This is utterly boring. The only thing I remember about wearing this fragrance was a brief stint of citric herbs on top and a rather transparent musky amber on the bottom. It's easy to wear, I'll give it that much but I desire a bit more conversation with my fragrance than a short "hello".

Another mass marketed easy fragrance conceived for a dynamic and modern kind of man. What i  finally inhale is a a balanced but synthetic spicy-ambery and incensey smell with undertones of aromatic greens, anise, woods and citrus. The beginning is traditional and tart with its blast of citrus (orange and mandarin prominent), lavender and aromatic, slightly minty greens soared by the chemically  airy  and a bit dissonant effect of the link of caraway and aldehydes. A more intense kind of  sweetness starts in a while to overcome the tartness due to a link of sweet spices and amber. The sweet and prickly olfactory effect of the spices joins itself to a sort of mellow and woodsy dry down that is all cinnamon, boise' elements and vanillic-dusty amber. The balsams are misured but fairly balance the first blast of sour and watery notes. Not bad but a bit too common.

I liked the first whiffs of it even though they seemed a bit scratchy. They are a unique combination of citrus and lavender, and I remained quite happy with it for a short while … that is until the aldehydes overcame the soft citrus / lavender accord and the background scratchiness shifted the fragrance to a full-scale synthetic assault: I’m afraid that I suffered that assault through to the end. Oh, there are occasional whiffs of a very good wood accord sneaking into the offending onslaught every once in a while. I get very little spice from this scent and no aquatics. Also, “sweet” is pretty well missed by my nose. The primary delivery of Solo Pour Homme comes to me in the form of a more or less synthetic dried herbal-grassiness – quite masculine and attractive at times, but, like most scratchy things, it eventually ends up irritating me. I don’t blame the synthetics for my eventual rejection of Solo: I blame the aldehydes, the poor quality lavender note, and my growing intolerance of its raspy character. Soft to medium projection and limited longevity…

Kind of boring, but a very well put together fragrance. It's designer, but it isn't quite as popular. It's different, but not entirely unique. A great signature scent imo, for year round wearability.

The opening sort of reminds me of TdH, only it isn't earthy, and the orange note in this is far more sour; yet they do resemble one another with the way they are brought out. Surrounded by woods up top, as well as pink pepper, you can almost expect that woodsy dry down. I recalled smelling this somewhere before, yes, it reminded me of Hynose by Lancome, or Antonio from Antonio Banderas. Both of those fragrances have a bitter and sour citrus opening, surrounded by what smells like rosewood. The only big difference is the pink pepper here.

Although, what's a bit more unique about the woodsy dry down here, is that it isn't just woods, or the common woods, patchouli, vetiver, and all that jazz. It's very woodsy, yet rather light. To me, it's more of combination of cypress notes, a lot of cedar, and some sandalwood. The sandalwood here isn't overly sweet or synthetic, it has like that sawdust/workshop vibe to it, which goes very well with me. And, although this dry down may be nothing to write home about, I still find it to be amazing. When it's on my arm, I can't stop smelling it. Who doesn't love a good woodsy dry down? I should also note, the citrus plays a big role in this fragrance, as it lasts throughout, all the way till the end.

Longevity is 8+ hours, and projection is enough to get noticed for sure, but it definitley is no TdH. To me, Solo Loewe is like a Summer version of TdH. I find some similarities, not so much in smell, rather in presentation, lay out of notes, etc. Let's say, similar in style. I would probably spring for a bottle of this if I ever saw it marked down. But at retail price, I dunno. You'd have to love it. Me.. I like it, I commend it, but love is a strong term in this hobby.

I still haven't found the best fragrance in the world, but Solo is the closest one to deserve that range, alongside Terre d'Hermes.
Totally remarkable and distinguished .This is a modern classic, it's manly and smooth at the same time, it's classy and sexy , I have received a lot of compliments from women.
It has soft citric notes perfectly blended with pepper, floral notes and maybe a sweet woody note that remains for hours .If you spray on your clothes it can last several days .Excellent sillage and longevity .
It's not an aquatic fragrance , so it has nothing to do with GIT and Cool Water , it's much better .I respect other reviews and opinions but Diesel Fuel ForLife is crappy compared to Solo, it's like comparing a cheap wine to a Dom Perignon .
An EDP of this fragrance would be even better, I hope Loewe launches it .

I agree with other reviewers in the similarities between Solo and Terre d'Hermes, which is a good thing as, at present, Terre is the best fragrance in the world .

This fragrance should be among the best ones .It's worth the money.

    My marks:
    -SCENT: 9.5
    -LONGEVITY: 8
    -PROJECTION: 8

    Ehhh...

This is a yucky fougere that smells like "smarties." Remember the candy that came in the cellophane. Just google it.

Anyway, there is a smooth note that smells aquatic floating around in there, but the smell itself is entirely unremarkable. For a better, fresher, fruity fougere done correctly, see Fuel For Life pour Homme by Diesel.
