not out there. Sillage and longevity are both excellent. Will always be in rotation.

I don't know why they made the original more flowery...I don't know if it's really more concentrated at all. The first few minutes are glorious, realistic citrus fruit, but then it devolves into stale orange blossom residue which I can only smell if I overspray (though I'd hesitate to even use the word "overspray" with this one since it's so light). I gave it to my friend and she used about 5 mL one day as a room+linen spray all over her bedroom, but I couldn't smell it when I visited her place the next day.

Pure citrus, finishes like citrus.
But not lasts for a long for a long time on my skin.

Interesting stuff straight from the bottle : Tart lemons and herbs. May sound strange, but something here reminds me of pickles, and especially those mustard seeds that are at the bottom of that pickle jar. This smell is very distant and it fades fast, but its clearly in there. And I like it, wish this accord would last much longer!

Citruses and herbs lingers all the way through the duration of this scent, keeping it refreshing, even long after the good doze of oak moss with some woods has been kicked in.

Lasting power is not superb, but its okay after all.

Nice fresh chypre, but not very exciting.

Whereas the original Eau smelled wetter, perfectly natural, and more green/leafy, it also smells "older" than Concentre. Concentre not only lasts longer, but is both mintier, sweeter, and more complex. The very natural Papaya and Mango notes being amped up make it smell much more contemporary, without giving it any hint of candy. My only gripe, albeit a small one, is that in colder temperatures this scent smells somewhat dry, which is not flattering for a citrus scent imo. But above 50fahrenheit, it's the best all-around citrus-dominant scent I've smelled, when factoring in natural aura, longevity, and price. I will never be without a bottle of this. Both thumbs way up and a big grin.

This had a rather unpleasant genesis on my parchmentesque skin,There was an obnoxious blend of Fruit Gums and body odour, but in fairness, this only lasted a brief time. When it dries down, it settles into a very languid stride, which is reminiscent of one the stages of Terre D'Hermes. It has longevity, decent sillage, and it is as smooth as a freshly buttered banister. Beautiful

Oh, how I love this one. It's simply a pleasure to be in it's aura whenever I wear it. A HUGE THUMBS UP!

Thumbs way up on this one.

This scent and its brother (Eau D'Orange Verte) got me hooked on citruses. Before they entered my life, I was a heavy oriental + vanilla only type of guy.

I love the orange note at the beginning, not as fruity as I would have liked, but it's fine.

A+ from me!

WHOA!! there would not be a Single scent apart from this in your wardrobe which can match the freshness of one getting out of a warm water shower. not a single scent deserves to touch your skin after shower, other than this. This scent should replace water and should be used universally used in napkins, showers etc. ok ok ..ill control my emotions now.....but boy, what a scent!! blast of orange with tinge of herbal notes..orange with bitterness to it...*slurps*..gets only better thru the day..a wonderfully chirpy & complex, citrus based floral chypre which is sure to please...the base is again a "winner" with hints of powderiness and orange tanned leather !! give me a 30oz please!!!

For starters, let me say that I've never tried the Ed'OV. Don't think I will after sampling the Concentre. This is a frag that comes out the barrel super hot! It turned me off a bit until the drydown. Then it begins to resemble a stronger version of Guerlain Homme. A nice frag if you're on a date. Too strong for the office until the drydown IMO.

Ahhh! An perfect green creation. It's as if you're walking through some idyllic fragrant garden after the rain. Lovely, utterly lovely. Kudos to Mr. Ellena!

Ooo La La! I love this scent! I have always been a lover of the original Eau D'Orange Verte; Where the original is a sublime EDC, the concentrée is a brilliant reinterpretation of the original using the chypre concept. Unlike many concentrée versions which are actually completely new scents altogether this one really stays honed in on its predecessor. The opening smells more of basil to my nose but the whole effect is much darker than the original. The sillage is a knockout! It lasts for a longer time than the original and dries down a bit leathery. Yum.

