funny.... i actually prefer this to the original. this is sao mich more wearble. m7u at times smells a little tribal and stufffy ( i stillh have high regards for original without a doubt) once in a while,, a pop twist can realeas the brakes of a other wise pretty rigid scent. good flanker. almost fortunate not to tarnish the short but influencial heritage for what is typically Tom Ford - street-meets drama 08 October 2008

This is what was missing in the original -- some lightness. It's now perfect. 02 October 2008

Absolutely mouthwatering blend of ginger and oud, accented by ripe grapefruits and vetiver. Almost as good as the original, if not even better. Smells alot like Soda by Comme des Garcons without that soft, melting vinyl note. This isn`t nearly as strong either, but they are close cousins without a doubt. M7 Fresh is a pleasant wear, and it can be sprayed very liberally. It`s totally unoffensive even in overloaded amounts. I`m very happy to own large bottle of this, it`s five stars all the way allthough it could have slightly better lasting power. 16 September 2008

Minty Fruit Loops. Haha! What a strange fragrance. Agarwood and mint with a hint of grapefruit. M7 was quite a turn off but this is good. Definitely fresh. Definitely M7. Jacques Cavalier knows what he's doing. I can't turn this one down even if I didn't like M7 very much. If you like M7 Fresh but need something more 'old school', check out Blenheim Bouquet. Has that Fruit Loops accord to it. 04 September 2008

This is a fantastic re-invention of the classic M7. It's aggresive grapefruit opening is invigorating to say the least, but it calms down and blends into a softer, subdued M7 after an hour or so. If you liked the original, this one's essential for the warmer months when wearing M7 would be lethal. :P 20 July 2008

Froot loops? Yes please!!! Bought this one blind off of the reviews, one of my best blind buys to date. It is a little smokey after it dries down a bit. Fresh but dark, fruity yet classy. Made me appreciate the original M7 more, but I still won't wear it. For me this is the perfect version of M7. 15 April 2008

Picked up a small bottle on E-bay due to the buzz. This is another scent that is completely different than anything else. Grapefruit Blast(no fruit loops or fruit in my mind)I consider Tom Ford for Men fruity but this is Cedar(like a fine classical guitar or on the negative side a hamster cage)mixed with Cinnamon and a little bit of of a cool breeze. The Cedar/Cinnamon last for about an hour and then resolves to a semi-sweet mild but different M-7 warmth. If you can handle M-7 you will like M-7fresh.If you can find it! 07 December 2007

The grapefruit is obvious right from the first spray, and there’s a strong lime element in the opening, too. It is a pretty straightforward grapefruit / citrus accord — very fresh and enticing — one of the freshest, most enjoyable, and yet wearable citrus opening I’ve experienced. The next note I get is smoke — a really beautiful smoke that doesn’t last long, but reappears sporadically — it seems to float in and out of the grapefruit accord. The opening citrus lasts for a long time on my skin and then slowly transforms to a darker accord complete with a mild ginger and a growing in strength aoud. This is the about the same accord as in the original M7, though less potent, fresher, but still retaining a significant amount of the drama and darkness of the original. For the dry down I don’t get a musk but I do get an excellent vetiver. M7 Fresh does not have the longevity of the original, but it does have a complete personality half borrowed and half new. And I like this new creation even better than the old. Great fragrance. 07 November 2007

This fragrance has a clean/smooth scent with the same wonderful dry down as its big brother M7. An olfactory delight! This is my signature Spring/Summer scent. 28 October 2007

Bought a 3.3oz from eBay for $60 and sorry to rain down on people's parade, but it smells like Fruity Pebbles, not Fruit Loops. Sorry to disappoint all Fruit Loops fans out there, this ain't for you. The cedar and citrus balance back and forth both in the initial spray and drydown, though the citrus is more apparent in the initial spray and the cedar is more apparent in the drydown. Not certain this should be considered summer wear, but it fits just right for those "good" days, not "good" nights. 19 October 2007

Wow. These reviews are spot on. Lime/Citrus/'Fruit-Loop' opening (but in a totally good way) drying down to a mellower more subdued M7 agarwood. Off to purchase it in Europe! 28 July 2007

One reviewer said this smells like fruit loops, and after wearing it last night thats what came into my mind when I sprayed it. The fruity top notes give off a good smell that is unique and rich. During the tops notes you still get that wonderful smell off agarwood in the background which is what makes M7. As the scent progresses, it reverts back to the orginal M7. Which is a good thing becauase it smells amazing. Overall it is a fruity yet deep cologne that I would suggest to anyone. 18 May 2007

Okay, it DOES smell like Fruit Loops at first spray. On drydown it smells NOTHING like citrus. I do agree with the cola and agarwood calls and even on drydown it is deeply layered. It is among the only scents I have ever worn that has a smokey warmth but is light and wearable anytime or anywhere. Seriously, I have found my new main scent and, if I had sufficient priveleges on this site, I would be selling the unopened bottles I have of Havana, Versailles, Gres and Balenciaga Pour Homme (that one I don't like anyway). FIND IT, BUY IT, LOVE IT! 30 April 2007

One of the darker "fresh" scents I've encountered. I think it's the somewhat smokey dry-down that makes it feel this way. I also get the Cola note all the way through, which adds to the darkness. I havent smelled the original M7, but this is a very intriguingly different fragrance. 03 March 2007

