This stuff is great. A true winner and a hidden gem. Its such a pleasant unobtrusive musk type scent. Not too sweet, nicely blended, surprisingly smooth and very rich. Very light lemon or citrusy note up front. Touch of cardamom perhaps mixes between the opening and middle? A mixture of spices follows immediately thereafter with a tad of leather and something familiar that I can't quite place at the moment. Vanilla (but it doesn't smell like some of these overly synthetic vanillas) mixes with a musky base. There is good reason that bottles are selling for so much. I do not belive that the big sprayer version is the same as the glass bottled avershave/cologne version. They sprayer bottle smells a lot like BOD 24K, the glass bottled richer and fuller, keep in mind that this may have something to do with the fact that this fragrance is far from new and alcohol may have evaporated from the sprayer type bottle.

I recently spent $75 on 3 4oz bottles. There is a reason. It smells much more expensive than it should. Unlike Jovan's old Musk for Men it doesn't smells like plain soap and has a much more complex lifespan and smells more expensive. I think it just fell by the wayside, too much stuff was out at the time this stuff came out, it wasn't revolutionary as it didn't really introduce anything new. Musky scents were not the calling card at that time, fresh scents were. Still I think it was wrong to discontinue this one, had I been the head honcho I'd have axed the original as opposed to this one as despite the fact that musky scents are not "in" it smells much more contemporary and more fitting to the modern era. However it is not totally unobtainable, it was produced in decent quantities when it was produced so you can score a stash and have an amazing signature scent people will ask about. I maybe have 200 or so different colognes, maybe 10 of which I wear regularly and only a few which receive repeated notice and this is one. While I am reluctant to bring realization to how good this one is because it hurts my future prospects of getting more I also feel it is a shame if no one else experiences it so I'm stuck halfway between.

absolute masterpiece this stuff was an amazing scent! no matter how much i dumped on i always got compliments and thats saying a LOT for a 6 ounce bottle i paid 5 for