I can't possibly give a better review than the 3-4 that precede this (especially JaimeB's). I personally DO find the concentree to be similar to it's brother, especially in its refreshing, pungent opening that makes the fragrance. There is perhaps more breadth of citrus, such as mango, in the concentree. It's not just grapefruit and orange. Whereas the EdC is gone in a half hour, having done its job of cooling me off after a walk in the Texas heat, EdT continues developing, becoming mossy and woodsy. I would, and do, wear concentree as a daily fragrance.

Some controversy about whether the green note in the top of this scent is basil or peppermint. I couldn't say for sure, but it seems peppery and minty to me. This is really a kind of chypre, with patchouli, amber, and even a slightly leathery note of cedar in the base balancing the citrus top note. What I love about it is the vivifying and refreshing tonic effect it has on me. Of course, it is a hesperidic scent, not extremely long -lived, but this one does better than many others by building in that chypre-style base.

The inevitable comparison to Eau d'Orange Verte, its much earlier predecessor, is IMO entirely moot. I don't think they're all that similar, or at least no more similar than any two citrus scents would be. Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, Jasmine, Neroli are the notes for Ed'OV; all citrus and white florals.

I don't own Ed'OV. It's no that I don't like it, but that I like Concentré d'OV much better. It's much deeper and more aromatic. And, of course, I'm a sucker for chypres and any hint of leather.

Perfection for hot muggy southeastern summer mornings when simply rising from bed to be about the workday can be enervating.

A delightful bracing green opening - citrus peel and a magnified green petitgrain hit the nose and send a message that maybe, just maybe, getting up and movijng would be a good thing. From there a very pleasant unsweetened citrus peel scent that is perfection for the commute to the office - cutting the opression of hot asphalt and exhaust fumes. Drydown is exquisitely clean without being sharp, cloying, or overtly chemical. It's just like a very good very expensive neroli scented soap - and gives a sense of proper cleanliness throughout the working day.

This may well be the ur office scent. That elusive beastie that is pleasing, well crafted, with a certain crisp gravitas that focuses rather than distracts.

Concentrée d’Orange Verte has a heavier, darker opening than Eau d’Orange Verte. It is mellow, and not as green/leafy. It has an elusive, restrained, even enigmatic quality in comparison to its more up-front sibling. It sits closer to the skin. It is woodier, and the soft florals make it a bit more classy and refined. Based on reviews below I was not prepared to like it... but I find that I do! I like green scents so I really enjoy the basic Eau d’Orange. But the concentrated version is a successful scent in its own right. At times it reminds me of Roger & Gallet’s Extra Vielle.

The dirty(!) green and orange opening is quite a kick! The concoction dries down quickly to a straightforward and refreshing orange and mint tropical drink of a heart. Mostly quite translucent, but is that underlying musty-dirty note that I detect over the woody base a touch of cumin? Whatever it is, it just saves Concentree d'Orange Verte from being a run-of-the-mill citrus scent. Nice, but I'm not compelled. Decent lasting power for this kind of thing, but I'd sooner wear Iskander, Eau du Sud, or Bahiana.

I am in complete agreement with those who give the Concentree a thumbs up. I have been unable to find the au D'Orange Verte only the Concentree.

Taken on it's own, it is a great fresh citrus fragrance.

I think that is fresher than other so-called fresh citrus fragrances I have tried such as Mugler Cologne and the venerable 4711. Which isn't to say either aren't good. The Concentree's freshness doesn't rely on the artificial fresh notes found in, other so-called fresh citrusy fragrances such as Burberry for Men.

Having said this, keep in mind that it seems that the more natural a fresh scent is, the less longevity it has. It is something important to consider. So perhaps you'll want to pretend you are Napoleon or a member of the court of one of the French Kings and carry a bottle of cologne with you and spray at will when need it.

I think that Concentree D' Orange Vert is certainly worth a try.