Nevermind what anybody says. This smells exactly like Froot Loops. Richer, warmer, healthier Froot Loops. Mmmm, love those froot loops! 11 December 2006

I bought M7 Fresh on ground of the reviews from Basenotes. And I must admit it wasn't a mistake at all. It's a milder version of the original M7 with more fruit than woods. The warm season is the best time for this scent. It gives you the sensation of coolness and turns back time in favour of youth. Unfortunately, it doesn't last so much as M7 but a few sprays more won't harm no one. Everyone I know loves this scent. 30 October 2006

I like this scent, but it IS just a blander version of the original. Why is it so hard to find? It would work quite well as M7 for summer 31 August 2006

Fragrance for pimps? I have never met a pimp (to my knowledge) but I don't think he'd be wearing M7 (or M7 fresh for that matter). As stated before, much more accessable than the original. I guess the lowering in intensity of the woody notes lets the other 'citrus' notes come forward. I love this stuff and I don't even pimp for living! 24 August 2006

This was my first fragrance. My first sniff on the sampler left me wanting, but a skin test blew me away 10 minutes later. unfortunately it doesn't project quite as well now the weather is getting colder, but when i smell it on my clothes it still gives me that rush. 01 June 2006

I don't know why I love this so much since it smells like I spilled grapefruit juice all over me... but I do. I love it so much. So so much. But I can't find it. 05 May 2006

I have been wearing my M7 Fresh for a few weeks now and am shocked to read the reviews here. It's not a citrus fragrance to me at all! Oh, sure there is a little citrus in the top notes but it's a persimmon accord that is the primary note! It's the same fruit accord used in Aqua de Gio. While AG is a fresh marine scent because of the iodine, this is a very fresh berry (persimmon's are berries) scent that is extremely fruity with a little bit of the famous M7 in the base notes but not much. I smell the persimmon up front all the way through. I have to admit that it's a wonderful fragrance and I highly recommend it if you can find it. 23 April 2006

Very very nice Citrus Scent with a bit of ginger and vetiver. Very versatile imho, any season, any age, any occasion (save a funeral or something like that..). Longevity seems to be a problem for some people, especially in colder weather, maybe put some on your clothes too in the winter. A definitive recommendation anyway, very original scent, I asked for alternatives several times at several places, and not one of those shown to me was even close to M7 Fresh. 14 March 2006

Thumbs Way Way Way up for me for this wonderful fragrance. I really love citrus scents and that probably is because where I live gets very hot and humid. A good friend of mine found this gem in a frag. store in New York and that was their last one...Well I am on the look out for more because this will stay a summer keeper for me.... 28 January 2006

M7 was always my favorite... the fragrance that turned me into a fragrance snob, the fragrance that led me to basenotes. But M7 fresh is a gateway to the rest of the world, and M7. Now people can appreciate the beauty of M7 with the accessibility of the citrus aspect in M7 Fresh. I am sure to stockpile in case it gets canceld. 18 January 2006

Probably the only fragrance deviation from the original (ex. "fresh", "extreme", "sport", etc.) that is actually better than the original. Original M7 is great ... but it's a bit limited to cooler weather and pretty much of a nighttime scent. It's a heavy, deep dark scent. But M7 Fresh brightens it up tremendously and turns it into a scent that's very versatile and could be worn in any season ... day or night. A permanent staple in my wardrobe. 16 January 2006

Awesome retake of the bold original! I managed to get this bad boy recently off of ebay, and I am not disappointed! It takes the pungent notes of the original and douses it with a healthy amount of citrus; more suited, as it was intended, for warmer weather, but it can be used in colder ones perhaps. Glad to own this one!! 06 December 2005

Let me preface by saying that I've tried M7 numerous times, and it never so much as tickled my lamb-chops. I do believe it's an acquired taste, and somehow I'm sure it will someday end up in my collection. M7 Fresh, however, not only tickled my lamb-chops, it flat out sucker-punched me in my loins. The added citrus top-notes really make this fragrance sparkle, yet, it retains some of the better elements of the original. To me, it reminds me of leather jackets in the 70's, the type that were almost orangy-brown. 13 November 2005

A remake that actually does deserve some attention. This one is quite different from it's big brother, the smokey, oudh-ish, Dr Peppery brown bottle. Fresh has some pronounced citrus, grapefruit mainly, and less of that darkness (that can come across as quite feminine sometimes) so characteristic of the original. Obviously better suited for the summer season. 26 September 2005

This is a great summer scent. Citrus top notes combine with the traditional M7 woods. M7 is too strong for me but thist Fresh is just fresh! Lasts a long time too. 27 August 2004

The lighter version of M7 is a nice reinterpretation of the original scent, much lighter and thus wearable not only during summer time, but also at the office. Very versatile indeed. The lemony touch that it adds to the agarwood and oud is fantastic to say the least. I smell some of the finest ginger, and I highly appreciate it, although I'm normally not into gingery stuff. On the drydown it exposes the same intriguing notes as does the original M7, making it a high-class scent. I sometimes feel as if this scent could be deemed an original fragrance in its own right. If you like M7 you'll love this one, if the original was too heavy for you then try this one and you won't be disappointed! Whatever YSL does they never seem to get it wrong. In my view it's the best designer fragrance house in the market! If you want to stand out from the crowd then this is definitely one worth looking into. Two thumbs up!!! 16 August 2004