Concentrée D'Orange Verte disappointed me. It did not capture the brilliant citrus opening of Eau D'Orange Verte, but emphasized the papaya note barely felt in the original. I did not care for it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I humbly propose that too much of a fuss is made about the inestimable genius of Monsieur Jean-Claude Ellena, the supernose of Hermès and innumerable other fames, who has become a celebrity in his own right. My exhibit A is Concentrée d'Orange Verte, which - I will say it in harsher terms as some of the speakers before me - is a most maladroit debasement of the original.
Yes Eau d'Orange Verte is fleeting, that is part of its frail beauty, it is, in the tradition of Eau de Colognes, a burst of invigorating freshness and of a green orange purity and naturalness that is unrivalled. Reapply, reapply, Ladies and Gentlemen, and don't think of your purse, for if you do, you should not have chosen Hermès in the first place. So, here we have a nonsweet orange zephyr as Turner could not paint it better - this should be to M. Ellena's liking, as so many of his watery creations are most fleeting, shall we mention the recent Hermessence series for q.e.d. And what does he do with the perfect model of citrus airiness, revealing its perfect nude beauty for the wink of an eye only? What does he do, one is almost tempted to think out of malicious envy over this sparkling masterpiece? He turns it into a spinster of a musty orange dressed up in old lace, into the drying wrinkled oranges on a forgotten dust-laced fruit platter in that spinster's dark and aged-smelling chambers. More length, perhaps, but of something only for everyone's cranky stepmother to wear.
There are other misdeeds and affairs of little merit one can accuse M. Ellena of, but for today I rest my case and advise you to do as I do, and employ your bottle of Concentrée as a luxurious shoespray for frequently worn favorites. Here alone it can serve as an atmospheric improvement.

I don't know about the original Eau D'Orange Verte, but this one is a great, refreshing and joyful experience. An orange explosion followed by light green notes (the orange is dominant throughout), and if generously applied, 4 sprays or so, it does have decent longevity for an almost citrus-only scent. A lot of fun!

I was ever so slightly dissapointed with this, because in the attempt to make it last longer, I feel the freshness has been compromised slightly. Overall, still very worthwhile. ODV is my personal favorite of all time but this is better to wear because of the great longevity.

A bit more blunt than the original. The differences are actually very similar to the ones between the first Acqua di Parma and Colonia Assoluta. This means more green in the stronger versions, mainly added mint. Stronger for sure, but since this by no means means GREAT staying power, I'd still choose the classic one, just more zest and playfulness in that one. If you can only afford one of the two and staying power is your main criteria - Concentree D'Orange Verte is still better than the majority of fresh colognes out there. Same bottle as before but in frosted glass instead.

Depth and freshness all in one.Stunning! Excellent persistence for a citrus fragrance, but then, there's a lot more to it that "citricity", maybe something of orange blossom or other white flowers. Great for evening wear, on top of Eau d'OV worn during the day.

Beautiful..... very very very similar (in this extreme form) to Eau de Monsieur by Annick Goutal.... maybe a little more green..... Classic and mostly straightforward.... old world with a crisp citrus.

Hallelujah! They really did this one right! I love the Concentre even more than the original, not only because of its longevity, the drydown and composition is just perfect! The Eau de Cologne was almost too sharp, the mango note too tart, but I loved the green, fresh, however fleeting base. I think there is a woodier base for the Concentre, and the citrus well balanced with the greener notes. Just an absolute joy to wear...the fall season is here and still it seems so fitting to wear this. At one point, I didn't really care for D'Orange Verte at all...it seems my tastes have changed, I now regard this as a refined classic. You wouldn't believe how many 1/4 oz. samples I tossed in the past because it wasn't really my taste, and not many others either because I used to get these miniatures literally by the handfulls on each purchase of a frag, or even by just passing by the counter. Now, I can't believe the feeling it evokes everytime I smell this now, original Cologne or the Concentre. JUST MARVELLOUS! Even better, I managed to get a 100 ml bottle for half the $80 pricetag off eBay (with included shipping)! YEEEHAH, I love internet commerce!

A slightly deeper and longer-lasting version of the original D'Orange Verte. Instantly recognizable as the amazing and unique citrus classic. Unfailingly uplifting to wear!

I never had the opportunity to try the original D'Orange Verte, and most discussions about the new Concentree version seem to debate its longevity. Well, I don't know how it compares, but it's one of the scents I wear that I can most definitely detect on myself many hours later, though others have told me they do not notice it. It goes on with a refreshing blast of orange and then there's an element of mint that seems to linger on the skin, and combines with the other notes to make this unusual musky/minty concoction.
